I love the: “this is a 2020s interpretation of a 90s interpretation of the Edwardian era”🤣
    I think this looked amazing!🥰

I love the Gibson tuck. I’m amazed at how fast you achieved that without a mirror. Rose’s looks are so beautiful and you pull it off so well! I like how you did the version of her with that green dress 🥰

In the Victorian era, which ran into the Edwardian era, beauty habits were much the same & similarly “disturbing”. They used arsenic in various forms to lighten skin. (Ate wafers, applied it in creams). Pale skin ;,made women look wealthy as though they never had to spend a moment working in the sun. Disturbingly, women romanticized the deteriorating look, leading up to death, of the disease Consumption. (Which today is known as TUBERCULOSIS) They wanted to achieve the “consumptive look” of the cadaver. (Watery eyes and translucent skin) So, not only did they ingest arsenic and ammonia to lighten skin, they harmed their eyes as well. They placed drops of citric acid or perfume in their eyes. “Belladonna” drops could be purchased at Sears. They made eyes watery much longer- they also caused blindness. That was considered the natural beauty look. You could also achieve the pale “dead TB victim look” w make up, but it was lead filled paint. After applying you couldn’t smile or it would crack. Women w sparse eyelashes and brows used chalk sparingly. Women who wore makeup were known as “trying to look beautiful”. Women who poisoned themselves were naturally beautiful. As you said the Edwardians were a bit crazy... so were the Victorians. 😊BTW YOURE HAIR IS GORGEOUS!

I'm here in LA also, and OMG the horror of the grocery stores. I needed to thrift just to counter act the grocery store effects. I hope we don't get a shelter in place like San Fran … I think it would be impossible to achieve in LA though. Been taking this time to sew and go thu the closets and clean and garden. I've given up on reading about the virus cause it's just freaking me out. The dogs and cats really do pick up on the human anxiety. Very enjoyable video! TY!
