    americolor is water based, it can be used in fondan, macarons, royal icin, etc., and color mill is oil based, ideal for buttercream, chocolate, ganache, they are very different products that cannot be compared why the result will always be what we are seeing 🤪

      The first one was thicker even though it was one drop so she has to put in the same amount for the second one.

    the color mill colours were beautiful, on the bottle and in the bowl. I have a box of Americolor food colouring and I found the color dot on the bottle wasn't very representative of the the actual colour of the dye

    Need advice…After watching your video I was sold on Colormill for my first set of food colors because I thought it would work on everything since they advertised that way and because it’s oil based and good for chocolate. But when I went to purchase it I noticed they now have a water based line called “Aqua colors” because they claim that oil based colors spoil royal icing and macarons. I was hoping to avoid buying 2 sets of colors but want to be ready for any project. So do I have to get 2 sets and would you still recommend Colormill over the others knowing this. And can I ask why didn’t you just use Americolor Flo Coat that is supposed to turn water based gel colors into an oil base for candy making? Chefmaster also has a version of Flo coat so is it better to buy a gel set and the additive to make it oil based? So many options.🤔

    Luckily I happened to see your video when I was searching for best food coloring. I’ve watched another video from RUclipsr that recommended AmeriColor brand. Now I can see the true colors of both brands and I have change my mind. Would you think Colour Mill colors be fine with Mascarpone whipped cream frosting?

    • @mouasweets4112
      @mouasweets4112  2 года назад +1

      Yay! I’m glad this helped. So I still love my americolor but when it comes to Swiss meringue buttercream, fondant, chocolate it’s colour mill all the way. I’ve never used colourmill on mascarpone before but I did on the whipped cream frosting and I had to use a lot and it was somewhat bitter so I had to add more powder sugar to balance it out. But I also feel like it would work though because butter is oil base and you have to use butter with the mascarpone before you fold in the whipped cream frosting. I totally want to try it now.

      this is from the colour mill website..... What can I use your colours for?
      Use Oil Blend to colour Buttercreams, Chocolate, Cocoa Butter, Ganache, Cake Batter & everything with delicious Butters & Fats. Aqua Blend is to be used with baked goods that are oil and fat sensitive such as Macarons, Royal Icing, Meringue, Fondant, Jellies and Drinks! ............ they have oil based colour and also water based colour

    Hi! Have you tried the colour mill with fondant yet? And for regular buttercream do you think colour mill would also work? Also, for the red in red velvet do you think colour mill or it doesn't particularly matter?

    • @mouasweets4112
      @mouasweets4112  2 года назад +2

      I have tried it on fondant and it’s great. The color stays pretty true, but I should mention that I made my own marshmallow fondant and used the colour mill on that. I think any buttercream with oil base works well just not with whipped cream frosting(my mistake). I don’t think it matters but in some cake recipes it does call for oil which would great with colour mill.

      @@mouasweets4112 ooo that's great! I plan on making my own fondant as well. It uses marshmallow fluff instead of melted marshmallows, and also uses wilton fondant in the recipe as well.

      AmeriColor is water base which is why the color the color doesn’t stick out as much. Colour Mill is oil base food coloring. Oil base food coloring is very prominent compared to water base food coloring.
