Today, I go into detail about how we cleaned my flooded McLaren P1's sandy bodywork with a process called dry ice cleaning. To demonstrate how well it works, I took an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish Tremec T56 transmission that was in a garage fire and attempted to clean it up using this process. The results speak for themselves!
We then take a look around my friend Scott Ales' collection of cars and it's a trip down memory lane for sure!
Dude we are all waiting for this p1 build to get done. You said it yourself, no one has done anything like this..seeing the internal workings of a p1, freaking awesome. Thanks for taking on this challenge. I just can’t wait for this project to be done and see the result of yours and many others hard work. Drive it to a mclaren dealership and have them inspect it before it gets sold to your buyer. All jokes aside, its a huge project and its been quite a journey to watch. Thank you
I bet that wiring harness is totally kicking his ass, it gives me anxiety, and I'm not even working on it
Buyer? What makes you say he’s selling it?
What makes you think *Freddy* would EVER sell the P1? If he sold it, he'd never be able to replace it unless he hit the *Powerball* or something 🤣
Damn u folks dont know what sarcasm is lol
@@georgeforeman9366 neither do you apparently. 🤷♂️
Never thought I'd hear those words on here.."let's take that transmission out of the Prius." 😂
That made me LOL
Simpler times for sure ❤
My grandfather used to rebuild TR6s back in the 80s and 90s. He built so many cool cars like his 72 Monte Carlo and his 73 Chevy 3/4 ton work truck that he turned into a luxury ride in the early 90s. But the TR6 is the car that I always associate with him. It is so cool to see other people that are in to them.
I had a TR6, and I considered it a terrible experience. The Lucas electronics were very bad. In most of British Leyland, Cars were unreliable especially, if you put too many miles on them. They rusted pretty fast also. The Jaugar was saved by Ford, but they sold it after a short while of ownership.
Don't sleep on those Volvos! Volvo really knows how to make a car! I love them so much I have two 05 s60R and 07 s60R, overall great car always reliable and fun!
I love these extra episodes when freddy meets other enthusiasts / skilled workmen / experts. 👌🏻👍
here we see the diversity of Freddie's experience and adaptability, bringing a super sophisticated transmission to the CO2 cleaning shop in a Prius (!)
Man those MV's are INCREDIBLE!!
MORE BIKES!
I love that you went with gold fittings in the engine compartment. OG’s of the channel look at it as a throwback to the Lamborghini
I can't wait to see this thing out driving again, it's gonna seem like a miracle.
Dry ice blasting is a wonderful tool, but is not a do all solve all, i like a combination of dry ice blasting and walnut blasting for the best results. That transmission would look 2x nicer if you walnut blast it before the dry ice blasting. i use that method a lot in the motorcycles i build and restore. Those MV Agusta's are really rare bikes, just a tip from someone who got screwed by one. A lot of magnesium parts, you need to watch out the dry ice on those, if they get really cold they can crack since they are almost 60 years old and made with a material that is light but brittle as dry clay when it's old. it looks like he has a couple of 750S's, a 750S america, that Magni bike could be worth more than 100k if it is an 860 stroker bike. it could really be more than 500k on those 5 bikes.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.. expertise and knowledge. I love reading comments like this 👍
@@DesertEagleDutch I had the best luck in the world being an autistic kid who lived in the northern Italian countryside. had the opportunity to be around a lot of old grandpas with 50 years of racing everything under the sun. So I was lucky to be taught a lot of strange custom ways of doing things. I have a funny one for you. Before there was any dry ice blasting when I was around 10 years old, they would leave an engine block or a chassis that needed deep cleaning in a meat freezer overnight, and in the morning gave me a metal brush and a coat to go there and clean the parts off. Homemade "ice blasting" from the 90`s. I still do it with some parts in a horizontal big freezer I have. Another nice tip for your kindness.
@lucasdamask That's awesome. As an autistic myself I understand your detailed recognitions even more. I was born and raised a petrolhead. Lessons learned from our elders are priceless. Keep sharing these stories 🙌
As much as i agree with you, i doubt tavarish will get walnut blasting AND dry ice. Its a transmission that u can never see and dry ice came out better than it looked before
Great Video, Thank you for showing more of the Dry ice blasting and behind the magic on how things work. That's very cool collection he has there. I see a lot of people commenting about wanting to see the P1 build to be done. I understand this is no normal build like anyone has ever done before and your taking it to a level that no P1 has ever been taken before. So this does not happen over night when companies are building bespoke turbos and carbon fiber bodies that need to be fitted. I'm sure everyone is going to love to see the coming progress I know I am.
