Great video Troy! For future attempts, it would be cool to be able to see the total amount of points you have at the top of the screen for the whole video especially if it was dynamic and changed as your place shifted.

Hey Troy! I know this is a mario kart 8 deluxe video, but I think you should do an all tiny titan knockout tournament! You rarely ever chose the tiny titan and I think it would be very entertaining. Just an idea I had. :)

It would be interesting to have a running average score between races and not have you do all the math in your head and on the fly.

Troy on the part of dolphin shouls with the eel to get more tricks try and line up right in the middle of him and shake instead of going from side to side, that way you can get more tricks by staying in the middle

Troy as someone who has 25k VR my advice is to not trail your item IMMEDIATELY. Use the rear view camera first to see if someone has a red shell or not. Now with the chaotic nature of Mario kart there will be times where you can’t avoid a red shell unless you trail a banana/shell, but from my experience 8 times out of 10 you shouldn’t trail your item immediately
It's kind of insane to complain about MARIOKART for being unfair when that's the main selling point of the game

Congrats on conquering the challenge! It was damn close at times, especially the end.
But dear god you kinda got lucky timing wise with this video. If you’d done this after wave 5, you’d have basically needed to win 3 more times in a row to complete it.
I'm with ya biddy buggy is still top tier. I've really been liking light and middle weights on wiggler now too. I never rode wiggler until after the rebalance but yoshi feels so good on it to me now. I don't like the ink striker's sounds and mini turbo animations so I'm glad other options feel good to me.
You should've made the rules for the Ironman a bit more clear. You said the lower the placement you get is the more points. The goal is to get 150 points. Do you have to get exactly 150 points? Like your content is ridiculously entertaining but it had me confused when you were aiming for 1st when you said the lower the position the better points you get
Each position gets you points equivalent. So 1st=1 and 12th=12. The goal is 150 or lower

- 50cc
- Custom Items are Bullet Bills, Lightning, Stars, Golden Mushrooms and Blue Shells Only
- 8 race GP maybe

I agree with your resentment of the whole "keeping it close between everyone" mentality in this game. Between the items being distance-based as opposed to placement-based (like it has been ever since Mario Kart existed) and it even being possible for 2nd to equip more than 2 red shells is absolute bs. Normally when you're front-running in 1st, you can feel the euphoric pay-off, but now, it's just almost always guaranteed pain, torture, and broken dreams 😔

it's hilarious how in every TWD98 video, whenever troy talks about how well things are going, he immediately gets fucked by something
Was entertaining, but wasn’t a fan of making rules on the fly to make it easier for yourself. Didn’t like you switching cart after challenge started, or leaving a higher point lobby just because it was hard. Just my opinion, stick to the cart combo you pick at the start, and no intentionally leaving lobbies, unless character selection is an issue. Would give it more consistency & challenge.
You may never read this comment but I just rewatched this again and I really appreciate how you knew you needed to take a break. Sometimes you just need to walk away and come back the next day. I felt the same way a few weeks ago when I was editing my own videos.
cool idea is to use the score system from this video, but try to land on 1 exact number. like for example in this video you would want to land under 150, but in this challenge im thinking of youd want to land on exactly 150, like howd you play darts

I remember crapping on pink gold peach when she was announced for the game but ended up liking her. Go figure 🤣 that was forever ago, jeeze.
As an inkling player AND splatoon fan you should try to get 1st with every inkling color to test your true luck with them
(And maybe only use the splatoon karts)
Now that wave 6 is out, you gotta do this again!!! Also for extra pain you can count every character option like yoshi colors as separate characters but that would be truly cruel
