    Great job explaining the functions of this radio. BTech should have a link to your review on their website. You did an outstanding job showing the uniqueness of this radio.

    Really appreciate you demoing the messaging feature and GPS stuff. Most other reviewers only have one radio, so they don't show any of the cool stuff. I'd love to see a follow up video where the two radios are a ways away from each other and you can see the movement on the map.

    Well, this portable definitely peaks my interest. Especially since you can program it with your phone. I'm old school... if I can't FPP it or use my phone, I won't have it ! Think I'll wait for the "newness" to wear off & the price come down, just like with the Baofeng ar152. Now, add digital and GPS to it, call it the DAR152. I used the PRC152 in the service, and I'm comfortable with it. I also live in "Hurricane Central" so the ultra large battery capacity is appreciated. Speaking of which, are spare batteries for this B Tech easily obtained ? Enjoyed your video

    Anyone know how to load a group of them back?

      I think you can uninstall the app and the reinstall it. That might get all of the channels back. Also resetting the radio back to its original settings might solve the issue.

    Greetings, great walkthrough. Do you have any idea if the BT function will pair with something other than a phone app, for example BT motorcycle helmet comms where you could perhaps push to talk with a buddy on another bike with this radio? I have used HHs with a wired PTT and wired mic in the helmet but BT would be outstanding, thanks!

    The radio works better on Android. On Android you have a PTT button on screen that routes through your bluetooth headset or car audio through the app and to the phone. The iPhone app lacks this functionality.

    • @chrisseidel8999
      @chrisseidel8999 6 месяцев назад

      Yes. If they are both paired you can text from phone to phone with the app (not the native texting app). You can also text radio to radio but doing it that way takes forever. The FCC does limit how often you can text though.

    This is like some sort of comedy radio. For $160 to get you on the hook for more non-standard accessories. Nice adapter! Worst idea ever. Buy eight UV5R's instead. They're just as complicated, and by comparison, disposable. Is that cheap screen even sunlight readable? Will yours ever be used outdoors? That's one of the important points you glanced over. Out of the box, with no software, is this albatross of any use at all? A tactical disaster. If you need a PHONE to use it, WTF do you even want the radio for? For the cost of two of those, you can buy a pretty good cell phone, too. Of course, considering the operators' desires to keep people OFF the GMRS frequencies, maybe it serves a purpose. I hope you got these free, because somebody sure got ripped off.

    • @WJ6FRadio
      @WJ6FRadio  Год назад +5

      Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. Yes Mine have been used out doors in fact nearly every day. I don't have an issue with reading it in the sunlight. You don't need software to program these radios. It can all be done from the radio in short order. I show how to do that in a RUclips Shorts video. Phone not needed for programing, but it does expand the use of the radio with the maps that are available. I am not sure which operators you are referring to that want to keep people off the GMRS frequencies.

      yes the are a Chinese typical cheap overpriced junk.
      but what's there on the market offering
      1 usb-C charging port?
      2 cellphone integrated app to use it with?
      and no u don't have to have a cellphone to use it, it makes it way easier to read and type text messages and program it cause of keyboard.
      3 screen out in the sun is great, no comparison there.
      4 live gps.
      5 water submersible 1m - 30min or so.
      they are good junky radios.
      expansive?
      wait till u get to a HAM-FEST, see their prices there.
      hamfests are a real rip offs.
