What a blessing. His kind, even tonality of voice is healing. There is a steady stream of rejoicing coming from Jacques, always. Thank you for coming back
Yayyyy! I love this man! He is a beautiful human being! I hope to meet him one day and gone him a big hug and say THANK YOU! He has changed my life! Being legally blind, he has inspired me to cook for myself and to learn for my 1 year old son (when he gets older) i love you Jacques and Claudine!
Yes we are having our first and each recipe I get so excited to do with our child!!! I practice with his quick dinner recipes to able able to feed the family cheap and fast too :) hope your child is doing well 😁
Not only is this the sweetest video ever but have any of y’all actually made these? Considering the prep-to-enjoyment ratio, I think they’re actually the most delicious cookies I’ve ever had 😂 the second time we added a pinch of nutmeg and ginger in addition to the cinnamon and it was even better. If you sprinkle a little more of the sugar on them before they go in the oven they get all caramelly 🤤
I feel like comments like these would make him smile. He gives us a foundation for a recipe we can do at home, but always allows for tinkering based on personal preference. Anyone can follow instructions, but true living (and cooking) is felt, and adjusted as needed!
Jacques Pepin is just a precious human a kind and encouraging teacher. It's wonderful to see him teaching everyone again. I was a student at the French Culinary Institute in New York, he is a dean there he would often pop into classes give a quiz on technique or a lesson the chef instructor would step aside and let Chef Pepin have fun ,major plus for us. His good friend Andre Soltnre is also a dean there , they would teach that the simple dishes and treats are the best they often hold wonderful memories like his granddaughter or will have of him. So very happy to aee Chef Pepin teaching.
I’ve done half of this before but never to what he did. So simple and looks delicious! Thank you kqed for bring us some happiness during these crazy times.
Oh my goodness, my amazing Mother now in Heaven used to make this so many times. Now, remember that this is just after the WW2 end, sugar was "King" and just becoming available after rationing. Loved it, almost a staple diet. I am sure that is why my dentist lives in a huge house and goes on holiday six times a year!
As kids I remember me and my brother putting together butter sugar sandwiches when I was a kid and thankfully leave it up to Chef Jacques Pepin to make it taste year and more appetizing, thank you so very much Chef. Thank you
My southern American wife makes cinnamon toast for the kids’ breakfast sometimes. This is cinnamon toast level 100!!! Gotta impress the family with these one day! 😋
Who would’ve thought bread and butter with sugar could look so good? Jacques is such a master of cooking. He could take a green bell pepper and turn it into something amazing. I have always enjoyed watching him. I also liked when he cooked with Julia on PBS
I love you Jacques, and I’m so happy to see more of you and your recipes!! I am a vegetarian and aspiring vegan myself but you give me so many good tips and inspiration and much of it is fairly easy to veganize to my own liking!! 🤗🤗🤗 Thank you and lots of love from me!!!
We come here to get away from politics but it appears you cannot let it go. LET IT GO and stop bringing it up everywhere! Even here, seriously?! Unhinged.
Cinnamon & sugar toast, yummy! I believe we have all made this as children, but the strips & stacking added a nice touch. I would leave mine whole and eat it right from the foil that just came from the broiler :)
I've had cinnamon toast all my life. This was not really cinnamon toast. Cinnamon toast is crust on, toasted, then buttered and coated with cinnamon sugar on one side. This was crustless, buttered on both sides, coated with cinnamon sugar on both sides, then put in the oven for 10 minutes so the sugar melted. Then cut into four cookies each. In design we say God is in the details. These bread and butter cookies have double the sugar, cinnamon and butter, no crusts and I'm thinking double the flavor. Can't wait to do it!
I may have been toasting 2 slices of bread, melting butter in the microwave, smashing the toasted bread into the microwaved butter, and drenching it in cinnamon sugar... This seems far classier.
Read "The Apprentice" - to see what an extraordinary life he has led. He's "God's Gift" to everyone who appreciates good food. I need my tea and cinnamon 'cookies' right now !
I made these today with some leftover sourdough. Call them cookies and people will be disappointed. Call them Cinnamon Toast Biscotti and you've got the next thing you can charge a couple of bucks for at your overpriced coffee shop.

Adding the cinnamon for his granddaughter even though he doesn't like it himself is so adorable.
Jacques is back! I'm glad his recent health troubles have not sidelined him. I think his art is beautiful also.
I ❤ Jacques!❣
I don't know why they just don't put a camera in his kitchen and stream whatever he does all day. I don't care if he's washing dishes. I'll watch it.
Ain't that the truth? I'd give anything to be his neighbor...if only for just one day.
I would watch him boil water and feel like I've accomplished something grand.
Seriously me too!!!
You said it
What a blessing. His kind, even tonality of voice is healing. There is a steady stream of rejoicing coming from Jacques, always. Thank you for coming back
I'd love to hear him do an audio book.
Let's enjoy this beautiful man's presence as long we can...

