Gmrs was not difficult. Hard part is teaching your family about rules and call signs. It is doable. I decided repeaters are not part of the plan, just provided lists of meeting places and gave them a radio. If my area gets open repeaters like AZ i will reconsider. Not a fan of pl repeater access codes. In an emergency this will make things worse. I did make a deployable mobile parrot repeater. This works fine.

Awesome review! I ride a motorcycle and want a GMRS Pro to communicate. Good to know I can mount the radio on my bars and then be connected to my helmet. The audio would be awful through the radio but through my mic and speakers, it would be perfect.

Why is your app different?

I had the Btech GMRS Pro and end up giving mine away. I'm not sure if I had a bad radio or what but it would make a sound when transmitting and receiving like someone was rubbing a finger on a wire brush. I also had some issues hitting some repeaters that are close to me.

At 1:54 you all of a sudden get connected showing on the screen a group of channels, but you don't tell us how to connect to that group.

Hi, I have an iPhone and for some reason I’m not seeing the same options. I’ve been trying to connect these radios to some helmet Bluetooth comms, but cannot get it to work through the helmet speakers.

What was the "other" app you were using to "disable Tx" on the other Btech? Does that other app work with the PRO?

I love everything except for the non-removal antenna. Deal breaker. They should have made another version, too. Yeah, I've seen some videos with antennas forcefully removed with void warranty warning. Who wants a radio with a 9-inch antenna permanently sticking? Crazy.

If you are offline how do u select the maps u want, or if it does it automatically select which saved map? Where is the upload map? long press or double clicking does nothing.

That radio is junk due to can not remove the antenna

I love mine use it daily to charge my phone and stuff great product great guy that makes em. You just can’t go wrong with this I am off grid and I use the box to charge all my stuff and charge it with a small solar panel

Received the GMRS BTech Pro. I want to upgrade the antenna but can't get the stock one off. It seems BTech is more firmly affixing the stock antenna. I don't want to destroy anything inside. What to do???

Check your antenna before any plans on purchasing equipment to extend your range. They’re starting to glue the antennas down where other ones the antenna simply will not come off something with the FCC. Not being happy about whatever it is they’re never happy anyway.

FCC cannot and will not arrest you. If you are sticking with GMRS, go ahead and break the rules. I don’t have a license and use GMRS regularly. FCC won’t do anything

AFAIK Technically a Ham license doesn't give the ability to use GMRS want to use both? 2 licenses. Also Tx on GMRS requires part 95 cert. Of course, in an emergency..... or is Uncle Charlie going to show up if you do it?
