A friend of mine met him and hung out it with him a a festival a decade or more ago and mentioned he used a ton of his own foley and recordings and I’ve always respected Bonobo. He’s one of the best of the last 20years+
I’ve been looking to get inside Bonobo’s tracks for so long. This is an amazing into an incredible artist. Without Bonobo I don’t think I’d have ever made any music. Thank you all for the great work
One thing I’ve noticed is that most of my favourite producers keep it very simple. They don’t waste tracks in their DAW everything is an important element to the song.
Between this and the Four Tet episode there is literally such a wealth of dynamically interesting takes on just every day sounds that's really inspiring and can be incorporated into any genre of sound you're making. And the similarities between these guys's take on sampling regular sounds and turning it into a groove is really notable. The drum sounds just feels wide and epic but simple and easy to digest.
Simon is one of my favorite producers and a huge inspiration. I just listened to the full podcast episode; thank you for the in-depth interview with this legend!
I heard this one at the last DHB, and boy oh boy! This song hits differently on Function1s, gaddaamm! The kick, the bass, and the synth are so well mixed together. It's my favorite tune of the year so far.
Amazing! What a gift this week. Thank you! Is there also video footage for the full podcast where he’s showing ableton? If so please post it :))) 🙏🙏🙏 or where do I find it? Ps: Never mind found it in the description lol

Came over from spotify, gutted that the in the screen recording the single tracks are “closed” and you can’t see what’s on them 😅 But amazing interview nevertheless! ❤

Hell yes
Bonobo = Maestro !🤯
i love these kinds of vids... you realise there's no super powers for producers... they apply some really simple techniques and layer them

"Just pop this sample in here and loop it and just like that you have a song"
oh yes
You know, I've listened to Bonobo for years, since Animal Magic, but I've never actually seen what he looks like.
Arturia's version of the OB4? Did he mean Arturia's version of the OB-Xa?
Yes
Actually, he might be talking about the Arturia matrix which is based on the xpander
@@zechs5079 Interesting, thank you.
His headphones are backwards 😆
I am very curious to hear what's inside the "fuckuary" collection 🤭
😯
I don't see any chimps in this video?
IT'S A SINGLE GUY !!!!!?????
Never heard of bonerbo
Ableton live's UI looks so boring and uninspiring, but I learnt it has a very intuitive workflow.
it is but you can change the colours now and there's a lot of options. mine is lavender colour :)
