Pity Locke isn't in this game ; ) I firmly believe he's not in the game because Troy Baker is the perfect fit and he's already there voicing Snow.
To be fair, the reason why it took him longer to figure out was because Gilgamesh wasn't packing his guns and rocket launchers.

@@ToonGrin No doubt that DiMaggio is a great fit for Gilgamesh. But, I can definitely see the difference in voice actors being different "generations" of Gilgamesh, so to speak. Szarabajka is good for the "old" generation Gilgamesh, as that was the design in Dissidia that was used, while DiMaggio is fitting for the "new/current" generation, starting from XII onward.

Snow and Gilgamesh also kinda encounter each other in the Colliseum DLC in FF13-2, so it kinda makes sense they’d be connected somehow through that too

lol Celes is next poor thing SE pick on. Last time they put Squall with Butz and Zidane in DFF. And he keeps facepalming.
I read an interview about the 589 team in dissidia and Nomura has said him and his co-workers realized Squall would be cranky with *anyone* in the Dissidia Roster..
So they paired him with the two people who are *completely* polar opposite to him for shits and giggles.
As far as Celes goes, I suspect the devs saw some light parallels between Snow and Locke if you squint. Notice how Celes actually smiles a little when she thinks the villagers talked Snow into hunting the mirage.
We all know the reality is that Snow took it upon himself to hunt the mirage ;) And it's very likely Locke would have done the same if he was in Snow's shoes.

Sorry for the late answer but he does have a chance of picking Excalibur and dealing a lot of damage, at least when you manage to imprism him.

Hard to say. Back when I first fought him on Big Bridge, he busted out Excalibur on me the first time he did it. All the other times though... It went poorly (no pun intended)

I like this incarnation of Gilgamesh, but XII had the best version by proxy of getting John DiMaggio to voice him.
That would be cool if this was a full 3d charaters but it's still pretty good it looks

People like Snow better than Hope?
Honestly, that's more a "lesser of two evils" argument. Yeah, Snow runs head first into danger, gets people around him killed, comes up with the worst plans (like telling the authorities hunting him and the others that "He's not a monster" in spite of how earlier in the day, he decided to shoot a gun in the air and say at the top of his lungs, "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU ALL!!!"), but then when you look at Hope... he does tend to have that one very specific personality trait on him which seems to be set to (and no offense to Hope of course) "Whining and Bitching."
So I guess in terms of character, it would seem like Snow is the more proactive of the two while Hope is a bit more "complain about everything" (even though Hope's mom was one of the many people that Snow got killed, can you blame him?)
it's like choosing between a kick in the nuts or a kick in the butt.
better choose the one that leaves less damages = _=
