The 3 months I spent being homeless was rough, but extremely liberating at the same time. I got to see more of the country, be free of any real schedule or giant responsibility, any stupid emails. Nobody to worry about. Just me, myself and I.
Then again, I slept in my car, stayed in the town I had lived in for years prior, had some friends around, and kept busy. I had it way easier than you did. Even then, I only lasted until the start of fall.
What you're doing is incredible, even if you don't realize it. My only suggestion, from someone who's spent a fraction of a time in the 'nomadic lifestyle', don't prolong it any more than you need to.
If you ever get to that point where you're not enjoying yourself anymore, if things feel too taxing or you feel like the days are passing you by and something's missing, like it's not fun anymore, I hope you can transition to the next part of your journey seamlessly
Keep living life unbound to the human construct that is a clock. No matter what happens, I hope you find what you're looking for.

One thing I've learned about servers in France is they usually aren't being rude or mean, rather they are doing their job and not trying to be your best friend. American servers are hustling for tips and trying to be your friend in a phony way many times. I appreciate the French style where they aren't constantly interrupting your meal which is supposed to be your time with friends and family, or quiet time alone in your case.

What you describe at the end is 'bonking' - I quote from the internet here - In cycling the term 'Bonk' is used to describe a sudden and dramatic decrease in energy levels during a ride. This can happen when the rider has not eaten or hydrated properly and is a result of the body running out of fuel. It is also known as “hitting the wall” or “bonking”.
So get yourself some small snacks or something and eat a little regularly. Also you need to take sips of drink regularly too - otherwise you'll 'bonk' 🤪

ive thought about doing this, and i always imagine id have some sort of tiny tent or tarp in case it rains. Also. id try to squeeze in some camo netting and drap it over me and the bike in a secluded space. I couldnt sleep in a car part like that. The good thing with the bike is u could jump in a bush or near some trees.

Great video, but be careful when you sleep around water channel, they can be subject to flash flood. I wish you a happy and safe journey.

Way cool story telling..my only advise- buy another sack or two to mount upon the front..getting some even weight distribution..you will be smiling more..especially downhill.

I’am from the States. Also, I have a touring bicycle. I’am a lot older than you. I do over nite tours and I like to stealth camp like you do. Those are some big ass planners you’ve got on the rear. My touring bike has straight handle bars like your bike. Drop handlebars put a crick in my neck. Enjoying your touring adventure. I have zero interest in touring Europe or Asia although in the States there are too many cars and about 90% of them just have one occupant. That’s not sustainable.

You have to see your state of mind as it responds to stress. You are experiencing 'exposure', a mental and physical condition that makes you susceptible to lots of emotional conflict and you face the vital necessity of sleeping comfortably for mental health . Do not let your thinking become disordered.

I sleep outside a lot and I find I don't realise the creeping effect of poorer sleep quality. After a while I start to get aches and exhaustion in my body. I have sleeping tablets with me to help me catch up on sleep.
