- Take a back seat ride on this old school Vekoma looping coaster. It used to be known as Ninja before going over an extensive refurbishment and retheme- it rides a lot better now!

Some of the best near miss elements out there of any steel coaster
@@FlexFlavor On CS is it cause of the hangtime
YES
*The best
Those headchoppers look crazy 😱
Dude vekoma has got to be one of my favorite manufacturers. Every ride I've ever been on made by them has been a banger...literally and figuratively.
This ride is so much better than Ninja used to be. A smoother experience and not as much head banging
Marathoned this in the early 2000s when it was Ninja. After about 15 times, my head and back had enough. Still would ride it again.
I remember riding this with my brother back when it was called The Ninja. It was my first looping coaster and it was mind blowing. It’s still a fun coaster to ride today. Rode it last year with my kids, and they were ecstatic about it :)
This ride is alot better than you think it is by looking at it, it's amazing how much of a difference those trains make
Person: how many headchoppers do you want?
Vekoma: yes.
my first six flags when I was 13 years old. Now I'm 34.. wow.. and my love for rides never changed lol
Blue hawk is the best ride at six flags
NOT as bad as people say it is! I mean it does have some Verona roughness but this coaster has gone through 3 remodels so, it also has the most inversions in Georgia 👍
SFOG is my home park and this ride is my guilty pleasure. The refurbishment, new paint, new trains and new restraints make it a much better ride than Ninja ever was. Ninja used to be a ride you’d avoid but Blue Hawk, it’s a fun ride that you can marathon if you want because lines tend to be very short.
And now that GASM has been retracked, that section of the park is relatively enjoyable now and not just Superman.
Loved it as Ninja. Love it now.
went on this when it was on Wildwood NJ, awesome Vekoma!
When was that? In the early 90's? This has been at Six Flags since 92.
@@dextermorgan1 it was at dinsosaur beach from 1989 to 1991. Dinosaur beach was located where Morey's piers is now.
@@RapidZCoasters Nice! I never knew that.
One of the best looking coasters on the planet
Its painful and horribly profiled. Layout wise though, its pretty great. Would be amazing to see Vekoma build some crazy layouts like these w their new track and engineering.
Be back on this in about a month. The front I thought was rough as hell, but the ba k row is definitely best.
i rode very back , it isn’t rough it’s just not smooth???? it’s smoothly janky…. i much rather ride a boomerang
I rode this ride when it was called ninja and they didn’t call it ninja for nothing! That thing beat the living crap out of me and I took a Tylenol ASAP afterwards 😂
One of the better Vekoma's out there
The top of my phone got chopped off just watching this
It’s a stiff and strong ride which is what makes it fun
For some strange reason I wanna sing A Kiss From A Rose by Seal going up the lift 😂😂
The old Kamikaze. ^^
I remember this one as ninja…new restraints gotta make it better…my head would be hurting after two rides from the banging. Still love it though!
I always forget this coaster exists
so the million dollar question. is this a smooth vekoma or a rough vekoma. i'm heading there next year, and just figuring out whether to do it asap, or it can wait ?
This is a fairly smooth coaster, no headbanging because of the vests. But like an arrow looper, it is going to have a couple jolts. Even though this is Vekoma.
I personally do not like this coaster. It isn't smooth imo. The addition of the vests did mostly eliminate the headbanging. But you might as well hop on it once if you're already in the park. Some people really like the ride.
It’s funny I was there the other day
It’s the Velociraptor coaster from the “Vacation” remake! Should have sung “Kiss From A Rose” while filming
I kinda miss them old school head banging coasters. Not too many left.😅
Thankfully they added vests to this one with the redo
A Train isn't the biggest fan of this one
hey taylor are u gonna be uploading vlogs for the europe parks?
At least in its current incarnation, might this be the best coaster existing from the 1980s?
The Chainlift sounds like of an Arrow Looper.
A beautiful coaster just because how it sits over the water. Could be a great coaster if it wasn't so rough.
Its a lot smoother now, lot better than it was.
@@mr.froglegs I ride it every time I go. It's still rough IMO but nowhere near as bad when it was the Ninja.. still a few spots that'll jerk your head bad like after the last corkscrew.
@@ave0828 It's a lot smoother towards the front. The very back is rough but bearable.
Sleeper hit. Is it comfortable?
Yes
It looks like these new trains still have a problem with wheel tollerance, I can see the car slamming down when coming out of an inversion, meaning there is a gap between the upstops and the rail, a common issue with Arrows and older Vekomas. It makes that coaster look so rough with the trains able to rock and shake so freely
@Arrow Dynamics Inc. Actually they don't, hell Steel Vengeance has spring tensed upstops to keep them against the wheel, most modern steel coasters have little to no gap between all of the wheels
It always will because of track tolerances. I don't really care because it's still an enjoyable ride
That goudurix taste in it
It feels a lot faster than it looks on camera trust me
Must need a butterfly element on an inverted coaster
I wonder what Vekoma was on when they designed this
LSD…. Nah, maybe Ibuprofen this ride pulls no forces at any point. But inverting was fun i guess…. Still would want to marathon Batman though.
Old Vekoma is unwilling to Arrow, but not close enough to be Schwarzkopf.
The bending is actually did right, but the transition between it was still questionable. So you got ride that could be good, but still not yet, which is frustating
It's the slowest lift hill of any coaster I've ever ridden.
The beast is typing…
Does thus feel like an Arrow Looper?
Better because it has the new trains and doesn't bang your head
Which came first, Arrow or Vekoma, because this is very much like an old Arrow, even down to the signature lift hill sound.
Arrow came first!
Arrow. Vekoma actually STOLE Arrows patents for their track and trains when they sold their rides in Europe and they created the ever popular Boomerang with them and cut off Arrow shortly after
Thanks for this discussion I was thinking this was an arrow coaster as well. Track design/construction, lift hill sound, etc. but the track layout seems better than an arrow cookie cutter style elements. The transitions seem smoother.
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv They kinda "stole" it, but as I understand it, Arrow taught Vekoma how to manufacture track back in the day to help Arrow install rides overseas. Then Vekoma just realized they could build rides themselves and went out on their own.
First, also nice coaster
For everything that it has going on, it still seems kind meh and kinda slow. It seemed like other than some laterals, there really wasn't any airtime. 😕
whats with all the over georgia vids
They probably are in Georgia for a while and want to get content out for us
Why not?
Because it's a great park?
I remember when this was Ninja, aka The Worst Coaster I've Ever Ridden(tm). I guess it's better now?
It's alot better now. I always make sure to ride it a couple times when I go to SFOG
The new trains make a huge difference. It's still got janky transitions of course, but everything else is relatively smooth and there's no headbanging thanks to the new restraints.
Trust me itstop1 for me
I NEARLY MIDSED the video, get it? Yes? No?
Lots of cool head choppers but my ears hurt just watching 1:50 and 1:54!
No more headbanging thanks to the new restraints!
@@fredwardandthebear3192 Wonderful. Good to know when I go sometime.
That transition out of the corkscrew sure looks like a headache to me....just saying.
This coaster might not suck as bad as it used to but it still sucks. I always skip it when I got to SFOG. Even if there's no line(which there never is)
This thing hurts…… Bad…….
All aboard the Pain Train
The new trains barely improve it
I can't express how much I hate this ride... Just a miserable ride experience for me.
i was so disappointed, this thing is just kinda mid.
