Does anybody actually read this stuff?
#BattleToads #TheCompleteHistory #Rare - Игры
This was one of my favorite games to play with my father. I grew up in the 80’s and my parents were both gamers. This game was hard but fun and addicting.
back when you needed at least one ounce of skill and experience to beat a game. Now you get to the final boss and get half his energy down and then it breaks into a cut scene where everything is flying around in cinematic view and all you do is push X when you're supposed to, and poof, no point in upgrading your character any more. Unless of course you buy more content.
Whoever designed the damned hoverbike level should have been punished with "If you want your paycheck this week. Complete the level in the first try!" every week they worked there.
I'd prefer death
Everyone always talks about the Turbo Tunnel but let's not forget Clinger Winger!
I loved that part of the game, great fun :D
@@smokedperch nah man, clinger winger is trivialized by some pause buffering, i think you meant *volkmire's inferno*
@@hdckighfkvhvgmk I hate that level!!!
Great vid as always. To be fair, Bucky O'Hare and TMNT both debuted in 1984 as comics, so while Bucky seems like a 90s cash-in, it's a TMNT contemporary, albeit a less popular one, and was reinvigorated by the early 90s toy/cartoon/comic craze.
CAPT. BUCKY O'HARE had a bad ass intro for the cartoon and the arcadegame looked and played fantastic .
Bucky O'Hare was hella rad!!
Yeah Bucky shouldn't be in this rip off group.
Samurai Pizza Cats was genius
Yes! I didn't think anyone else knew about them!
The theme song is legendary 👌
Loved the series
My friends hated playing the NES game. I didn't understand. Even though it was hard, I always had fun because of how ridiculous it was.
SNES version is the best.
Battletoads & Double Dragon is definitely the one to go for if you wanna play any Battletoads game, at least to start off with. It's much, *much* less punishing than the rest while still being very challenging, and focuses mostly on the awesome beat 'em up gameplay that you tend to wish was in more of the game in the other versions. Plus, Rare did right by the Double Dragon series, implementing tons of the most iconic enemies in fun ways. It's just a fantastic game and one of my favorite beat 'em ups of the era.
Then when you're ready to tackle some of the hardest games of the time, try out Battletoads and Battlemaniacs (which imo is totally decent). They *will* kick your ass but as was said in the video they're very rewarding to master.
My first battletoads were battlemaniacs and the double dragon crossover
I had that game and offered to play it with someone. He'd never heard of it, and said it was weird. Not cool, just weird. Young people are spoiled as hell, just like on back to the future when he finds the wild gunman arcade cabinet.
You are not alone in remembering the turtle takeover of the 90s, I remember being 10 and seeing the first movie on opening weekend and having plenty of the toys... Well turtles and Ghostbusters.
I remember seeing turtles and going to Pizza hut and nostalgia shhhh feels sooo good
Looks like a fun game, I should call gamestop and see if they have it.
lol, I forgot all about that
Did they have it?
It was great fun and really quite hard as you worked through the levels.
Lol better hurry up and get your laughs now bc gamestop is a shit company and will go out of business by 2022.
flame nope
One year later a new Battletoads was announced.
2 years later we would get dissapointed
I loved the turtles and my son does too. We watched the entire original cartoon series and we play the arcade games all the time. I am glad he gets to experience the awesomeness while I relive the glory days. We played the arcade Battletoads and I showed him the legendary difficulty of the Battletoads NES game. To this day being able to beat the game is a hell of a feat for sure.
Arc Systems Works ported Battletoads to Sega Genesis. Yes, THE Arc System Works that brought us the Guilty Gear, Blazblue series, and soon Dragon Ball Figther Z.
They are the real deal.
Had a bloody blast playing the original and arcade on Rare Replay. I'm hoping we'll hear about a new one at E3 tonight...
BREAKING NEWS: There is a new Battletoads game coming in 2019!!!
