  • Welcome to sport crabbing in Alaska. Today we will travel to Homer Alaska and go crab fishing in Kachemak Bay for Tanner crabs. On this day the water was a little choppy leaving Homer Harbor, but it was much calmer out in the bay. This was the first day of three days of crabbing, stay tuned for days 2 and 3.

Always jobs available in Alaska! If you want to move up there start with a job searchin the areas you can afford the rent….

Great video, Ray! Can’t beat the scenery!
Quick cleanup on the 🦀..I had no idea that they didn’t have meat in the center.
    Crab rolls look amazing 😋🤩

It was a great time that yielded some good food. There was a little bit of meat in the shells at the base of the legs, but the majority of the meat is in the legs.

There is certainly pride in providing our own food and it was a fun experience. That may translate into appreciating dinner a little more. That said, I suspect we handled our bounty more carefully than a commercial processor. Plus it doesn’t get fresher than this. thank you for watching and commenting. 😁

I'm fairly certain that dungeness was a female.
Edit: after slowing it down its definitely a female. Still a cool video. Just don't want people keeping the wrong sex of crab.

Thanks. We threw all the Dungeness crabs back, they are not legal to keep in this area, but thanks for the correction. Now I’ll have to go back and rewatch the video myself.👍🏽
