I knew something weird was going on when georgia freaked when paul suggested a lawyer, "saying that Gil didnt like lawyers". Her reaction wasnt like typical georgia.
22:31 I've always thought that Marcus' depression is due to not fully getting over the death of his best friend, he himself said in the first season that after his death, the months that followed were really bad for him and that he had to go to therapy and take meds. I think that every now and then he goes back to that point
Agreed, I think the talk from Georgia didn't help and probably does play in his head but I don't think it caused depression. That unfortunately he just already deals with depression and it can turn up again.

I personally wasn't surprised at all when it was revealed that Gill wasn't just emotionally but also physically abusive towards Georgia. My brain already expected it the moment he was introduced. I also think it was definitely a good idea to let Georgia have a little bit of insight when it comes to therapy, it could definitely help her since we already know she doesn't really believe in it. And because of Marcus, his behavior makes totally sense. Besides him being a bit goofy sometimes, having already diagnosed clinical depression and the incident with his friend, he also seems like an overthinking realistist who has an existential crisis sometimes. Which doesn't make his depression better and explains why he's constantly smoking and also donig nothing but sit on the floor when Ginny visits him for example. Sorry for the rant
It kinda baffles me that anyone would be fooled tbh. The first we see of him is him stomping on Georgia's boundaries and dismissing her. To me it's like when everyone was shocked watching Promising Young Woman and the "Ryan twist" is revealed. Why was anyone trusting this guy? All the red flags were there.
