Who needs tv shows when you have a narrator this talented?? What an excellent audiobook series it is!! It reminds me of when my fourth grade teacher used to read books aloud to our class and would act out the characters just like this narrator. It always sent us into our own worlds of imagination. Looking back, it was one moment in the horrible school day of being cooped up inside and made to sit still where we could all be at ease and listen.
Now that I am this deep and see how much was lost/changed and moved around I am a bit disappointed. The series brought me here and I still like it but I enjoy the books so much more. So many questions I had in the series have been answered in the books.❤
I honestly can't understand why the series changed the Aratuza to be a dance rather than what was written. Also why change Triis so much? Why reduce Phillipa?
@@SouthBuffaloG1because the show runner and her shitty "writers" disliked the books and thought they could come up with something better. Most fans of the books, and even fans of the games, hate the show. They greatly disrespected Sapkowski's work, and continue to do so by making that abomination. Also, if you read the books, and play the first two games, you'll find that Triss is a cowardly scumbag. So CDPR at least tried to be somewhat faithful to the source material, unlike Lauren Fisstech and netflix.
@@SouthBuffaloG1bad writers with an agenda most likely. They probably thought they where doing a good job too. You should check out the games if you want more Witcher lore
I got into the witcher via the 3rd game. When the series came out I was super excited to watch and even enjoyed it. But now after Ive listened up until this book… I couldn’t care less about the show. They got so many important points wrong like when geralt first met ciri. Eskel being killed in the second season. Dandelion and geralts entire relationship is wrong in the show
I think Dikstra laughed when the oxenfurt coroner detected the Michele Brothers were killed by a scythe blade mounted upright because the doctor obviously couldn't comprehend a sword inflicting those wounds because of how ridiculously powerful and sharp the blows would have to be with a sword. Lol its a good way for the author to emphasize just how brutal and deadly Geralt is with his sword, especially on his potions against men who had just threatened Yen and Ciri. 😂 Riance fucked up big time by poking the bear while Geralt was on his potions lol I wish Geralt would have treated Riance with his sword like the hired thugs. That would have been so damn satisfying hearing that part for the first time. Riance and Ciri's kidnapper/bounty hunter later in the books should have gotten smoked by Geralt while rescuing Ciri. Sapkowski let me down in many ways towards the end of the series. He takes too much honor and credit from Geralt, Witcher 3 writers did 10x better than vain, pessimistic, and nihilistic Sapkowski.
The books of Sapkowski are directed at adults, and the game at kids - probably that's why the game is more optimistic. Nonetheless there wouldn't be the game without the books
I can't believe how bad the tv show botched this series. It had the potential to be one of the best shows on tv. The best part is the show runners telling fans that they had to simplify it because we're to stupid for a complex narrative. Great tactic right there put out a dud and than blame the audience for it being garbage👏👏👏
The former princesses name was Cirilla. To everyone else, Ciri is just an ordinary apprentice to Yennefer. The people who know it’s Cirilla know and the others don’t.
@@Samherbe954 - Considering Yen is quite conspicuous (and so is Ciri with her green eyes) her behavior is air-headed. Ciri sure is not much better but she is a child at that point in time. Then general populace may not know who they're looking at but those in the know do and there seem to be many.
Cirilla is a common name in Slavic countries. It's like shouting "Jane" or "Anne" in an English-speaking country. P. S.: Yes, I know we're talking about a fictional world, but the name itself is nothing special. On the other hand, Dijkstra is a fascinating name, ditto the algorithm.
The dinner party with the mages had me in stitches. It’s a real shame about the state of show runners or even Hollywood in general. So many missed opportunities…😢
I love that the reader of this book is able to make me immerse myself into another world through his voice. I love the books already and he just made it even better. Fuck yeah!
Lol you're putting to much faith in netflix if you think they'll stay remotely in line with the books, or even respect the source material. Most of the "writers" of the show have either not fully read the books, or expressed actual disdain for them.
Please, don’t edit, but make another comment! Happy listening!

I'm addicted to these audiobooks, they're taking over my whole life.
All they had to do was adapt the book faithfully. To make a killer show but instead they drove out the one man who had a passion for the Witcher

They have no respect for the characters. the story, or the fans.
damn the show isn't even 10% of the books
I mean, I knew the show was bad because… I watched it. But I had no idea how much it really did miss the mark.
Someone counted that less than 3% of the show time containd scenes loosly refer to the source material.

Hearing how many times Yen called Ciri by her name I am amazed that they didn't get caught within a day...

I really enjoyed how this was read thankyou !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ciris sense of achievement give me dopamine
Ya netflix pretty much butchered a great set of books. It pissed me off a bit.
Glad that so many people are starting to pick up the novels, sad that they now realize how shitty the tv show ended up being.
LMAO WHEN HE ALMOST CHOKES WHEN YEN SAYS I LOVE YOU 😭😭😭😭
7:08:00 Watched all 5 of part 3 today ..Goto wait till 25th for next 5 ..Another dismal TV show that ruins the books and my imagination
The more I listen to the novels the more insanely disappointed I become in the Netflix series…
