    I'm a Canadian and so glad you discovered inuit art! Woodland style, indigenous art is very famous also. Morrisseau is most famous of the style. Glad you were enjoying life slowly. Learning fast doesn't always mean done richly or deeply

    • @AndreaAlexander
      @AndreaAlexander  8 месяцев назад +2

      Oh my gosh Morrisseau's style is AMAZING! Thank you for the inspiration!! I had a gut feeling that the prints I found were indigenous from the Americas and was so surprised to see them in a second-hand shop all the way in the middle of nowhere, Scotland 😅 I'm sure both Morrisseau and Pudlat will end up in a future moodboard of mine someday 🤣❤️

      Emily Carr is another artist, even an art school named after her, on west coast. Talk about deciding to experience art in the slow way, her story is fascinating. The Group of Seven would be our most famous artists. Enjoy the world of art as you live

    Ethereal mystical Scotland! Land of the shaded faeries 🧚.
    I was so delighted to see that you’d posted a video. Being taken along on your journey is such a joy.
    World travel most assuredly affects our creativity. All the places you’ve been blessed enough to visit will color your life aesthetic.
    Looking forward to your next one. I’ll likely rewatch this one because I’ve seen all the rest. Thanks for sharing.

    This was a really fun week. I loved the mill tour. I like your color choices very much. Tea is my beverage of choice, so I'm glad you're enjoying it, too. Thanks again for sharing your adventures. I'm still excited for your journey.

      Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️ I've always liked tea, but somehow this experience made me appreciate it SO much more. I think another part of it is that my dorm didn't have great heating, so I often also used it to keep myself warm 🤣❤️

    I loooove this whole Scotland adventure! It hurts my little European heart to hear you speak about how stressful New York is compared to Scotland. Watching your old videos i always used to think about how insanely busy you were compared to my own life (Art history student in Netherlands and now Belgium). Fast-pace New York looks and sounds absolutely horrible to me, and I wonder how you will feel about it when you return to Amerika after this trip. Take it easy! Life is long (as long as you don't die from stress hahaha), and thank you for always teaching and inspiring us through these videos 🥰

    I love your vlogs. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us, and also thank you for touching on the pace difference between America/NYC and Scotland. I lived in London for a year, and though the pacing wasn't super slowed down, the headspace and priorities were so, so different. Like, having a beer during a lunch break was completely normal, but when I mentioned this to an American professor, he was clearly knocked sideways by this lol I hope you're doing well and look forward to anything and everything you're sharing with us

    Another fun and really interesting video. Love what you're doing in the sketchbook, how you narrowed in on one palette then expanded on that. And the yarn you "created" and used in the computer program to generate a (computer) weaving mirrors the 3 dimensional aspect of some of your experiments in your sketchbook.
    Loved loved loved your Serbian sweater/coat! Is your family of Serbian background (you said your mother sent you a care package from there)? I googled Serbian weaving and found some beautiful examples. Nice jacket she sent you with those bright pink accents!

Thanks for ideas.
