- So we are heading into Evo Japan soon and it was known that 2XKO (formerly project L) would be playable on site, with new character Illaoi. Now, we have a dedicated trailer to her and her gameplay, so lets deep dive into it!

So 2nd video today, first video we were talking about Illaoi and then funnily enough, here's a whole trailer dedicated to her! This is the completed version of the character and I have a interesting perspective of that last year I did get to play her, in a very unfinished and incomplete state. So ill talk about the character herself, and also some of the changes that has happened form then 'til now! Of the announced characters Illaoi was already my favourite, and now in the polished state with actually finished moves (and new moves too) shes even better yet! So give the vid a watch, like if ya liked it, and let me know what you think!

As an Illaoi player from league, she's looks really faithful to how she plays in League and I'm super excited
Seeing the Supers is legit half the reason I love fighting games. That Super is so damn cool.
So jealous of those who get to try her out at Evo Japan. I can't afford two evo trips this year so ill be going to the vegas one later this year. She looks looks so badass and cool. So glad these characters get to breathe outside of league and show their chops in a more proper genre of videogame 👽

I quit league, but always lamented never getting to see the likes of Riven, Vi, Jinx, Irelia, Lux, etc. again. This game gives me renewed hope that I can without having to touch LoL proper.
I wanna see Sett in this game. He should be a heavy hitting grappler with big hiiting moves and command throws.

I've never seen this type of archetype before. A brawler with summons for set ups and combo extension. Damm thisnis Hype. Also that Ahri Skin is just❤️❤️

Wow this game has come along quite well. The ui, the over all visuals and animations are looking really REALLY sharp.
More so the animations.
Yordles in the background. I find this very interesting considering the challenges they face of including them as playable characters given their size. So at least here we have a scale of how big they are compared to human characters.

Nice to see some Bilgewater representation even tho it’s my old main, Graves, who I’d love to see in fighting game form but Illaoi a damn good choice to go with to start things off over the other pirates and rogues (and the devil who shan’t be named) of that region.

I wish I knew more about League to fully appreciate how well her moves translated to a fighting game. But as it stands, Illaoi looks sick and can't wait to try her!
I played as and against Illaoi in League and she is right on the mark in her playstyle. She struggles to get in, but when she does you know full well she is about to violently cave your skull in.
Everytime she does an overhead I hear JUGGERNAUT PUNCH, in my mind.
I honestly forgot about this game even exists. I'm still trying to get over the name (which I pronounce by its Japanese pronunciation Two K.O) but I hope the rest of the game turns out fantastic. I just need Warwick, Renekton, Alistar, Volibear, Rengar, Blitzkrank, Thresh, Vel'Koz, Annie, and Morgana.

Great video, love Illaoi. It sounds like the non-lyric parts of "Get Jinxed" playing in the background, which makes sense given it's a big, League themed song. If/when you end up making more Illaoi videos, it might be worth considering the Falconshield song about her, "Tentakill"; it is pretty different from Get Jinxed, but also a bit of a banger.
yeah i use different background tracks softly put in depending on the video. 2xko vids get get jinxed. I do not know the other song though i dont wanna get hit by copyright stuff lol
@@rooflemonger that's a good point, I don't know anything about all the absurd copyright nonsense that goes into making a video that won't get taken down, other than that it sounds bizarre and unreasonable.
Her animations look insane. Cant tell if some of her attacks using the tentacles r 2d or 3d or a mixture of both. Really cool looking character

Wow she definitely cool and badass i like it her tool looks useful could help those having trouble getting in or nasty setups.
I like how Nagakabouros seems like the embodiment of charity runs, only instead of donating X number of dollars per mile, it's X number of tentacles per whallop.

Project L is looking good
I wasn't super excited about Illaoi when she was first announced. I played LoL for a long time aggressively, but quit before she came out and her initial impression wasn't great. But now that we have actual gameplay, she strikes me as exactly the kind of character I like. I love setplay with delayed and disjointed hitboxes. Characters like JP, Cagliostro, etc. And I also have an affinity for Krakens, obviously.

Thank (elder) god that the tentacles can actually grab the opponent now. Cephalopods are the grapplers of the sea and it just wasn't right for her to not have SOME kind of command grab.

They need to speed up the production of the Netflix Arcane show so some us not so versed in League can get familiar with the characters. Look so cool
First character that makes me sure I'll be playing the game. I'm excited to watch it and try it but it's not totally my breed of fighter... But this looks very fun.
I was hoping they'd add more "niche" characters in League as a Niche Champ lover myself and Illaoi is definitely selling me. What a cleverly designed champion and as oppressive as her League counterpart which made me chuckle. Hoping for more weirdos next!

I played league once and I wasn’t a fan just because I thought the game was way too confusing and there were so many menus I just didn’t know what was going on but I got familiar with a lot of the characters because my brother was an absolute league fiend, grinded comp all the time. My wishlist is definitely thresh, velkoz, Jax, captain teemo, or hell even Dr. Mundo and hecarim would be cool too but hecarim would probably be impossible. I will say I have high hopes for the cosmetics. League has AMAZING skins and art work to go along with and in general all their other games like val always have quality stuff in the cosmetics department. So will not be surprised if that’s also the case for project L, I hope it is! It’d awesome if they bring over a bunch of the league skins

I played league for about 3 years and change. Stopped playing cause it angried up the blood too much. I started playing when Miss Fortune was about to come out as a new character.

I’m shocked that they let you guys see this character at all if she was in such an unfinished state. I just can’t understand what benefit it would be for the devs?
they showed us what they had and let us know who was finished and who wasnt. Was simple enough, its not like I picked an unfinished char and was like OH MAN THIS GAME SUCKS or something. What we did last year was not a normal media event, we were the first people to see the game at all outside of riot. Basically introducing the "fgc illuminati" to the game.
@@rooflemonger Yeah I watched your video on that event, I get that it was a special promo deal. And yeah, obviously you and everyone there were sensible and understand what “unfinished” means. I’m just surprised that the dev team didn’t say “nobody needs to see this character yet, we have plenty of other ones to show off”.
I guess maybe it’s a transparency that I’m not used to. I feel like most devs, of any genre of game, want to show off a perfectly curated slice and absolutely nothing more. This is the type of openness and transparency that could almost get me to preorder. But then this game is also free 😕 Just surprised by something that you don’t usually see from the industry, that’s all.
@@kode-man23 I think it helps that many of the devs are also FGC themselves. They just wanted to show what they had and were very excited to do so, even if everything wasnt all the way done

The one complaint I have right now with this is that the name is terrible.
Meh. If this game has almost 400 characters like they say why only put normal people there? I want to see some monster. Some weird stuff! Not normal person, and normal person with cat ears. Even some Tkken games have freaking monsters. Maybe those are the most famous characters from moba, the generic people that look like anything ever. I don't know nothing about those games but I know they have more crazy and interesting characters than person A and cat ears person B.
Man I hope they change the name back, this new name makes it look like a generic sports game.
