I’ve had two Ealing’s this month and it’s not possible to make the time only the driver loses, give the same time as the other locals with 75 minutes London has changed 20mph etc and the traffic is crazy
They simply need the tag system to be split. A tag which entitles entry to the feeder park system. And a tag that allows for ad hoc pickups that only gets activated once they drop off with no returns and valid only for one journey per day. Easy.
I work Heathrow everyday and the jeopardy of trying to get back from an Ealing for example is so stressful and anxiety provoking. After all you’re just there trying to earn money 🤷🏼♂️ I think there should be an option of an extra 5/10 mins but at a cost of £3 off your credits that way Heathrow win as they get the gate fee you as a driver win your next passenger wins because they don’t have a driver who’s stressed and angry the only people who lose are the DVLA because we won’t collectively be totting up fines and points and as Susie says it’s quite a rare thing so it won’t really cause any backlog in the park at all
Very informative. Why can't we top up online for balance also times need to increase for local. The barriers should open om tap of card like oyster not wait foe sensor as they don't work from LEVC
I think that’s a good idea about oyster style entry. The method at the moment I believe is to curtail drivers sharing tags/cabs. The oyster thing would work but you would need more badge and bill checks on the terminals.
I have lots of questions because it’s difficult to understand any of this if you are not yet a qualified black taxi driver. What exactly is gate money? If Heathrow is a taxi rank, why do you need a tag to go to a taxi rank? Could someone please explain what the daily or even hourly costs are for going to Heathrow airport? What’s the Heathrow feeder park?
Not sure if that's true. You need to be careful because Heathrow have an ace up their sleeve. They could take away our plying for hire at the airport completely as a private company. And given half a chance i think they would
Recently received communication from a friend outlining a plain being overseen by suzanne sullivan to introduce parking wardens at Heathrow feeder park, in return for doing a 2 hour stint these wardens /taxi driver's will be rewarded by being given two rides, Firstly how are these drivers to be selected ie will it be a ballot? secondly isn't this creating a two tier system where it can take up to four hours in the park sometimes to do one ride, yet in this time these wardens will be or could be completing their second rides, I feel the need for this to be fully explained I remember the taxi Marshalls who used to work the terminals looking out for touts, these Marshalls were also rewarded with rides which i never agree with with, the amount of money being paid to use the park it should be HALs job to supply these so called wardens coming from the entry fee generated from the drivers, as Hal approach the LTDA because they do not want to finance these wardens and therefore looking at this as a cost cutting exercise but at the same time creating the possibility of conflict between drivers, I see there could be trouble ahead if this takes off,
OK i shall attempt to be a contrarian here on a subject i do not know a lot about, Firstly this is really a question for Suzanne. If you give the warden one ride then they may as well not work and sit and wait like everyone else. I think the second ride is the incentive and payment. If you employed someone not based on incentives how much would you want to be paid for your two hours? And finally HAL don't have to do anything it seems if they don't want to or don't benefit from it so it is left for someone to do. And double finally, what would your idea be?
@@WizAnn320 ive spoken with Suzanne and found her to be an extremely nice and pro taxi rep, there were things posted?, and as a cabby for well over 30 years I decided to go to the source itself, what I found was a total amount of crap set aside for this women who's only intentions is to assist and help others and to promote this trade, I do hope that those responsible will take a good hard look in the mirror and respect the work she's doing
It is a private system that Heathrow controls. But in the past when there were 26000 drivers everyone had a tag and Heathrow worked fine. I think it levels itself
Myself and a few mates ain't got tags, if someone comes up to any of us at a terminal after dropping, a quick look left or right and then tell the punter to jump in. It's only fair in my book.
I am sure there are good intentions, but until the TAG issue is resolved then distrust will continue. Remember TAGs & before that the card system was available to all, the odd problem but ok for decades. Who is opposing advocating for universality?

Great video! Very informative👍Suzanne a credit to the trade! Thank you 🙌 as for the other two..... 😬

Thank you Tony you are a credit to our trade

I have to admit I don't quite understand what you mean, but some how i feel its a good idea. that maybe needs more explanation

Put that in the idea box
how much does Ealing go with this new meter
Great informative video. How can I find out if my old tag is still valid as it has not been used for some time? Thanks
Hi Gary you have to go to the cabin and have them check it
Do other airports like Gatwick or Stansted have taxi ranks like Heathrow?
They have private taxi operators
Why is the feeder park much worse at night for drivers not being in cabs?
Not my forte
People disappear for a number of reasons..

I think Suzanne did say about why they shouldn't increase the local time

Airport Parking Corporation of America.
Thank you
Contradiction. There are not many Twickenhams, etc but the wait will be much longer if the time is increased.
You may be right

Forget about the tags and the system....
Whats the crack with Spongebob?
Sponge bob isn't real, he lives in the imagination of the drivers at the airport
I’ve got a tag only used it 3/4 times in 9 years. Got £20 on it will probably retire before I use it up 😅
Likewise
I belive there is legal way to force give more tag or claim later lost income

Ridiculous system of tags. Outdated and a closed shop. Any driver should have the choice of working the port

I totally agree .. and the people that complain that it happens are the same people that don't want tags... funny isn't it
Wouldn’t risk all the hassle for few extra quid. Each to their own this is what I think. B lucky all

You can lose your badge if you get caught picking up at a terminal. Badge gone
