I grow carnivorous plants as a hobby. Many rare ones have become more available cause of tissue culture. I was curious about this.

So how common is it to either get mutations from tissue culture cloning or are what you're describing might be from phenotypic expressions hidden in the mother plants genome?

Professionally, Very very rare. Typically whatever you tissue culture is going to be exactly the same plant, as it's the exact same genetics, and exact same environments, so expression differences don't happen often.

If you don’t mind, where were you able to find the v. Frydek for $100??? I’ve seen tissue culture ones for $250 and full plants for $750

They were purchased at a local store in Canada. Tissue culture is slowly making waves now - depending on where you live I'm sure it will eventually start showing up in your area soon.

What about the nutrition-wise, is it genetically modified? If so, it's not ideal for the body and making body thrive is more important than making the tree/plant thrive in certain conditions.

No it’s not modified in anyway. It’s just propagating with much smaller plants. Also what do you mean about the body? Our body? This is for house plants (decoration)… not for vegetables ..
