Growing up my parents had a 1976 limited edition, candle apple red, with the buckle seats that swirled. I wanted that car so bad but they drove it into the ground. Still, it is my dream car.
Beautiful car. I remember these and the other GM siblings...Pontiac Grand Prix and Chevy Monte Carlo. This color looks Fantastic with the white top! You used to see these cars everywhere back in the day. I do think 20k is just a tad high. I just recently saw a mint 77 Grand Prix SJ in Burgundy with white trim for 16k. Both great cars from that era
My first car was a 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme exact same color.Would love to still have it.Awesome,it had Dunlop GT Qualifiers raised white letters with the classic Keystone Classic wheels.
In 1976 I purchased a Cutlass Salon. What a piece of sh*t. I had it painted three times under warranty. They had to repair the body rot in the back fender wells and along the rear window moldings. The new car warranty was one year 12K miles. The tranny gave up after 16K miles. One day the entire rear bumper was laying on the ground behind my car. The mounts were completely rusted through. Poor fit and finish. Then they had a controversy over a shortage of 350 4bbl engines. They were installing Chevrolet engines not Oldsmobile engines. The cars were coming through with orange painted engines, (Chevrolet) and not the Oldsmobile (Blue) And to make matters worse there was a tire shortage. My car came with a wheel in the trunk and an IOU for one spare. Can't drive on an IOU. Never bought another Olds again. I thought that was the sexiest Cutlass they ever made. The first year for the square headlights. I also ordered the car with a five speed manual transmission. It came through with the small three speed automatic. They had a high percentage of manual transmission failures, so it was discontinued.
Until that year, every Oldsmobile models bear the name with cursive letter on the front grille Later, it was changed to Avant Garde font for modernize.
I could understand the value of a car. 20K damnnn but then it is built with better quality materials. Metal. Instead of this heavy plastics for every piece esp the bumpers. One bang on my blazer and it is not that durable. Oh yeah, I'm a girl "what a pretty color". Hee hee

Back in the day, there were a million of those running around. Now a decent one is going for 20k, wow.

They were around $6 -7,000 new back then.