That guy in pink who freaked out in GameStop was disappointed that they were sold out. Poor thing.
Really, I hope so, it was one of my childhood favs, one of the first games I ever owned.
Cannot wait!
Nope
Yeah, and it looks like shit. And hasnt even come out till this day (feb 2020) and that is for best.
"Yes, you're gonna die over and over again..."
Always on that one level. And likely _without_ improving much, because good lord at the speed!
A new Battletoads game is coming out for the Xbox One in 2019!
Really looks like it’s time to save up me wallet
And there is a new streets of rage for playstation
It just keeps getting better
Nope
And where is it still!? 🖕
Mate, i'm from Brazil and I discovered your channel a while ago and I loved these videos about the history of franchises,at the first sight xD . Keep up the great work, friend. I always follow!
I thought Battlemaniacs was amazing because the toads had their own fighting styles. I'm a big martial arts fan so Rash was immediately a godsend for me because he was a martial artist, while Pimple was a big powerhouse
I'd love to play that arcade version, it looks AMAZING. Great video, Dan; it's always nice to see this series get some love!
I love me some Battletoads, I beat all the games without cheats. One of the best accomplishments you can get from gaming. Also Super Battletoads is my favorite arcade game :)
Ness Kirby the arcade version is a mindless button masher
Question: with or without warps?
There not even that hard
How in the actual fudge did you beat the SNES one? Its impossible for me!
Young you had no idea, but Bucky O'Hare was literally released the same month as TMNT, both having their first comic adventure in May 1984
i think the joke was that at that age he could not tell, the samurai pizza cats were up there too XD
Nice video sir! Battletoads was a childhood favorite of mine. Still haven't made it past the bike tunnel to this day.
1:25 did anyone else notice the turtles signature colors were all mixed up?
Why haven't more people commented on this?
That actually made me fucking cringe
13:21 - So much 90's concentrated into a few seconds. It's almost like a parody.
Why does everyone consider Bucky O'Hare a TMNT ripoff? He was created before TMNT existed.
No it didnt
@@mikemallory8580 yes it did, by a lot. Bucky Ohare was created in 1978.
@@cornhustlah yeah
The tmnt and nucky's crew are all furries.
People act like anthropomorphic animals were invented by tmnt
I hope you do a complete history of the TMNT video games one day. I'd love to see that.
It would be an epic video!
You do a brilliant job with these complete histories. The editing is fantastic and your information well researched. Keep it going daniel!
I wonder how difficult the new Battletoads is going to be. I feel most of the difficulty came from bad game design choices (friendly fire & hot detection) and something like that is hard to duplicate on purpose.
I'm guessing it might have similar difficulty, but more checkpoints. Difficulty of these old games has so much to do with lack of checkpoints.
What New Battle Toads? this was an awesome game on the original Nintendo, was really hard though perhaps it was because of my age but I could never get past the underground ice level. I was just looking on the Steam store hoping someone had released a remastered version to play on PC with a PS control.
Still was much better than most other NES games in those regards. I know this as i have played this game multiple times through, it sounds like someone is just a little bit salty :)
friendly fire is still shit though
Kuli24 shit tell that to the crash bandicoot remaster lol it’s just difficult it was then and it now
I didn't know Rash was in Killer Instinct, that's awesome!
TMNT and Rare Replay got me into Battletoads, 3 years ago. Also glad to see someone else is as big as a TMNT fan as I am, grew up with the 2003 series since I was 2
This was GREAT!!! Truly AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME Work brotha as ALWAYS 👍👍👍👍
A new Battle Toads was announced at E3 2018 with hand-drawn graphics and animation style.
Well done! I also have and love the Genesis version as well as the Double Dragon/Battletoads cross over game. You gave me a HUGE reason to pick up the RARE compilation disc. Thanks again for an awesome episode!
