It was already a parody of Sgt. Pepper and all similar psych-vaudeville '67 stuff.

I remember the Bonzo dog door da band on children's TV in the sixties, can anyone else?. I think Germaine Greer might have been on it too.

@@haroldtaylor7294 - Denise Coffey was the actress I believe, and also included members of the future Monty Python team , Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones etc and some of the first early animations of Terry Gilliam. There was a mini (spoof) superhero series called Captain Fantastic, played by David Jason, and Denise Coffey as the villain-ness with evil square headed robots. I remember the programme fondly and used to look forward to watching this slightly bonkers view of the world after school, even if I didn't understand all the "jokes" or sketches, I thought it one of the funnest things on TV...and, of course, the Bonzo's were always good.

For me, this is far more Kinks than Beatles. And Neil Innes rules.

absolutely, the Kinks but with a bit more whimsy . Some of Neil's songs can make me cry . He had a way to express the pain that can be part of "just ordinary lives"

No estan imitando a Los beatles. Vivian stanshall es el Doble de paul mccartney, y su Estilo fue usado en Los beatles despues de 1966.

They were pals of the Beatles. Paul produced one of their singles, and they appeared in "Magical Mystery Tour." Legs Larry Smith later toured with George.
