Arturia Essentials 61
Arturia Minilab mk2
Some of the products are linked below
The best thing about a midi controller is how much it adds to your workflow and how cheap they can be, with very little difference between cheap and expensive devices.
You can use them to audition sounds, record midi, create a pattern, test our effects, record automation and more.
The process is very simple and easy to follow but if at any point you are confused or it isn't working, simply drop a comment or question down below and we will be happy to help, as always.

Hi, I have a Keylab 49 midi controller that I bought it used from other people, how do I set it up to work with FL studio? I'm new with the record system...
You're amazing ! You're so crystal clear and concise. It would appear to me that you put a huuuuuuuuge amount of time and effort into arranging your words properly and logically before you even OPEN your mouth 👌👌 . It is hard for other people on RUclips to arrange the concepts and lay them out properly before they open their mouths. You're unlike anybody else out there who records tutorial videos 😁. You literally helped me to learn FL Studio in less than a DAY and I am Not even English speaking ! Hats off to you . . and keep it up 🙌 🙌 !
I know how to set midi's. I'm just here to like the video and support the channel 🙌
These tutorials are amazing. I'm already making music thanks to you!
Honestly Micheal you have tought me almost everything I know about FL Studio and Production at large.. Thank you so much..
I think this man has single handedly saved me more times than anything or anyone else in my life, which is insanly impressive.
Just wanted to say thank you for all the videos you do, you are one of my favorite teachers to learn from, you explain everything very vividly, in easy to understand terms and break things down nice and easy. I always leave your videos smart than before whether they are 2 minutes long or 20 minutes.
Dude literally just found your channel, you explain things really clearly. Subbed!
Timeless Music Thank you so much, I'm happy to help 😀
Thanks for the very informative video. I was able to master the linking sliders and knobs on my two external controllers. Just in case some on elses struggles with what I had problems with: the video does not mention setting each external controller to a different midi input port. This did not work for me until I set my input ports.
Now that last part you went over of setting up knobs and faders is literally overlooked by almost everyone.
Probably because every thinks it's so easy or common knowledge. Thanks.
I was struggling with setting up my arturia minilab mark 2 on fl studio 20. it was able to play midi keyboard in all my synth plugins, include sylenth1, but i followed the steps for enabling master sync as this video suggested, and that solved my problem, i can now fully control all of the dials and controls using the keyboard! Thank you, will pass on your video to several producer friends!
Bro in the last two days I been learning more about my equipment and daw with your videos then I have in the last 6 months. I’m not even joking well maybe im being a little extravagant but dude if I have a question about anything on the daw I can just watch one of your videos
Just wanted to say, in 2020 your tutorial is still helping people!! I was ready to sell my electric drums because I couldn't get them working with my PC after watching a thousand other videos!! YOURS got it for me! Thank you!
Clear and concise. Thanks. "Never as simple as it looks" That line just about says it all when it comes to this topic. BTW: Am loving your channel.
I've discovered an even more useful method using the user maps on my controller!
Just a little hint:
At 6:55 - in the current FL Studio Version 20.7.2 you have to click "Reset" and then "Accept". If you click just only "Reset" and close the window, the knob ist still linked to the parameter.
;-)
Searching for it... Since a ling time... Nailed!!!
If anyone wondering how to play the drumpads and keys at the same time from a midi keyboard which has both keys and drumpads (like i have M Audio oxygen 49) you can open the channel rack and select both the vertical rectangle boxes(found just by the side of the vst plugin added on the channel rack) by pressing Ctrl & shift on your keyboard. It will automatically assign the synth to the keys and the drum pad to the drum pads
What rectangular boxes ??
Merely selecting the instruments in the channel rack does not automatically assign them to the pads. Using FL 20.
I listened to the instructions. I changed some settings. It WORKED. I happy danced because THANK YOU SO MUCH :)
Thank you very much I'm new to this i got it to have drums playing with my ukulele when im playing with a looper pedal so I can have better sounding music.
Thanks again.🙂👍✌
THANK YOU so much that master thing was the only thing stopping my midi from working
This is the tutorial I have been looking for all my life!!! Thank you Michael!
