You and Me is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, it brings a lump to my throat. The vocals by Lisa in Welsh have a lullaby quality. I would not be surprised of all the songs on the LP that one will have a life outside of it. Its an ideal 1st dance song at a wedding.
I think most miners knew that the day of coal was over. The industry had declined steadily since 1926, a few bright spots aside. They were hanging on to a security blanket for lack of any demonstrated alternative. Try were right. It took a Welsh Assembly and EU money to make any infrastructure changes worth noting in Ebbw Vale (roads, a passenger railway, technical college). UK government managed a Garden Festival. Ironically EV voted Leave.
Just received my Every Valley face mask and mug, love them thank you.. i shall wear them around the Rhondda Valley on lock down with pride.... hope your making a new album, could call it lock down and have Boris chirping in the background all the stuff he been saying, work but don`t work, use public transport but don`t lol
I'm about 10 miles from my nearest music shop (thanks internet for the lack of physical CDs) but I'm off out to get a copy now. Eich gweld yng nghaerdydd! From a top south Walian fan!
I don't think it will top RFS. Nothing will. It's a different album, a warmer album, more human and local. The subject matter makes it hard to get as excited as RFS. That doesn't mean it's a bad album, I've only had one listen and it's OK (if you skip the Bradfield and Brown tracks which has are the worst. No vocals please) but I think that Space + Man's endeavours in space + PSB + Cool = more than Every Valley. It's like if Gordon Ramsey made cheese on toast you'd think "fucking hell, it's Gordon Ramsey! He's made cheese on toast!" But at the end of the day, it's still cheese on toast. Or should I say Welsh Rarebit.
Great album and I saw the band live in Sheffield in 2022, amazing performance with EERA and the brassy gents!

already heard the álbum, it's wonderful!
I was in Ebbw Vale and active in politics at the time of the miner's strike. This talks to me about what was happening. Buy.

Tobias Johnson So the album slightly exaggerates the optimism by using add that were solving a temporary labour shortage by overselling mining.
Totally amazing, thanks from México.

Thanks for again a great record! Greetings from Bulgaria.

DOW777 huh?
Think he was querying Walian :¬)
Chris Sandiford Not sure there's much wrong with describing myself as a south Walian! A common term, here at least!

listening to the album for the 3rd time.. loving it except the last track!
alanroswell Disagree! I think it closes off the album perfectly.
I dismissed it early on but then listened to the album in full and realised how important it is to the album
Are you on about take me home?
Then you don’t understand the significance it has.
it's a decent album, disappointed a bit. all the guest singing tracks are terrible. but the rest is just mediocre.
