Just ordered one as a handheld portable GMRS to pair with my Midland MXT275.
It's a unique radio . But I personally belive it is beneficial to have the btech gmrs pro.

The BTECH GMRS PRO is a nice radio. Very easy to program and operate. There are few things that I wish that this radio had. For example, BTECH could have added MVA for vehicle use or base station use. I really like the ability to add or change channel configurations on the fly. As for scanning other bands, such as railroad or Amateur radio. I do wish that it was able monitor DMR and NXDN, since railroads, such as Amtrak CSX and Nor Folk Southern will be switch to digital in a few years.

so with this being a android ios app, there is a way to modify it to work with a truck. i plan on geting some equipment here soon and testing it out, i will post a video to my page of the exspeirance.
According to Part 95, GMRS data radios are required to have a non removable antenna, and can only be a handheld.
Get an BTech DMR6x2/6x2Pro
I just recently got this radio. It’s got an awesome feature that I didn’t know about until after I bought it. In general settings in the app there is a switch called audio relay and it can record for 30 seconds. You can use it as a simplex repeater. Pretty awesome radio.
Gmrs was not difficult. Hard part is teaching your family about rules and call signs. It is doable. I decided repeaters are not part of the plan, just provided lists of meeting places and gave them a radio. If my area gets open repeaters like AZ i will reconsider. Not a fan of pl repeater access codes. In an emergency this will make things worse. I did make a deployable mobile parrot repeater. This works fine.
I had the Btech GMRS Pro and end up giving mine away. I'm not sure if I had a bad radio or what but it would make a sound when transmitting and receiving like someone was rubbing a finger on a wire brush. I also had some issues hitting some repeaters that are close to me.

In the app there a scanning button.
If you want to use it with out the app?
You will have to program one of the keys using the app to be able to scan using a key on the radio
Get ya the ED FONG jpole and his rollup GMRS antennas!!!! Wattage is meanngless if you have a junk antenna!

Connected to the others (Rogers, tontitown, Winslow and Huntsville) but didn’t hear anything back so I might be out of range. Got a btech v2 looking to upgrade stock antenna soon

There is programming. Will need to enter the tones along side the frequencies to be able to hear and key up repeater
Check your antenna before any plans on purchasing equipment to extend your range. They’re starting to glue the antennas down where other ones the antenna simply will not come off something with the FCC. Not being happy about whatever it is they’re never happy anyway.
Bought this radio a week ago, the "glue" was basically non-existent.

today's scanning is a thing of the past.
I did purchased a uniden scanner and it blew my ears off.
there were 10k transmissions coming in constantly one after another one while I only had 2 ears.
I couldn't grasp to what to listen to.
worse was when 911 call arrived in my
Neighborhood I couldn't locate that reception amongst the midst of them all.

I got the UV 5R8W And I can listen to fire And police In 2 different countys ems I only listen to Police dispatch And the laws communicating As a matter of fact I'm listening to them right now my UV 5R8W Is unlocked 2023 model i got 2 of them.
Most Emergency services have upgraded to a trunked system that is usually encrypted
No. You'd need a dedicated digital scanner with trunking and simulcast capabilites if you want the best scanner experience, clarity, and system/department options.
@@lynneftw Most Emergency Services use encrypted digital communications. You would need the correct type of equipment as well as the encryption key, or it will sound like that locked radio that John McClain picked up off of the dead terrorist in Die Hard 2.
What would be better Vero vr-n75 or Btech GMRS Pro?

So in my opinion the btech gmrs pro is going to be more suited to Americans and that btech customer service in in the United States. Other than language there no difference. Same freq range

I read a comment saying the Vero vr-n75 is the HAM version of the BeTech GMRS Pro but I don’t know.
I want a radio to keep track of my Buddy when we go riding. He would be in front of me & for some reason he pulls off into the trees where I drive past him. I don’t know if something had happened or what & I want to look at the radio to see where he’s at. Also to call out in an emergency.
I have a Ham radio to call out in case of an emergency & there’s a lot of HAM repeaters where I’m from but I only found one GMRS repeater that’s 25mls away but don’t know if I can hit it in the mountains.
One of my friends convinced me to get a HAM radio & wanted me to get the license. Why should I get the license when I mostly text him & I’m not interested in talking to strangers. Not many people have HAM licenses anymore where I’m from & I haven’t heard anyone on the local repeater for sometime.
Anymore I can get on top of a MT & get cell service most of the time but it’s down in the canyons I worry about.
I’m thinking of upgrading my phone to one that has satellite communications & that will give me peace of mind but I never ride alone.
The GMRS Pro seems to be a good radio from all the videos I’ve seen so far.

