Hey Gary, Here are a few things I'd recommend when reviewing a cologne that'll make your reviews higher quality: 1. Talk about the dry-down process; how is the opening compared to the mid compared to the dry-down? 2. Cologne can actually stain clothes and the scent can be different on cotton, polyester, etc, Natural ingredients can still stain and damage clothes. There's no real benefit to testing a cologne on your clothes, your skin will always be the best. 3. Performance means projection, longevity, and sillage. You only mention longevity. How much does a fragrance project? Does it have a great smell when you walk by someone? 4. Try to explain all the notes you smell or what type of fragrance it is; for example, maybe it's woody (Oud, cedar, oakwood, etc.) or you pick up pineapple. 5. Be more specific about why you like a fragrance; does the opening hook you? Is it a burst of fruitiness? Realistic vanilla or a complex scent, etc.?
The glacial falls is a fresh, clean, scent with some citrus, sweet, and warmth to it. Fireside bourbon is a rich, warm, sweet, spice scent and woodland pine is a fresh, pine, warm, smokey scent. Glacial falls is my favorite. 2nd is fireside bourbon. I do like the woodland pine but it has to much of a Smokey scent to it. I wish it was more fresh and pine and less smokey. If you take a pine cone and light it on fire and let it burn a little bit and then put it out that’s EXACTLY how woodland pine smells.
I don't know, I shot one spray of fireside bourbon on my neck/chest and could smell it all day, the boozy smell stayed too. No idea what people perceived though.

i think you should review duke cannons solid cologne. i have the leaf and leather, and bay rum and they smell really nice. and theyre only $25 a tin thats about the size of those altoid mint tins👍
I actually bought a bundle of Duke Cannon last year, and plan to review it next week. I think I got a solid cologne in there. I bought it a while ago and still haven't opened it, so don't even remember what's in it.

@@noland5345not all cologne is long lasting. It depends on the composition. The weakest are eu de toilet. Very alcohol based and not much in the way of oil which is what the fragrance molecules are bonded to. Cheap colognes are this style. Then there is eu du parfum which has more oil in the mix and is more potent and longer lasting. Followed by parfum which is even longer lasting. These are more than likely EDT so short duration being mainly alcohol based and cheap to make.
I think some guys are misinterpreting the word “cologne” as any mens fragrance like saying “perfume” for any womens fragrance, but cologne is actually the strength of the fragrance. Most cologne strength stuff, especially cheaper ones like these, aren’t going to last more than an hour or two. Even some cheaper eau de toilette stuff doesn’t last very long (pretty much any CK One summer flanker I can think of). Not only the length of time the scent will last, but also the projection of it off your skin is affected by its strength. Outside of a very short burst in the initial time of the application you’re expecting miracles from a cologne to project or last for any period of time.
Bit of an older video so idk if you’ll see this, though Sudsy released Smokey mountain fog cologne a while back, it doesn’t smell exactly like the soap and has a very strong citrus and clove vibe.
Nah bro squatch only recommends 1-2 prays on your pulse points - neck and wrists. It’s ridiculous to need to spray more. Especially when they claim you’re getting more for your money with their product. Thanks for the review! I think I’ll be skipping these.
I agree. Anything over 2 sprays is overkill unless it's really weak like Nautica voyage. These people who regularly do 3-5 sprays are a nuisance to everyone in the room. Nobody should know your presence in a room from cologne. It should be something people smell when they get closer to you. They discover your smell.
I think these colognes are meant to be used after taking a shower, it's just something you can spray onto yourself that you use to shower with, since he keeps saying it smells powdery after. so, it'll make you feel and smell comfortable at home.

