  • We needed another chicken coop and run. The box said it was good for six (6) chickens. This thing is small but oh so CUTE!
    I am sure we will use it for baby chicks, as a brooder coop, or as an isolation for wounded or sick chickens.

    Project's ganged up on us. If this coop was made for 6 chickens, ours live in a mansion! I hope it works out for us. Now, off to finish other projects!

      Hi!!! We have missed you! It is the cutest LITTLE coop! It didn't serve its purpose but will be great for momma and chicks later or as an isolation coop. Poor Rob still had to modify the large 😢 coop.

      @Blissful Acres Off Grid Homestead, nice. I am interested in this model but would it get pretty wet during heavy rain with gaps around doors and the slide out tray?

      @@B00kMaiden The coop and run is adorable and well made. It is not big enough for four chickens as they need room to roam. It might work if you free range them and bring them at night but not if they will be in the coop/ run full time. Would love this kit if is was alot larger.

      @@blissfulacresoffgridhomest2098 My wife and I bought this coop about a month ago and have six chicks coming in about a month. We assembled the coop shortly after we got it and I thought the same thing...no way this coop and tiny run are big enough to accommodate six chickens full-time! I'm currently working on an 8'×10' supplemental run framed out of 2'x4's and enclosed in hardware cloth and chicken wire. We have raccoons, fox, coyotes, and hawks out the wazoo for predators, so no free-ranging, but I think we can make six chickens work with the enclosed supplemental run. For using this coop only, I would keep it at 2-3 chickens max, perhaps 4 bantams.

    You go! The Intl Space Station should be able to spot it from space, LOL. Love seeing all the trees you've got going, makes your place seem like an oasis. Are you on a well or do you have to truck in water? Our trees are really starting to turn gold, and our Myrtle the Maple kind of turned reddish then shed her leaves. Hey! I just bought this coop for Christmas. Soon to be new time chicken owners, how many chickens do you think it should hold? We don't have the right space for free-rang chickens so we are only looking at breeds that do well in confined spaces.

    • @blissfulacresoffgridhomest2098
      @blissfulacresoffgridhomest2098  3 года назад +1

      Hi Sarah!!! Isn't that little coop the cutest thing? We can't free range either. For happy chickens you need about 8 square feet per full grown hens. I suggest 2 or three midsized hens. No roosters. If you keep plenty of food and water they should do well. Go with a small Breed or quail and you could maybe go with 5 or 6 comfortably. Who've thought chickens needed so much space?
