Hey man, I have the same model( 7620) and I bought a 32gb ddr5 4800 soddim stick of Crucial RAM. I installed fine but my screen was totally black afterwards. what did I miss?

You just need to wait. After a few minute the bios will pop up with the message that the ram amount has changed

Thank you for this video. It's very helpful. In the video, you said 64 GB can be installed. Dell told me max RAM is 40GB. Can you please confirm 64GB works?

You are correct; the max RAM is only 40 GB. But they don't make 40 GB DDR5. So, you can't max it to 40 GB with a single DIMM. You'd only be able to install one stick of RAM which is 32 GB DDR5. The only way you could get 40 GB is by using a SO-DIMM. Standard DDR5 DIMMs have 288 pins, and SO-DIMMs have 262 pins, so you can only install the SO-DIMMs by using a conversion adapter.

@@lovedr606 I believe the Vostro 7620 comes with an integrated 8GB RAM, so if you add the 32GB to the 1 slot you will get the 40GB total.

Can't it work with dual channel? Because if you have 8gb pre-installed you can't go over 16gb without losing performance. Old Vostro models had at least two RAM slots.
