Always enjoyed having breakfast with Ray Rayner on school days when he was on WGN-TV back in the day. 🥯

Ray Rayner and a host of other children's shows bring back a lot of wonderful childhood memories. I never missed Ray Rayner before going to school. I'd get to watch just a couple of minutes of Garfield Goose as well. WGN-TV was like home for me. I'd even watch Orion Samuelson on Sunday mornings reading the farm reports. Ray represented the golden age of not just Chicago television, but of the city itself. I'll never forget Ray becoming the official mascot of Slippery Rock College/University and the strange occurrence of Ray's dream about a man with a very strange name; Phinney Agnozzi. A man with that actual name contacted the show while Ray was on air if memory serves me.

We took our stepmother to Fisherman's Inn in Sugar Grove years back. We sat down and ordered our drinks and I heard that famous distinguished voice at the table behind us. Orion Samuelson was there with his family. And yes, that's his real voice.

Always loved the random camera pans while Ray sang...These clips are priceless, many thanks to Fuzzy for bringing me happy memories of my childhood! One of the small pleasures in life.

Img I watched this every morning before school. Then came home for lunch and watched Bozo Circus!

Fred Rogers, Ray Rahner, Morgan Freeman, Rita Moreno, Spencer Milligan, so many great roles models we had as kids. Thanks for this video. Ray's singing of "More" made me cry. What a great song for a great life. :)

Cuddly Dudley, turtle races, cartoons, craft projects (we always watched to see how bad he would mangle everything up), reminders pinned to his jumpsuits, and Chalveston The Duck chasing him up the ladder. I remember Chalveston before he was so aggressive (different duck then?). I once heard or read that unbeknownst to Ray, the studio crew, as a joke, would get Chalveston agitated before letting him loose so he would attack Ray. Ah, fun and happy times, take me back.

My brother and I joked about when Ray died, his casket would be made of popsicle sticks and a gallon of glue...

Though I watched Ray Rayner and Bozo, I think it's unique the way the Merrie Melodies opening tune was used to start and end Ray's show with.

There's something weirdly ASMR about this. 🤔

Yeah, wonder if this demonstration of Mr. Rayner's was a forerunner of all that.

I would love to see the one where he had the big barrel and he was given bicycles and watches away

Oh please, just keep the Elmers glue out of his hands! He always used too much glue. Was soooo funny.

Is his intro and ending copyright? I believe it belongs to bugs and daffy

I'm sure the producers of Ray Rayner & Friends were aware of that, they did pay for the rights to use the snippet.

He must've had a deal with Warner Bros., he played their cartoon shorts too.