The man can make something out of nothing...one of the best ever!
Is Jacques not the coolest guy around? He can do it all. I have watched him and Julia Child since I was a kid. Just a wonderful man.

So happy for this new Jacques Pepin cooking series!!! I absolutely love watching him cook and learning from him!!! Love his personal anecdotes, too!!!
I’ve done half of this before but never to what he did. So simple and looks delicious! Thank you kqed for bring us some happiness during these crazy times.
When I was younger my family made these all the time! I always loved the cinnamon. In fact it was called Cinnamon Toast. Dad ate it in a pool of milk.
I hope they make many more of these! Any food this legend touches turns to gold :D
I make these too. A little lemon or orange zest is.nice
For Cherie, bread and butter cookies. So sweet!
I'm prety sure he said "For Shorey" since that's his granddaughter's name.
Watching him cook with love, is art.
One of the most renowned chefs in the world making cinnamon and sugar toast 😊
Jacques is the O.G. Chef.

Jacques can turn bread into cookies, now that is a genius!
I’ve been a huge fan for 40 plus years! You truly turn goose $&@# into pate!!
Goose shit comes out as a pâté. Just sayin'.
So happy to see him. Hope there's more to come
We'll have new videos every day this week and then every Wednesday throughout 2020.
Jacques Pepin is great!

Love you, Jacques! :)
God bless him! He has given so much to us! TFS!
Much love to Jacque Pepin and to his family. He is more than a great chef to me, he is a kitchen staple like fine wine! Yvette M.
This simply recipe for Butter cookies has blown my mind. I’m definitely going to give this a try.
Minutes after watching I was making it...holy cow, sweet crunchy wonderfulness. Love these videos. Stay well.
There's something really comforting about watching Jacques' videos...a slower, gentler time, pre-pandemic, pre-Trump. He's the master.

Lovely recipe.
What a great idea!!!!Thanks Jacques!! I love that chicken plate at the end too! Always happy cooking when you have a chicken plate!!
Just made these now and they’re fresh out the oven. They are delicious!
My Arkie Momma made this for me as a child. I do this with saltines. So good. Thanks for the video.
Jacque, that’s cinnamon toast to American children. A favorite breakfast for me growing up! I prefer oven toast to this day.
I had to make these immediately… Delicious… Even with the crusts left on.
It´s so incredible. Awsome! Love Jacques Pepin. Regards from Brazil.
So simply delicious!
It reminds me of the cinnamon toast my Mom use to make, thanks Jacques!💕
Peut-on en faire aussi avec une bonne brioche ? Le monde, monsieur Pepin, vous remercie pour tout ce que vous nous avez fait.
Nobody like him!!! 😋❤️
When Jacques says one of the best flavours ever is a good bread with a good butter, and then he goes ahead and makes these... I'll be trying that.
Cinnamon & sugar toast, yummy! I believe we have all made this as children, but the strips & stacking added a nice touch. I would leave mine whole and eat it right from the foil that just came from the broiler :)
In the US southeast this is known as cinnamon toast
I learned to make it when I was about 5.... I'm a born and raised southener
@@c.j.forever7990 Same here!
in the west too. But usually I just toast and butter the bread as normal and sprinkle the stuff on top.
I put mine under the broiler and watch it carefully. Takes 2 to 3 minutes, tops, in my toaster oven. ♡♡♡
Yup I think it's a universal thing. Sometimes I make it on the stove top
that is just like the toast we would have when we were kids toast butter sugar and cinnamon
just perfect!!! :))
“Bread and butter cookie it’s really good.” 😊
The original cinnamon toast crunch!
How does this man take the plainest of foods and make me drool with what he does with them??
Yummm it's cinnamon toast.
Looks like Jacques is playing Jenga with the cookies :)
Jacque 😍

French churros 🤤
I'm almost more impressed with Jacque's home cooking than his professional cooking. Ok, it's a tie.
Cinnamon toast!, Such a dotting granddad ...
Thank you
His accent is so great.
Cinnamon toast 😁
That is like the cinnamon toast I had growing up

Looks like French toast sticks, guess they are minus the egg, nice
See video, like video and then watch video
Julia and Jacques always said, don't whine about the ingredients you don't have, make do with what you do have.
I may have been toasting 2 slices of bread, melting butter in the microwave, smashing the toasted bread into the microwaved butter, and drenching it in cinnamon sugar... This seems far classier.
Both ways have their charms!

It's short and sweet, but there will be a lot of them.
