That was outstanding. Other than English, I'm fluent in Spanish and Catalan and have a very good level of French, and can converse in Portuguese, and that was absolutely spot on. Well done, very impressed!
This is how every "plolyglot" should make videos showing off how much languages they really know. You actually know how to think in the language, unlike others who just memorize phrases or read off a screen.
technically that is still speaking, and how can you prove they do that, unless you just think that because your linguistic levels are lacking severely so you think it is normalized to memorise lines for everything which then reveals your true self. C'est pas grave..... Ya bhim, joder...
👏👏👏You speak very well I could follow you in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and English this is my language I know, I'm Brazilian and I would like to became polyglot one day like you. Thank you so much, amazing!! 👏 👏👏
Thanks for watching! I'm happy that you were able to follow everything! :) Always believe in yourself and try to stay consistent and you'll reach do amazing! Consistency is probably one of the most important things in my opinion
Thank you for the feedback! I'll definitely continue to work on it! I want to see if I can completely lose my accent in German. It probably won't happen, but it's a fun goal! :D
great job. I started learning languages in 2005 when I found the How to learn any language forum. My goal was to get to a conversational level of fluency in 10 languages...Things didn't go as planned and I have been to busy for language learning hobby for years and just started to get interested in it again. This whole polyglot community on youtube has really grown huge. I have a bunch of languages stuck at a B1 or B2 level and my goal is to get to a C1 level. I would rather know fewer languages but have a higher level of fluency in each than to not be able to express myself in fully in one of the languages. The greatest part of learning languages is the people you meet and the friendships and the feeling of accomplishment you get when you reach a B2 level and everything starts to click...
Amazing! In the beginning you said you didn't have any special language skills, but I think you where just being modest and underselling yourself. You clearly have a talent for it. I'm Dutch myself and I'm fluent in English and also speak a little German. I was really impressed with your Dutch accent. You don't have the typical American accent that many Americans still have after living in the Netherlands for years. And your German also sounds very good to me. The other languages I don't know myself, but you sounded impressive in all. :D Nice job! Edit: I totally overlooked that the title says you're Canadian. Sorry! But many Canadians living in the Netherlands also have the same English accent to their Dutch of course. :)
Wow dude your German sounds really good, especially the accent! In fact, your Danish kinda sounds like from a German who has been living in Denmark for a while, which might make people mistake you for being German when you speak Danish with them haha. Honestly, I don't think they'd at all suspect you're Canadian which is pretty impressive! I'm part-German, part-Danish btw
That's super interesting! i've actually never heard that before, but that's still really interesting to hear! I'm looking forward to going to Denmark to test all of this out! I'm also happy because one of the first things I try to do when I learn a new language is to hide most of the influence from my native language.
An app/ Website that I really enjoy using for language learning is Lingq! Sign up using my referral link and get 100 free Lingqs! I used Lingq to improve a lot of the languages that I attempted to speak in this video. www.lingq.com/?referral=ThePolyglotGrind For Polyglot shirts, check out www.thepolyglotgrindshop.com Lingq is definitely one of my favourite resources for learning new vocabulary at the moment and I wanted to share it with you guys!
You have perfect accent in all languages! So amazing! Eu também me dedico à línguas. Mijn moedertaal is Portuguees. Ich spreche Deutsch auch :). Gut gemacht und mach weiter!
Oow that's awesome! I'm Brasilian and I'm try learning inglish but I was so sad with myself in my first time speaking with native! I forgot everything and I couldn't say anything!
I'll respond to both comments here, so as far as an app goes, I'm not really aware of any that I really like, but I do like a website called conversation exchange. It's great and free! Also, I do admit that there are privileges that naturally go with travelling to learn languages, but I didn't really have the opportunity to do it much until recently, so about 95% of everything in the video was learned without even leaving my home country. Most of it was honestly learned from my bedroom. I just did everything online since I wasn't able to travel much at the time. Hope this helps! :) Happy learning!
Your story with Russian is exactly what's happening over and over with my Swahili, not because of its difficulty but because of the lack of compelling media. Congrats for your French, you made a couple mistakes but it's 100% understandable.
Gooooood jooooooob, Brakaboy! 😍 I liked your video so much, especially danska-manska 😁 I wish to give you 10 likes I stopped in Russian will be "Я перестал" или "Я остановился"
You are truly inspiring. I’m on my journey to becoming a polyglot. The first language I’m currently learning is Italian. May I ask, do you believe it’s possible to learn more than one language at once, or is it best to learn them one at a time?
I'm curious how you learned "tror" as a word for "think" in Danish, in most cases you used it, it's actually incorrect. "Tror" is literally "think" (as in, using your brain to make a thought) - But you used it in the form, as an example: "I think the Danish language sounds good" - In this form, when voicing an opinion, you use the word "synes": "Jeg synes det danske sprog lyder godt." - If you use "tror" in this case, like you did in the video, it actually has the nuance of "I have never heard the Danish language, but I think that it might sound good."
Det er super godt dansk. Lige en ting, dog. "Jeg tror" er mere "I believe". Det du vil sige er "Jeg synes", men enhver dansker vil fint forstå hvad du mener 😉
A bit of both! I'd like to learn more languages, but I need to improve my Russian first. After that, I'll decided if I should improve the levels in the others or if I should add a new one. Czech and Ukrainian have been calling my name for a while, so I'll have to wait and see :D
I've just recently returned to my language projects. I must start production. Tons of prep' work done. English (trade language) thank you, um German (Deutsche) danke, äh French (Français) merci, euh Spanish (Español) gracias, um Portuguese (Português) obrigado, hum Catalan (Català) gràcies, um Mandarin (普通話 [Pǔtōnghuà]) 謝謝 [xièxiè], 嗯 [ń] Italian (Italiano) grazie, Dutch (Nederlands) dank u, um Danish (dansk) tak skal du have, um Russian (русский [russkiy]) Спасибо [Spasibo], гм [gm]

What is more mindblowing than your language skills is that you actually find danish to be a nice sounding language.
Joking! Awesome job.
This is how every "plolyglot" should make videos showing off how much languages they really know. You actually know how to think in the language, unlike others who just memorize phrases or read off a screen.

Do you recommend some app or website to find natives speakers for to talk?

Just binge watched a bunch of ur vids. I noticed u kinda lost ur Toronto accent.
Hahaha I didn't even know that I had a Toronto accent, but I'm kind of happy that I lost it!
