I rode this the year it opened and I’ve been doubting my memories of the exit being like a funhouse. Thank you for validating my memories of it! I knew it!
"Never sleep on Novgorod!" Me and my friend made the decision to ride Novgorod before Kärnan which not only gave me a way better look on this shadowed masterpiece of a ride, but also hyped me up even more for Kärnan! Me: "THIS WAS SO GOOD WTFF!!! MY LIFE'S COMPLETE!!!!!" Friend: "Ya'know Kärnan is supposed to be better" Me: "Can one die of happiness? I hope not" So I usually tell my friends to try Novgorod first :> Glad you had a great experience on some of my favorite rides ever!
Like I said previously, not the biggest fan of Gerstlauer. (None in my Top 100 and approaching 700 credits.) Karacho had a great beginning, great launch and then does what most Gerstlauer's do, becomes a little rough and janky in an awkward way. Hopefully this isn't the same with Flucht Von Novgorod. Karacho only had a lap bar and this has over the shoulder restraints. I see the potential with Karnan, I'm just a little skeptical about this ride other than the launch and theming which I expect to be top notch based on my previous experiences with other Gerstlauer's.
It's kinda bumpy, but not to the point, where it becomes really uncomfortable. I didn't experience any headbanging on it. The theming and the launch (as well as the drop) are certainly the highlights and standout features of this ride, but it also has this absolutely ridiculous ejector airtime hill after the launch, and a heartline roll in the outdoor section. In general you shouldn't underestimate the sheer speed and fast pacing of the outdoor section, since I always find that it doesn't really come across in povs of this ride. And also of course, this launch really packs a serious punch, especially since it comes completely out of nothing. Fun to trick your friends with ^^
Pronounciation was nearly on Point! As "Novgorod" is a town in todays Russia it might be pronounced completely different but then we all pronounce it wrong :-D
@@coaster365 now that you mentioned that I checked on that and yeah you are right, apparently did they rename it in 2021 from "Fluch" to "Flucht" and I like that:-) I was wondering anyways why all the coasters themes always have to do with curses, demons, etc.,its always dark, I don't know if that is for the rise of adrenaline to make the experience more exciting...

That’s honestly a good call!! This is really such a sleeper of a FANTASTIC coaster!
I'm trying to picture the madness that would ensue if Disney or Universal added a slide and maze to the exit of a ride. I love it!
Somebody would get hurt and probably sue 😛
@@coaster365 Very true!
Sold. Looks great Bryant. I've heard both are great rides and some do prefer Novgorod. Also, hi Gabby,Jenn and Barbora!
I still can't pick which one I like better! I think we need to do this trip again! 😎
We do!!! ❤️ They truly are close!
Počkej, ty sleduješ i tohle? A tos tam jako byla s nima? 😮😮😮

@@Marty_NZ oh yeah!!! We cant do it without you Marty!! 😎

I literally say “Flucht DE Novgorod” every single time. SOS.
So I’d say we’re even for all my HeidEE Park mentions 😝

I undersold in the review how good the section in the dark is for Novgorod, actually found this to be smoother than Kärnan!
Not janky in the good Arrow way, right Alan!

I’ll take a nearly!! 😂
But the wording is wrong, its called "Fluch",which means curse, "Flucht" would mean escape
@@Tryingtobeequanimous haven't they used both words in this ride's history?

Escape from Novgorod
I’m always impressed with how quickly you respond by repeating something in the title 😝
Same park, but wrong coaster. Karnan is the top!
Wait, what’s wrong? I gave Kärnan a higher score so I’d agree haha
@@coaster365 This is one of those times that I should have watched the video before commenting.
@@coaster365 alright, I watched. I think you rated Karnan 0.02 points higher. I guess we're in agreement by 2 hundredths of a point.
