    Great video! Thanks for showing this one. Right after purchasing my 21 Rebel, I installed a competitors (PC) throttle controller and loved it. Unfortunately. about a year into having it installed, my truck completely shut down and the dash went crazy with codes. My UConnect app on my phone went off too with the same codes. This happened twice on the same drive. After sitting with the truck off for a few minutes, everything was ok, to get me home, but the check engine light stayed on. I removed the throttle controller, disconnected the negative terminal of the battery, then reconnected the battery terminal after 5 minutes or so, and the check engine light went off. I have not had any issues since. And my gas mileage improved. I still have the throttle controller, but I'm reluctant to reinstall it. I cannot say for sure it caused the issue, but after removing it, everything has been fine. So who knows. Thanks again and I apologize for the long comment. Please update periodically if you experience any issues.

      I've heard that happen quite a bit with the pedal commander unit. Couldn't find anything like that for the HikeIt.

    When I searched for I video and saw you had it was almost sold..lol...could you elaborate a bit on your experience in Auto mode...seems like an added benefit over other makes. Would you consider leaving in auto all the time?

      After filming this video, I haven’t taken the controller out of auto mode. It somehow learns my driving habits and builds up a throttle pedal to body formula for the best performance.

    i've used this throttle controller on my wrangler for years and never had issues changing the mode while driving. i just bought this one for my truck to solely use it in eco mode and now i'm worried it isn't going to be as friendly after watching this

      It works flawless, just don't change modes on the go. No real need to be changing the modes constantly. When you get to a redlight or stop sign, put the truck in park, change modes, then rock and roll.

    How did you actually mount the unit to the center consol area? Was it just 3M tape or something else?

      Yup there’s double stick tape included in the kit. I didn’t use the bracket. Just put the tape on the back of the unit and slapped it into the truck

    Can this be run with a tuner?

    So pretty much same as a pedal commander!? Only that pedal commander has an app too

    Sprint Booster 3.0 is very good with never throwing codes….all the other ones have issues from codes to shutting down your truck…3 years running with no issues….

      It’s been a while since you commented on my channel. Thought you unsubscribed. Sprint is another option but lacks the options the Hike It has.

    Does this void any warranty?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Год назад

      Only if it’s the root cause of an issue but if you use the throttle controller as it was intended and only make changes while in park you don’t have much to worry about