+SDFcommander more than welcome my good friend
I had a friend who couldn't get through the levels with the cars. I had a specially modified NES where I could control both players with one controller. At the beginning of that level we would pause the game, switch on that modification, then I would unpause and play for both of us. The key was to move the players to the bottom left corner of the screen so that they would be on top of each other. After I beat the level I would again pause the game and switch off the mod so that he could resume playing.
I love me some Battletoads. Still one of my favorite series. Awesome video.
Love SLOPES! This channel should have millions of subs. Keep up the excellent work!
Battletoads is one of the top twenty greatest games in history. The next Battletoads game should be on the Xbox 360 Xbox one ps3 and ps4. Just a suggestion Microsoft make this happen asap.
E3 2018 the time has come, There back!
Congratulations for the GREAT history videos you've been presenting us with
every episode gets better, battletoads is so good!
I love your content man. You make well done, and informative videos. Good stuff. I learned something today.
The "DiC" voice dub was a brilliant touch.
just wanted to let you know i love how great your videos are.they are extremely high end .i can't wait to see the next one. thanks
+Tina Grant ahhhhh thanks matey, gonna be a shorter one this weekend coming as im currently on holiday in disneyland but already scripting the next one
Wow! Great job! Great documentary! Great channel you have here! What a work! Congrats! Cheers from Brazil.
glad mentioned the cameos.
Just watched this and double dragon. Went searching for Ninja Gaiden. Couldn't find it. But this is a cool series!
Man this is awesome, your videos are great!
Thanks Pedro
Keep these coming! Love to log in and see a new video.
Ah, I've been saying this recently with different channels but the feeling remains the same. It's nice to come home after a long day of work and see a new "Complete History" video. Thank you, man.
I love this video. Thank you for the upload, kind sir.
thanks for reliving my nightmare. i played this game so much and still have not beat it. i put this game in my bucket list of this to do before i die. ( i will beat this game ) great video keep up the good work.
Good sir; SWAT KATS and Biker Mice both outshine the 80's turtles cartoon by a fair margin.
Thank you for your time.
Seeing the Street Sharks and all those other cartoons brings tears of joy to my eyes
Another fantastic video. Thanks!
-Says he didn't like the SNES version of Earthworm Jim 2 because it was a port, despite what qualities and advantages the game may have had that were never extrapolated on in the video.
-Says he prefers the Genesis version of Battletoads, despite it being a port that in some ways belies the NES version that he simply chose to ignore, demonstrated in the video.
Okay, Dan. I see how you play.
Bucky O Hare is a classic. First time I ever remember throwing a remote at the TV screen was when his lady rabbit got kidnapped. My grandma was pissed. Good times.
Good work as always friend!
greatest game ever, variety of gameplay is unmatched. I still play it today 30 yrs later.
And in the category of longest intro on RUclips, the award goes to Slope’s with an intro at three and a half minutes.
Double Dragon Battletoads was my favorite Battletoads game. The one in the Rare collection looks awesome.
Great video as usual, Dan! I had the NES version as a kid and probably spent more time playing it than the rest of my collection combined :)
+Blast Processing its hard gameplay done right
Kids today won't ever have an experience like this. I think it's awesome how big games can be now and how amazing the graphics are, not to mention being able to be multiplayer. My Daughter has had gaming experiences I could only dream about when I was her age. But to be fair, although it may seem outdated in comparison now there was something truly great about the NES classics. Such fond memories 😊 (and no, I'm not an old git lol, I was born 1987 so was lucky enough to grow up with the experience of the NES being quite developed in the UK, but before the SNES came out so kind of the golden age of that console over here).
GO BLESS YOU MAN! VERY NICE WORK
I grew up loving everything TMNT, me & my cousins also loved playing BattleToads video games too. We still talk about it & now XBOX gamepass has an upgraded version of BattleToads for the new gen consoles that I definitely have been playing recently.
Awesome episode as always!