Don’t rush this, Freddy. I enjoy this journey from the sideline😎💪 thanks for all the content and good vibes🙏
Dude I love these videos. It's always awesome watching passionate people being passionate.
The Volvo appears to be a 1970 1800E. It 's a one year only model with high compression B20E engine and alloy wheels. The last two years of the car only came with steel wheels. It's also missing the side trim.
Unsubscribed…3 min out of 30 is about the p1 the rest is commercial and salesman tactics full of bs
@@nir255Whomp whomp
@@nir255 😂😂😂😂 must have hit your head when you fell off your bike mate.
Awesome tour! And,I finally understand dry ice cleaning!
I had this idea about 15 years ago, when I was sandblasting range tops and burners for a restaurant and my mind was wandering. I was saddened to learn it was already a thing, but also somewhat happy that my idea was apparently a good one.
In the Seal teams that unimog is referred to as the MULTI-TOOL
❤❤ I can’t wait till it’s finally finished
That Rolls is a stunner.
Those MV’s are amazing. Wow. Just wow. True Italian exotica and I love them ❤
Satisfying, that’s the word!
Scott seems like a real nice guy. Thanks for the little tour. Atb.
Notification SQUAD Have a Great weekend!🔥🔥🔥Happy Easter!🎉🐣🐥
That volvo is damn amazing
Wow those bikes ! MV Augusta’s!!!!
They are gorgeous!!
That Volvo p1800 is such a gorgeous car
You can Dry Ice just about any car, but not many cars out there more worthy than the P1!
PS That MaxSpeed shirt is 🔥
Thanks Tavarish for giving us a dope update.
Update of what?
Scotts Mv agusta collection is insane 😎
Superb, loved every min for this. Fascinating. So wish I worked on cars more!
12:00 I have the 2008 Bullitt, that is what the dash looks like, hand brushed aluminum.
Awesome and outstanding. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Scott’s collection is EPIC!!!
Can't wait for when this beast will hit the road!
The Suzuki samurai the coolest car in there, handsdown
Guess i'm the only one commenting on the UMIMOG but those trucks are beasts. It's the thing you would bring mudding to pull out all the other trucks out. And it has 3 PTO so you could make anything from this truck. From a snowplow to a buldozer to an army vehicle.
I’m a weird one here, but I love Unimogs. When my kids grow up I’ll have a Unimog, or two.
Ice! Ice! Baby!
Very educational about the Dry Ice.... and all those cars..... but do I love the Beetle!!! Such a classic ORIGINAL ! ! !
The V.W Beetle is awesome
That’s a cool shop.
Love the dry ice.
Thank you
😎😎😎👍👍👍
That Datsun 240Z is EPIC! I'd take that over any car in the garage. Well, maybe not that swapped Ferrari, but damn close. Beautiful collection. Jealous of the owner of that $71k Audi R8. 19k miles!??!
I know Freddy is cooking something out of this world for the main channel update 😂
That music at 1:20 had me feeling like I was back in my molly college days lol, very good.
Happy Easter tvarish
Expected a rehash of P1, but should have known better!
Glad I followed through.
Thanks Freddy!
Haven't those laser cleaners taken over the metal restoration game?
Beautiful classic cars. I guess Scott designed the dry ice machine upgrades to clean the carpet in the workshop each morning. Great video as usual - thanks mate.
Dude, collab with stradman’s wide body A12 super fast project
The P1 is coming along
@user-Legendnmyiwnmind Yeah I imagine you know how easy it is right?
@user-Legendnmyiwnmind he explained it on one of his more recent videos. They are cannibalizing the old wiring harness with the new harness they got from a different model. It is extensive and taking for ever to make sure it is done right.
@user-Legendnmyiwnmind ...spot on. I'm guessing he's realised he bit off way more than he could chew. Frankly, it's no longer a P1 seen as basically everything that made it a P1, is not being replaced. When you make a new video on working on the P1, and all it is a dry ice cleaning, you know things are not moving along well at all.
If it hasn’t been mentioned, the TR6 I believe is Snap Dragon yellow.
