    Just amazing 🙌🙌🙌
    I came from the Polyglots group on Facebook and your video made me feel like I've been wasting my time all that while trying to speak as much languages as possible 😂😂 You just set the bar too high, and it's very commendable, really!
    I only speak French, English, Spanish and Hausa fluently. Currently learning Italian and Arabic with a basic conversational level. I hope to achieve my goal one day, which is to speak at least 10 languages. I still have a long way to go, but hopefully, I'll there one day!
    You're proof that I can achieve it. Thanks for the video!

    •  4 года назад +2

      Thank you so much for watching this and for your nice words! I actually don't think the number of languages itself matters so much. I think what matters more is being able to forge connections with people and understanding their cultures through their languages. What are the languages you're currently learning? :)

    • @mohamadouyoussouf7262
      @mohamadouyoussouf7262 4 года назад

      @ You're definitely right. Establishing connections with people and getting to know about their cultures is what matters the most. But the truth is the more languages you speak, the more cultures you know/learn, hence the emphasis on the number. But the most important thing here is enjoying the whole journey and this is what I'm doing.
      As for your question, I'm currently learning Arabic and Italian.

      @ es impecable. El único problema de pronunciación está en el fonema /ʝ̞/ de "Castilla". Tu pronunciación ha sonado más a un fonema //ʎ// palatal lateral.
      Edit: realmente no es un error. Pero creo que la mayoría de los españoles lo pronunciamos así. Solo las personas mayores o gente del campo sigue diferenciando los dos fonemas.
      Antiguamente se pronunciaba distinto la "ll" (más parecido al portugués actual "LH") y la "y". Pero, por el fenómeno conocido como yeísmo, la mayoría pronunciamos "ll" y "y" como //ʝ̞//. Este fonema suena más fuerte y es central (el aire sale por el centro), mientras que para el otro es lateral.
      Aquí puedes leer más:
      es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ye%C3%ADsmo#:~:text=El%20ye%C3%ADsmo%20es%20un%20cambio,deslateralizaci%C3%B3n%20de%20uno%20de%20ellos.

    • @pablomorralla3256
      @pablomorralla3256 2 года назад

      @@JCcordobaa se te olvida que ningún acento es "mejor" que otro, está igual de bien ser yeísta como no. hoy en dia una gran porción de la población española no es yeísta, lo que pasa es que el yeísmo es la forma estándard.

So glad to have seen this video. I see we have a few languages in common which is cool! Great job. Also, I highly recommend Teach Yourself Esperanto for anyone who is interested in learning it. It took me about 3 months to speak it at a comfortable level by using this book.

      @ My native language is Spanish and I' fluent in English. I perfected my English this year. I've been breaking through with my French learning since last year and calculate, which I'll perfect my French next year. I already know that I've been lying forward with French learning that I decided to push forward with my German learning by comprehensible input, it is as strange and rare as me, that's why love it because it's a language that it's need and worth it to preserve, and it's like me. I'll add Russian to my language learning after having gotten fluent in French and speak German so well but, I know it takes loads of years. I'm only a 20 years-old Venezuelan language lover who wants to travel around the world to know loads of cultures and people but, I know I won't get fluent at once because I've got to have a bunch of language exchanges to perfect every language I will learn.

    Omg, I LOVE your accents in Spanish and German. They are very, very good, but not TOO perfect. Because, tbh, when they are too perfect I can find it a bit spooky. But yours just seem ideal to me. They just make you seem clever and cultured, without looking as if you are over exerting yourself, if that makes sense.

    But honestly what is amazing in that type of videos? Most of these people can speak 2-3 languages fluently 1-2 B1-B2 level, and rest of it they just learn by heart some sentences or maybe even read- looking at his eyes I wouldnt be surprised.
    Impresive is to speak at least 3 languages fluently, and 5 at the B2 level

    Hi Ala, Very impressive ! I am definitely sharing this video on my Facebook , because I have been asked many times how come an African like me speaks multiple languages :)So Ala Keep it up and thanks for sharing your learning journey with us. I'm not sure if I am a polyglot, but I do speak 6 languages, three native ones and three foreign languages (Algerian, Kabyle, French, Arabic , English and Japanese). I learned all of them because I somehow didn't have a choice, then I realized that I love learning more about them and improving them as well!

    •  4 года назад

      Thank you so much Zahra. Your words mean a whole lot! Learning foreign languages is truly an amazing experience! Greetings from NY!

    • @Wandering.Homebody
      @Wandering.Homebody 2 года назад

      Yeah, I think the definition of polyglot is at least 6 languages, so yes, you are a polyglot. I think 1 language=monolingual, 2 languages=bilingual, 3 languages = trilingual, 4 languages= quadrilingual, 5 languages =multilingual, 6+=polyglot, and I don't know, maybe 12+ languages? = hyperpolyglot?

    •  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for your comment! In Tunisia Tamazight is unfortunately almost a dead language. The little Tamazight I speak I learned in Morocco. I'm working on improving it by speaking to my Moroccan Tamazight-speaking friends. In the future there will be a video in which I speak in Tamazight. It's the language of my ancestors so I would like to master it before I share it with the world.

    Really? You have met more Africans who speak 6+ languages (the definition of polyglot, right?), than ones who speak fewer than 6 languages? That, honestly, seems incredibly doubtful. I have never, in my life, met an African person who spoke 6+ languages fluently, that I know of. All of the Africans I ve ever met spoke a minimum of 2, and a maximum of 4 or 5 languages, as far as I know, so, not a single polyglot amongst them. As far as I m aware I ve met fewer than 10 polyglots, overall, all of whom are European. More than half of all the Africans you know? Lol, come on.
