Ace simple tips i can think of are: -try shielding instead of rolling. don't hold it for a long time though, just press it when you think an attack is coming. -only jump off the stage once so that you save a double jump to help you get back with. sometimes you don't even need to go after your opponent that hard, some characters like ridley can just "gimp" them by spitting his fireballs at the right time. -depending on the character, just shorthopping (attack + jump) can be a real help, especially if you do it to snuff out certain options the opponant has. Marth's shorthops in particular are very good to keep up your spacing.

@Primo Antonius I don't usually look at my gsp and I don't do a lot of quickplay actually so I can't tell if my gsp is good or bad It says how high are you in the ranked list but its not an actual definition of how good you are at the game
@Primo Antonius dude my Daisy gsp is higher than my Peach even though they're the same character, and people can spam with little mac and get elite smash but get their ass handed by anyone decent. I see bad players at 4 million plus GSP, so honestly all I see is YOU patting yourself on the back for having decent GSP when you have nothing else to prove you're good.

HyperGhost kill confirm means doing a certain move that keeps the opponent in place to kill them, much like Little Mac's down tilt into his full charged KO punch. it's also encouraged to do combos that link into each other very easily for maximum damage, like Mario's repeated up tilt, or something more like Roy's down throw into his up special (both dont work as well at higher percents fyi which means you'd do better going for the kill)
Additional example for 28: Play a different game that isn't Smash Bros. For example, God of War, or Call of Duty, or even Fire Emblem. And I actually think that by playing God of War, I got a little better at Smash.

I'm glad you decided to upload this. I've been actually somewhat attempting to take Smash more seriously since Ultimate is so popular on the Switch and because I am less busy than I used to be, but also because I am into doing live streaming on Twitch now and somehow it's sort of motivated me to get more serious into the game. I used to play in Brawl tourneys, but I never attempted any in person ones on Smash 4, but I did take on the Tourney mode at least. It would be cool to succeed in Smash Ultimate tourneys even though it doesn't seem likely because personally I feel I'm not quite skilled enough as I've barely ever won any tourneys before, but it's still fun and I'd enjoy trying it out and doing my best.
I don't know if this can help, but I started getting better results after I began playing rhythm games last year, specially Osu!, this helped me to get better reflexes and to focus more during my matches, specially to pay attention in my opponent

Learn your character's attack, defence, recovery(like the Pikachu demonstration) and counters. Know you can lose, and that's ok, don't get stressed, take a break. Win vs computer level 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, and so on until beating the highest level. After beating that you can do team battle 1 vs 2 lv1 2 3 etc with friendly fire on, then off then 1 vs 3 lv1 2 3 etc.
no one follow this pls, you need to fight real players since the mental aspect of smash is why pro players are so good, computers will choose random options, this is why sometimes you'll find yourself hitting the computer everytime succesfully and the other time your getting absolutely clapped. Fighting more then one computer at the time is even more stupid as it won't help your skill fighting one player and you will never fight against several people in a competetive match unless your into doubles matches.
I'm an SSF2 player, but find your advice very useful. I can't afford a Switch so SSF2 is the best I've got (sorry Sm4sh, but you don't make the cut anymore). I really appreciate your videos, and will now subscribe.
I think my biggest problem is staying consistent. I'll win many matches then lose a lot as well. This helped with motivation for my first tournament though. Thanks for the upload 👍👍

I play brawl as i dont have the switch just yet mastering the whole cast of brawl and am used to adapting also this explains why i bodied my friend in a tournament where we each picked 10 of our best characters and the last two were my main and the mii brawler i made he immediatly went with the brawler as he can't play ike and knows i can get some cheese
#2 I feel it usually varies on the person when it comes to whether to fight with someone who is much better such as a top player or play someone at the same skill level. For me, I learn more by fighting better players such as ranked or top players. When I fight top players, I get the feeling of pressure in the matches and it really encourages me to learn.

Osu! is great for improving reactions and rhythm, playing it genuinely helped me get from bronze to platinum in overwatch
osu! is the best game for improvement in your reflexes. I play it to improve my sight as I am very delayed in actions.

also this explains why i bodied my friend in a tournament where we each picked 10 of our best characters and the last two were my main and the mii brawler i made
he immediatly went with the brawler as he can't play ike and knows i can get some cheese

#2 I feel it usually varies on the person when it comes to whether to fight with someone who is much better such as a top player or play someone at the same skill level. For me, I learn more by fighting better players such as ranked or top players. When I fight top players, I get the feeling of pressure in the matches and it really encourages me to learn.