@@smileysun9212I'll be honest, if you don't learn how to use ham radio for an actual emergency, then it won't serve you well during an emergency. Many people buy ham radios expecting them to just work during an emergency, but 144&440 have different uses on different frequencies. If you are interested at least learning about emergency communication, each year in June is Field Day.

Will the location still function properly on cell app with No phone signal ? We use our radios in area of no cell signal.. we keep Offline maps download on cell.
yes it will work, no cell service required.
Just tested it. Yesterday. It does work and will update location on a downloaded map with no cell coverage as long as you key up . Might suggest not updating on a repeater channel
Have you made any changes to the antenna yet?
So the antenna was not glued as most have said it to be.
And using a antenna other than rubber duck, will increase quality. As long as you stay with in range of fcc wattage allotment

Is that the HT applicaiton?
yes it is.
The HT app and BTECH gmrs app look almost identical. This radio works with both. The network feature has been disabled for the gmrs app. The APRS feature of the HT app requires a ham callsign. But other than that they're identical.

Does this use the same location transmission protocol as the Garmin Rino 650 or is it only compatible with the same model of radio?
So it is mostly used radio to radio same make and model. Most companies want you to purchase more than one of there units with these capabilities.

They're different protocols.
According at several posts, they use the APRS protocol, which means you need to set your handle as your call sign, to be legal.
Can I use this instead of cb radio I'm a trucker
Unfortunately no.
Cb will still be widely used in your profession.
You can use gmrs radios should you come across areas that have gmrs repeaters and you have time and waiting for a load.

So my thoughts is this. After working in a industry and have delt with otr drivers most places use cb while you are on there property. So it would be very beneficial for you to have a cb. However having a gmrs or ham radio would be great during your down time.
For you I would suggest having both.
Cb for the truck and a handheld gmrs radio would be ideal. But it is up to user to decide what is applicable for there own situations

Yeah. Don’t care about being compliant. There is an unlocked version of this radio but the app sucks

@@theamateurprepper6414 Why are you presenting these as "Emergency" or "Safety" radios? These radios are reliant on repeaters, which would be a foolish thing for a volunteer to maintain in SHTF. They aren't monitored by any emergency services. These are two watt radios and not FCC approved. Removable antennas. And a reliable range of about a block and a half. You cannot talk to most repeaters you hear. They are much more powerful.
You don't know any of this? That is very frightening. You can kill someone who feels secure around those things. And they "transmit" not "Broadcast"... They call it that for a reason.

@@HarryHamsterChannelREACT actually monitors many different radio services around the US. And other groups like ARES & RACES may monitor other services as well.
Be careful, FCC Part 95.1787 states that, (4) The antenna must be a non-removable integral part of the GMRS unit. Also, you only broadcast on commercial communications. Amateur, GMRS/FRS, MURS, CB you only transmit. Thanks for sharing.-Scout
Yes. I am aware. With the antenna. But for emergency use it does not apply. I would weather have it never use it than need it and not have it
Also this radio only has the gmrs frequency and I only have grms license. So armature band is not applied
@@theamateurprepper6414 I was just saying that the term "broadcast" is only used by commercial communications. Amateur, GMRS/FRS, MURS, CB use the word transmit.

That’s only if you’re transmitting data on GMRS. Your regular analog GMRS radios that doesn’t apply to. FRS radios however must have a non removable antenna.
That radio is junk due to can not remove the antenna
They are just following Part 95 rules.
Fcc does not enforce any rules. if people can use amps that put out more than 100k on the CB band they could care less. we have 4 of Michigans largest GMRS repeaters and everyone uses ham radios like the yaesu FTM-400 or an HT like the Yaesu FT5d...
Hey just had to cover my end. Not everyone wants to break the rules of engagement. What me or you do should not influence there bending of the rules.
@@theamateurprepper6414 well, FCC doesn't enforce any rules. I've been dealing with them for years and one of them told me they could care less. the airway is a free for all at this point.
The FTM-400 and FT5d will not transmit on GMRS frequencies without a MARS mod.
Be careful. If you are a pest on the air, the FCC is starting to crack down. If you continue to ignore them and cause interference to good operators, they can take your radio. I hope what your doing is worth it.

FCC cannot and will not arrest you. If you are sticking with GMRS, go ahead and break the rules. I don’t have a license and use GMRS regularly. FCC won’t do anything
They can, and will IF you basically act stupid, and cause a lot of interference to others. The FCC has remote monitoring sites all around the US.