Hey
Just to say thank you so much for all of your videos, I'm new to FL Studio and your videos are the perfect solution, I really feel like I'm moving now.
Huge respect and thanks! :)
thanks for all of your educations . these are so use full and gooood
Excelent tip, I have a Midiplus Origin 61 (a cheap version of M-Audio Oxigen 61), and a Novation Launchpad and always had the problem using both at the same time, thanks a lot! I´m going to test it tonight at home... Thanx x1000!!!
You know what would be nice, if you could click a "random link parameters" button on the plugins wrapper and then play about with your dials and faders to see what's been linked... would save a lot of time and be fun also.
the lighting is smooth here!!
Like video exeo got my keyboards up and running and now some sick tunes will be coming out soon D&B and garage 🎉
I searched so long for this and waisted so much time. Yours was so simple and it really helped me. Subscribed immediately! thank youu
Thanks Michael. You are the Best.

I don't know what to say. Incredibly helpful video!
Brilliant. Exactly what I needed to get started with this $5 Casio CTK-3200 as an input device

thx bro it helped alot more than expected
Awesome!!! That video helped me a lot thank you!!!
Thanks so much for this Video , It help me Alot 👍
No way! Ive just discovered a new world lol
This has been most helpful. I use Reaper, and have one of the mid-sized Arturias (sp?), but I have not been able to figure out how to get all the dials, faders, and the drum pad to work. I feel like this video has given me some ideas to think about when I attempt to set these items up next time I'm in it. Cool beans. -=B-)
Thank you for this video!
I really needed a help on this, thanks for helping
You are welcome :)
Hi Michael. First off, I'm truly impressed by the quality of your channel. It's absolute top tier! And I've seen a lot :-) I'm also grateful for all the knowledge you're sharing. Now, for my question, hopefully you or someone in the comments will know the solution.
FL Studio is incorrectly reading the pitches from the pads on my Arturia Minilab 3.
For example, pitch set to a pad on the controller is C5 but FL Studio plays C3. I tested a few different settings and it seems that FL Studio pitches the pads 2 octaves down. No issues with the keyboard by the way. The hardware script is up to date. Any idea what might be causing? Any info / help much appreciated!
this handsome man made me stop procrastinating. tks ! ;)
Dude. I know this is an old video, but this helped a lot! I know how to record instruments, but midi and electronic music is new for me
Great video! Thanks dude!
Everything seems to be fine when setting up only that when I press a key on my keyboard no information is being sent to the information box, its not picking up my notes.
same.
I am having the same issue
same did u find a solution guys ?
thanks so much still works in 2020!
Thanks. Really helpful
Great video, man! Thanks for this. Is there a way to save MIDI mappings across various projects? I've mapped a few controls from my Arturia KeyLab 61 MkII to Serum parameters and it works a charm, but wondering if I'd need to set that up every time? Cheers for all your content!
Thank you so much for making this video.
Couldn't have figured it out without this
bro your good asl at explaining things, truly appreciate the info.. your channel is AWSOME
Absolutely AWESOME....
I am so grateful as always...
Hi, I have a problem with my midi controller and sutain
When i press the sustain, sometimes it plays a note (usually E5) instead of sustaining. It's very annoying and I don't know how to fix it.
I appreciate every ideas and solutions. Thank you
thx
thank you , now playing with my father together !!
Such a clear and gentle video. Thanks bro
Thank you!!! I were looking for this everywhere
Any chance you could do a updated video on how to map the fingers pads to individual channels in the step sequencer.
