    Good show Bill. The aspect ratio/screen size may give this cab legs. Ain't gonna lie, I want Glenn's new deck pretty bad. Sad day.

    The whole iircade situation turned out to be a big mess and I can understand why people are pissed off. But I can't stress enough the importance of what GRS is doing. Not only do you get a fantastic control deck, you also can add more games in addition to keeping the games you own. I really hope he gets the support he needs for this to move forward.

    I am sad about iircade but I think the modding community will continue to come up with new ways to use this machine. We don’t talk about Well Played unless to joke about it, but iircade will be talked about for years to come. I hope the other 2 companies take note of what iircade bought to the market and try to invest on that market in some way or form.

    Very sad to see iiRcade leave the marketplace. I have one of their consoles. Glad Glen's Retro Show was waiting, in the wings, to step in, and extend the usefulness longevity of the machine. As soon as I can afford it, I'll be ordering the new controller, and board. Thanks for the video.

    Sad day yesterday indeed. The iiRcade was always something special imho. The potential for an ever evolving library was always there. Every Friday I tuned in hoping for that Huge AAA title of my preference. Sadly it was never realized to the degree I had hoped. I still enjoy it immensely as do my family/kids. When Glen announced his deck/sbc, I was floored. I preordered immediately. Glen deserves some serious gratitude for this endeavor. Massive kudos to him. I sincerely hope he gets 500 plus orders. It would make the iiRcade exactly what I have always wanted it to be. I wish Jong, Michael, and all the folks at iiRcade all the very best.

    I realize that $299 sale was to raise money and clear out old products But being able to offer such a deep discount reeks of the mess Arcade 1UP does, where they charge way too much for new releases, and then they're clearanced for $50 six months later. If iiRcade had just gone with a reasonable $500 pricepoint they would have had more success.

    Bill. Another great video! It is a sad day that when any business goes belly up, it means layoffs and firings of hard working people who tried to make a company work. It seems that iiArcade was pretty much doomed but it took a while before the writing was on the wall. In hindsight, they just couldn't compete with Arcade1Up and AtGames, in which the latter is rumored to be on shaky ground as well. Then again, the home arcade market may have very well peaked. Maybe the GRSRcade will work? Only time will tell. But the reality is this: iiArcade throwing in the towel should serve as a warning to AtGames and A1Up that taking their audience for granted may have finally come back to haunt them. The home arcade market may have finally dried up. If what the 1983 video game crash has taught us to never take anything for granted.

    I still do not get why this and the Atari Arcade Stick are not offered outside of constrained "markets". The new panel looks great, but only available for one cabinet that is now over. Ditto for the Atari Arcade Stick, that is only offered at Micro Center stores and MC does not even offer shipping. Seems odd choices, but could be a logistics thing.

    GRS control panel is a go ONLY if they meet the 500 pre-order threshold... I'm not so sure there are ENOUGH iiRcade enthusiasts to purchase this. And I own a G1 iiRcade...

    IIRcade would have done better and maybe not have to go into Bankruptcy if they would have open up the IIRcade Gold cab to BYOG a year ago when they came out. I feel bad to see IIRcade go and the love and passion Jong had is sad. I was serious about buying the IIRcade if they would open it up to bring BYOG to their cabs. Thanks for the great video.

    I highly doubt Glens stick is gonna make a difference in the long run. Sure it sounds positive to conclude a somber stream with hope but a year from now more people are just gonna be mad continuing to spend more money and buy into stock going nowhere with products that just won’t matter

One question , as I understand the panel with have a usb for the light guns but if I have a gold , will I use the stock usb or the usb’s on the panel ? If this happens you save me from buying a 1up time crisis cab because all I want is the point blank series which should run on a pie I think. Also can we pre order the switch to go back and faith from our stock games ? That would be amazing and make this my number one can ! I could sell a few 1ups lol

    Mistake was making a gold cabinet and charging $300 more from the art licensed cabinets which only offered a $40 light strip and cheap sound mod thet wasn’t worth anything. The upgrade was a ridiculous decision. They were selling this initially at $300. Forget $500 the $300 would of reached so many homes. U need clientele not expensive gimmicks that have games that were mostly filler titles or boring. U can’t get someone to spend $800 for indie titles. I have no idea who ran that company but those decision should cost anones career ir should get I black Balled. Terrible decisions. Now I wonder if I can mod our cabinets and add games? I hope I have no idea how though.

    • @BillsRetroGamingShow
      @BillsRetroGamingShow  Год назад

      That was one of the points in the video - With the GRS Control deck you'll be able to add a custom SBC that lets you switch between your iiRcade setup and a custom setup of your own games. At under $250 it'll be a simple and relatively inexpensive way to mod the cabinet to do just that. Of course, you could always gut it and put anything you want in like a Jama board, Pandora's box or PC I suppose.

    They backed out because phase 2 (Android app) made no apparent business sense- already plenty of options to play those games. If iiArcade offered OTG they would have sold a lot more cabs, so more of an install base to buy their games. AtGames offers it and A1Up offers different more dedicated cabs. iiArcade was in between the two and not appealing to many beyond a smaller niche, which means a very small install base. Shame- since they have well built cabs!

      I've always said it's about the games list. If you like enough of the Games to make it worth owning, then it is a great machine. If not, then it really doesn't matter how good it's built or how well it plays. But either way it's sad to see them go.
