The first thing in this video is a picture of a silver Park Avenue. I owned one just like it with the same interior as the Park in the video. It was very smooth riding and comfortable. I made more than one winter trip from Michigan to Florida in it. I'd love to have one just like it with today's technology.

GMC WAS PUTTING INYO DA CHEV CAPRICE A THIRD OF CADDY SINCE 1971 IF YOU TAKE NOTICE OF DA FRONT GRILLE I READ DAT IN A CAR MAGAZINE FROM DA 1970S. AND WELL BUICK AND OLDSMOBILES WERE IN DA CADDY CATAGORY AS WELL , BUT OLDS 98 WAS FIRST TO TRY OUT FOR CADDY A YEAR BEFORE AND BUICK WAS APSO JUST AS SMOOTH RIDE AND LIKE GOING FIRST CLASS WITHOUT PAYING DA FULL FARE.

carburetors, mechanical distributors, 20+ gallon gas tanks, 16mpg on a good day, no anti-lock breaks or air bags, ugly 5mph bumpers, neo-last flexible fender extensions to fit the bumpers. They look inviting and they were comfortable and easy to drive, but there were negatives that came along with them. I had a new '76 Buick Riviera, been there - done that.

In l8 '75, I saved my $$$,& got my a deuce and a quarter(225)'76 landau coupe. I was able to order many options because of it being a 225. Astroroof, fiber optic lamp monitors, 60/40 power driver seat, light vanity, chrome Buick rims, but, I had problems with the original UNIROYALS, so, I switched to VOGUE TYRES from JR78-15 to LR70-15 they were expensive but, even with the factory smooth ride, it improved even further. Cornering Lamps & that molding the same as the 1 on video & it all added to just a tick over $9k. It had the limited slip but the laziest gear ever. I, drove up & down the east coast w/6ppl very comfortable on the vinyl seats. Mine was Pewter, maroon triple pin stripe & interior. The power trunk was as big as mine 1st studio apartment. Got it sold @ the 70k miles, because my mechanic told me hard core repairs were due. Never enjoyed a car like that again til '96 Caddy w/LT-1. again, missed those beautiful, awesome land yachts. No more 3 across in the front. Never again.

As a collector of 1976 Buick Electras, I'm curious if you know why this particular Buick has the bumper guard option on the rear bumper but not the front?

@@omar559ee Cool. One of my 76 Electras has the option and the other doesn't. I much prefer them without like the front of your car but it is not as simple as unbolting the guards. The the rubber strip that runs the entire width of the bumper is a completely different part number between the 2 cars and finding one without the option has proved impossible. Like you, I was also missing the little chrome trim piece that mounts to the rear bumper filler like on the left rear of your Electra. Another nearly impossible part to find! Beautiful car!!!

    • @truckerkevthepaidtourist

that would probably be the Buick.
typical Chevy just pump the living shit out of it and it probably start right up.
the Buick I would say would probably take 2 cranks and 1 start and die
then would probably idle up even smoother than the Chevy

This Buick was a C-Body. Same as the Olds 98 & Caddy Deville/Calais, and very similar to the D-body Fleetwood Broughman. The 75 & 76 Buick Electra's were the largest hardtops GM ever made, and longer then both the Olds 98 & Caddy Deville/Calaisand, I think it was 1/10 inch shorter then a D-body Fleetwood Brougham.

The Buick was a C-body. Shared it with the Olds 98, Caddy Deville, and slightly longer D-body CAddy Fleetwood Broughham. The Caprice was a B-body, same as the Buick Lesabre, Olds 88, Pontiac Bonneville. But both the Buick and Chevy are very similar cars.

Don't ever drive those cars on ethanol contaminated gasoline that people put in their Echo EPA death bubble cars. You must always buy boat gasoline non-ethanol or any carbureted car with a metal gas tank and mechanical fuel pump otherwise you'll be replacing those pieces over and over and over