Thanks for the support man ! You're helping me a lot and you were in the very short past time that I've found your channel . Now , I have the same type of midi controller like you had or still have : the M-Audio Axiom 49 . I do have some problems with Fruity loops . In your last video , about this subject like here , you were able to use the record , play , fast forward etc. from your midi controller . I tried it but didn't worked for me . And I have some other issues with my controller when using Kontakt . I can't assign my knobs , sliders to a designated knob etc of Kontakt instrument , using that feature " Link to controller " or "Override generic link " Another question for you that I have , if I may , is : How to reset the knobs , sliders using them for other purposes . Why can't I use the feature from mid out ,, receive notes from " other vst instruments ruther than my midi controller . Thank you in advance !
so helpful! thank you! :)
People need to hurry their asses up and get this guy to at least 2 million subs. Seriously. Lol
Incredible simple but awesome video, thanks ;)

Thanks man, this really helped me setup my axiom 49 in FL 20 (ironically the same midi controller your have lol).
Does it require the driver?
How good is this guy
Sweet. Thanks.
This guy is so helpful ong
6:30 you can move the parameter with your mouse, than click on the knob icon in fl (make sure it's orange) and right click on it. Then you press on "link to controller" and move the knob that you want to assign to that parameter
Davide_Nigro_deejay For some reason I can’t apply my pause or play button to one on my midi (AKAi Key-lab Essential 49) when I right click like you said it doesn’t give me the option to. Please help.
@@wr3nchmusic994 because that button is not midi assignable, this mean that the keyboard isn t pre mapped for fl
Super helpful! Thanks a million!
The camera looks great!
Four Wulves it's a big improvement on the old one 😊
Sir,
Akai MPK Mini MK 2 has piano as well as drum pads on a single hardware
So will we be able to use piano for synths and drum pads for Drum Machines at the same time ?
Please help on how to setup Akai MPK mini MK 2
I just bought the same keyboard I need help aswell
Same. Bump.
i’ve been use the mini 2 for a little over a year and from what i’ve read and experienced you cannot use both at the same time, but you are able use both once it’s set up, just not at the same time
@@zamaxbeats4967 ruclips.net/p/PLUInvvOJIzIkpB6w_h-Sch7WqqvmyropB This guy gets to do something of the sort but sells the Akai file
Thank you so much for this😭😭 you've really helped a lot
Thx again for the very informative tuts
thank youu!
How to set up two midi controllers at the same time
Yoel Diamante No worries, I showed that in the video didn't I? How can I explain more :)
Hi there,
I recently got the AKAI MPK mini mk3 and have been trying to set it up with FL studio. Thank you in advance for any tips and advice!
Essentially what I want, is to have different drum channels be mapped each to one pad and have the midi keys play some type of synth for instance. I want to be able to make spontaneous loops and just play around with everything. Currently, all I can get the MPK to do is to play only one channel on the keys which is fine but also only one drum channel at a time with different pitch depending on what pad I hit. When I got the keyboard, I thought I was going to figure everything out because I assumed that because so many people have it, there will be proper explanations online but apparently there's not?? Only some people selling presets without any explanation :( This video already heloed me a lot oth everything else, but the drumpad thing would be very cool to figure out how as well. Any kind of help will be highly appreciated :D
if you figured it out please lmk as well
Thanks man.
legend! thank you for your tutorials
Can you guys do a tutorial on how to set up multiple studio monitors? In The Mix
Great tutorial 😊 thanks.
please i beg you make a video on how to set up novation launchkey mini on fl studio 12 including drumpads and knob plzz.!😦😞😞😞
Go to midi settings and then select your midi keyboard and click enabled you are done !! Now select ur DRUM LIKE FPC FORM ADD SECTION
Varun Gupta you are a good person!
I would totally pay you to help me figure out how to quantize drums to do other types of rhythms like a shuffling type instead of just the basic demo drumming it has.
Thank you bro. It helped me a lot
Hello there. this is a nice video full of knowledge. but now I can't hear any sound from my pc but I can see it receives the midi signal
Hi Michael ! I love all of your videos!
Very quick questions: I have connected my MIDI successfully and there's two issues
1) The sound is awful, with no clarity on Addictive keys- how do I fix this problem?
2) There is too much latency...do I need to reduce the buffer or is there anther way? I connected my MIDI via USB cable...should I connect to my UM2 Audio interface for better results!
Would love anyone's take on this
Thanks so much!
Real good. Thanks a lot!
Exactly the video I wanted
GREAAT video man! helps a lot...
Thanks a lot
