@@klaudiabielowicka73 I think it depends on whether your fabric is stretchy or not, and what size you want the hat to be. But, for most of the hats that I made using this pattern, I didn't add a seam allowance.

I made this and it’s so cute. I would say for my personally the pieces all need to be a big larger maybe another centimeter in width. I also hand sewed it since I don’t own a sewing machine so maybe that affected it? Or maybe I’ve just got a big dome. Take 2 here I come

"good side" just means the side of the fabric that looks better, that feels better, or that doesn't have any exposed seam. Then, obv the "wrong side" is the opposite.
Oh my goodness thank you so much!! Guys this is absolutely worth it! FYI, I didn't have a sewing machine and made it ALL by hand. It took a while, quite a while, actually 😆, but it's absolutely doable. Just be sure to print the patterns properly, otherwise it will mess up the whole process. As a really pale skin holder, such a thing is a must-have! Together with my linen shirt and pants and some shades, I am completely equipped for a hot summer😎😎😎

hey is it just me or is the 'headband" template smaller in the pdf :') I'm just kind of confused should I print out 2 and tape them together? I LOVE THIS by the way i just have a peanut brain sometimes.
haha all good! It ends up being larger when we cut it on the fold. In the video I had one large piece but realised it was easier to print on the fold for portioning, so totally understandable if you got confused :)
@@iridianramos9083 it means that you fold your fabric in 2 and you pin your paper on it with the edge "on the fold" litteraly on the fold so that you can have twice the length of the piece of paper when you cut your fabric (I don't know if that is clear)
I made it using old bedsheets that were about to be thrown away and it worked really well!! using the extra seam allowance marking on the pattern helped for it not to be too small! Thanks for the tutorial!
The pattern includes seam allowance, which ends up making an approx medium size. So if you think you need more room, you can add the extra seam allowance :) I've just updated the downloadable pattern to include this, thank you for your feedback!
Mei Li O’Neil i printed it to where the bottom of the circle was barely cut off but it ended up working. you have to edit the paper size setting higher than what your paper size is:)

In all honesty I dont think she made the templates for the headband realistic. They’re too small. I had to make two more and it’s not for the reversible bucket hat its just for the single sided bucket hate.
Hanna Sasmiita i dunno if this will help, but I had to make 3 to 4 headband pieces in order for it to fit around my head and the circle was just fine with that length.

I did this with some white cotton fabric to try it out and I just found a HUGE really pretty blue long sleeve shirt that’s almost denim, and so now I can make around three more with it! Im excited bc it will be a lot sturdier
i just made it and i loved it! i added an embroidered daisy for a little bit of extra detail. if u want to make this make it a little bit bigger since it was a little small on me. i started sewing less than two days ago, so if you’re a beginner you could definitely do it. i love it and i’ll definitely make more in the future 😸

If you have access to hand stitching tools (thread and a hand needle) then you could definitely hand stitch it. Will just end up taking a bit of extra time, but should turn out the same :) I've never tried it with fabric glue, but I don't see why that couldn't work either. Let me know how you go and what ends up working!!
Im currently making the jacquemus gadjo bucket hat from brown jeans with this pattern and I cant recommend you enough this pattern, my sister bought one online and i didnt really like the cut on me but with this i really like it so much

hi, when I used the template the headbands (+ everything) were to small for my head and needed to be bigger, I'm just letting everyone know since I had to redo the hat 3 times, but otherwise I like how it looks atm

Thanks so much for your feedback! I just remade one to triple check the sizing and my circle ended up a bit larger too, so all I did was shuffle the edges of the headband section in so that it took up less circumference. Otherwise alternative you could trim down the size of the circle to better fit if that's easier. I've updated the pattern to reflect this change. Sorry about that and hopefully it still came together okay for you :)

Hey! After I filmed this I realised it'd be best to print the headband piece on the fold as well. So it is smaller than the piece of paper I have but when you cut it on the fold it ends up the same size material as mine :) Hope that helps!

Thank you! Yep that's pretty much it. Instead of joining the brim with the good sides facing for the matching panels leave them good sides out and the edges exposed that way it'll just start naturally fraying :)

Otherwise alternative you could trim down the size of the circle to better fit if that's easier. I've updated the pattern to reflect this change. Sorry about that and hopefully it still came together okay for you :)

heyy!! i love the bucket hat! I printed the pfd and the headband is way smaller than yours in the video, i did print it out as instructed do I need to sue some together?
Hey! After I filmed this I realised it'd be best to print the headband piece on the fold as well. So it is smaller than the piece of paper I have but when you cut it on the fold it ends up the same size material as mine :)

Love this! So cute, definitely want to make this sometime soon. Just one question, maybe I missed something, but how did you do the frayed one? Did you just leave the edges of the brim exposed and then wash it? 💖
Thank you! Yep that's pretty much it. Instead of joining the brim with the good sides facing for the matching panels leave them good sides out and the edges exposed that way it'll just start naturally fraying :)