I have tried those colognes I’m looking to buy Fireside Bourbon soon as they sold out from Valentine’s Day right now I have Glacial Falls and Woodland Pine and they’re both really good scented colognes and I agree with you they aren’t strong long lasting but it’s good for me anyways and I’ve gotten compliments from people that say I smell good 👍 I do wish they were more stronger and long lasting but they still do the trick for me 😊thanks for your review on them
Deep-Sea Goat's Milk would make a good lotion, & deodorant. Crypto Clean would make it good toothpaste, mouthwash, chapstick, shaving cream, deodorant and shampoo. Freedom Fresh, would make a good toothpaste, shampoo, shaving cream, and deodorant. Black Hole, Mars Bar, and Brick Of The Dead the same as Crypto Clean. Gold Mose, deodorant, cologne, and lotion just to name a few. With Crypto Clean being my favorite of all.
I dunno, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the Pine Tar deodorant. Wasn't a fan of the shampoo, had an overly chemical type smell, almost like ammonia maybe? Didn't like the shampoo but loving the deodorant. Doesn't smell as Earthy as I was expecting, which is probably a good thing lol.
Your off on this one. I tried both woodland and fireside. The fireside is overpowering and revolting. Pine tar makes you smell like old lady. Cancelled my squatch subscription because of it. I did take your advice and tried sudsy bear. Very good stuff

Squatch cologne you have to treat them like high-quality colognes that they are okay so for all the men out there especially for the guy who did this video you can't spray cologne on your T-shirt on your jeans on your shoes or any piece of clothing because your clothing if you freshly washed your clothing or if it's brand new clothing that you just got from like the market it's going to have a lingering scent of freshness the cologne is not put the mixed with that freshness it's going to make a very crappy smell so what I suggest all men do when they get in the shower is let's say you have the shower let's put it on a scale to 1 to 10 let's say you have your shower you like your shower heat at let's say 5 you don't like it too hot but you don't like it too cold you like it in the middle pauseI suggest that before you get out of the shower and where the cologne put your shower up to like a seven or an eight hot enough to the point where it will open up the pores of your skin then take your neck one side of your neck when you're going to put the cologne on your pulse point for 10 seconds then run it for 10 seconds put the other pulsepoint on the other side of your neck for 10 seconds more so 20 seconds total but put 10 seconds on each pulsepoint get out of the shower brush your teeth do your hair put on your clothes but two squirts on your pulse points where the heat is that will optimise the cologne but what I hate when people make cologne reviews is that they always put it on their clothes first take a shower put some heat on your neck without hot water and then put the cologne that is how you do it

Don’t spray cologne on clothing. Especially if you have a larger collection. These are cheap alcohol based fragrances and aren’t meant to last or be over powering. This is a quick going out family of cologne. As for the amount of sprays, four to five sprays. One per wrist or inner elbow, once behind each ear and if you want a scent trail, one on the back of your neck.
It’s supposed to be stronger on fabric they actually advertise the cologne to be able to stick to your clothes they never said anything about putting it on directly to your skin
the pine cologne is horrible. don't waste your money. The best they ever had was crushed pine cologne in the very small bottle which you cannot get anymore.

A lot of these hyped up brands like to release these cheap colognes for their existing customers as they’re inexpensive to produce and have high profit margins. Spend a few bucks more and buy a quality fragrance.

These releases are always just to vacuum money from fanboys lol.
I know you ain’t into perfumes but bro testing it by seeing how long it stays on a tshirt aint the way, maybe try on skin a whole day and check on it every few hours or see if people notice it, to increase duration put on vaseline before where you’re gonna spray it btw
if its settling down as powdery scent .. that means they are using chemicals in their scent and not a lot of natural oils. and the fact that they dont have edt or edp is what makes this a no for me.. even cremo has some basic scenets but they are all colone.. I rather buy middle eastern clones than these scents.

This isn’t entirely true, but colognes are never going to last long and are pretty much skin scents after a very short time.

Men’s cologne is supposed to last for many hours. I have colognes and they last me a good 8 hours.

Woodland Pine lasts forever on me
Pinetar was way too subtle a smell as a deodorant can't see it working so well as a cologne.

I used to have some old davidoff cool water EDT cologne and that was $40-45 for a 4.2oz bottle and the scent would last 3 hours before fading.