What an insanely interesting history and collection Scott has
[4:03] "Cold makes things shrink" ... yes-- just ask George Costanza :)
The TR7 came in the same colour too.
Dry Ice Transformations is a member of Dryce, if your in the Ohio area, we can help you with your projects.
Another amazing video , great to see. Other peoples collections. That you work with on your Chanel .
Finally Freddy bin waiting for this since last year brother!😬👁🤔🤝👌
MV Agusta are to motorcycles what Bugatti are to cars, marvels of engineering, hugely expensive, worth every penny, made to propel you to aristocratic speeds in a divine symphony of cylinders, gracefully and effortlessly.
Got excited that this was a new video on the P1 😂
Garage touring is awesome
Cool video bro thanks for the great content
My dad loved 240zs. I have core memories of laying down on the wood in the back and being covered with a blanket as a kid. We would get pulled over and I would have to play dead. Try doing that today... LMAO
yep hes the guy to dry ice for sure. what an explanation!
Your good people, love your channel.
I dig his collection
i will travel to see this thing once it is revealed!! Pulling for you, boss!
That volvo p1800 breaks engine in at 200k miles, it's a world record holder for the most mileage on the vehicle at 3m miles, 400k on those things when it's looked after is like 100k on your clean passat B8. It sadly even outlasted it's owner.
Yeh yeh, we know, we saw it in your videos ages ago
That dry ice would be perfect for DIY macrodermabrasion treatments.
Of all the cars in that room I would choose the Volvo p1800. It's been one of my favorites all my life.
wow, and you think anyone really cares?
I think you will find dimishing returns from videos like this Freddy. Cartrek is the future!
That tune during dry ice demo was sweet, were do we find that?
We havent had a mclaren p1 video in over 2 months. Hopefully the next one is coming soon. I cant wait.
There's a V12 308 build on Grassroots Motorsports that will BLOW YOUR MIND!
Since he dry ice cleans and makes it plus has the hundred grand bikes he should name the garage Grand Garage it would fit more ways than 1.
I think you're right Freddie, I owned a 240z back in the 80s when it was a cheap second hand buy! I read an article from a Datsun designer that the 240z was inspired by the e-type Jag. I guess he was thinking of the Toyota 2000GT (don't think there was ever an S2000 Toyota) but unlikely that inspired the 240z as it was only launched 2 years before - not really much time to copy it.
Lets go.... finaly a p1 update ❤❤❤❤
According to Florida Flood vehicle laws, the P-1 can never be titled. So even if it is rebuilt, he can't obtain a legitimate title for it.
@@ccnixon nobody cares
Been waiting on this video...
Not sure if the Ghostbusters ad I sat through before the video was a coincidence but dry Ice dude literally looked like a ghostbuster when he was in action lol
Oh wow those MV Agustas...!!!
Loving your vids as always I would love to do what you do if only I had the space keep up the great work and always look forward to your next episodes
The Volvo is definitely worth 20k. That’s a rare find
Scott has a very likeable way about him.
some excellent 2varish content!
The Bug is a '66 because of the pie plate light on the decklid unless it was changed at some point in its life
❤i used to own a 308.i loved it. Wish i still had it.
Freddy ! You’re a top man
MV Agusta are made in Varese (where I live) , a small city close to Milan in Italy. If you need any help I know someone who works in the MV Factory.
Look and see if Giacomo Agostini ever rode it, that would add 50k to the price 🙂
I had a 240Z bought it out of the show Room, i live in Canada and 2 years later it became a rust bucket , in 1972 it was ahead of its time, mine was racing Green
Can’t wait till that wrap is taken off and that exposed carbon is shown. Great work on this beautiful car Tavarish!
Good p1 update........
We liked it😊
Patience is a virtue, this car will be worth the wait.
Had a 240Z in high-school. Fun car
Great video.
Those 4 MV's are the craziest thing he has.
My very first car was a red '68 VW beetle, looked exactly like the one in the video, except the white wall tires.
The best thing in the whole video was the classic MV Agusta bikes! Those bikes are extremely valuable and have a cult following. If you know about bikes you'll probably never sell any of them!
Loved it, great video, buy the p1800!
dude ive been watching you since the gallardo hell before that even and dude its been so cool to see your channel grow and achive your dreams and i mean hell dude this videos been up for just an hour and its already got like 30-45k veiws dude, well done man youve come a long way and been through alot but here you are trucking through ill be starting a channel of my own soon