Haha nice to see Buffy at 0:38, now that's a good way to grab my attention :)
+strafefox hahaha glad you enjoyed it buddy :D
Now just imagine this: Toad... in Battletoads. Yes, THE Toad. The screamy, mushroom fucker that we all love in Battletoads. We can call it Battletoadsandtoad.
i very much enjoy these videos and I all wsys have a great time watching them
In 2020, the Battletoads actually came back-with a three-part comic book series and a new game for the XBox one and PC!
Oh man Battletoads, especially BT&DD, was huuuuuge when i was a kid. Not many games today are as popular as BT was back then.
THANK YOU! I TOTALLY NEEDED THIS!
Whuttttt I never got to try the arcade one that one looks amazing!
The toads with stunna shades on, art style, and humor made it worthy of TMNT.
Never played the series, but now I'm interested!
Swat kats > 90's turtles.
The quality of the two shows where leagues apart.
Fight me.
+ArmouredLemming why i outaaaaaaa
Swat kats was ass
The arcade game is by far the best, shame so few have played it
Nice! I loved battletoads when I was a kid. I don't think I ever made it past that swimming level though.
Still, fun game with a huge variety of gameplay styles.
Biker Mice From Mars and Bucky O'Hare were brilliant. As were Samauri Pizza Cats. So much to love
Great to see this video!!!!
Fanny pack?!
I thought we brits called them bum bags... which is weird cos nobody wore them over their bums.
even weirder... I don't even have a fanny!!!
And what do you mean Bucky O'Hare was a Turtles Copy Cat?! The dude was green and that's the end of the similarities!
That's just how i saw it back in the day lol don't worry i know its good (great game too)
Here or in the US?
Vagina.
Cranking out my childhood here, Slopes! Seriously, you've been covering like all my favorite games as a kid so far, lol. Now if you did Rocket Knight Adventures next (I know there's not as much there to work with, unfortunately.) I'd think we somehow knew each other as children.
This video made me call GameStop
Harley Quinn I know, I'm sorry. I just had to throw in that obligatory old meme.
i dont understand that meme explain
@@redmondt1841 Watch the video "Gamestop's Battle with Toads" it more or less explains it.
@@harryballs6652 Thank you, Harry, It took way too long for someone to actually explain to me what that was lol.
great as always
I was a little surprised that the video mentioned so little about the arcade game's violence. I remember being blown away as a kid seeing the toads decapitate the rats, among other things.
I been waiting for you to drop the bass DJ Slopes. I think we all been waiting
pretty good, but have you actually seen the original samurai pizza cats? I wouldn't call it a copy cat. (no pun intended)
that show was a lot fun to watch!!
Konata Izumi yeah weird he calls out Bucky O'Hare specifically, too.
Konata Izumi he also calls swat cats a ripoff for no reason.
pun totally intended, you can't fool me
Great Video! Thx
Bucky O'Hare was created before the Ninja Turtles.
I feel like people are always really hard on game boy ports….back in those days we accepted that there were limitations to handheld gaming that you don’t see today. So getting ANYTHING that resembled Battletoads was a win from the start
MAD, BAD, CRAZY TOADS!!!!!
keep it up love your videos
I was so addicted to ninja turtles as a kid in the early 90s
Really appreciate you Mate - you're spot on in my book! Cheers
+Brian Riecks cheers brian
Man, I fuckin' MASTERED that Tiger LCD Ninja Turtles game back in the day. Loop under the spinning fire trap, jump over the little bitey robots, complete the 'stage'. Even after I got to the point that I was literally able to get through it with my eyes closed, I still played the shit out of it... Cuz it was the only portable game I had at the time.
I had the gameboy self titled version when I was a kid and loved it! Only other games I had were the Simpsons and tetris so yeah this one got played a lot.
Dude, Bucky O'Hare was the shit back in the day!!! The arcade and NES port was awesome!!!
The Turtles toys in the 90s were great. I loved the detail. All my friends were jealous of my hard plastic headed Shredder. They all had the squishy rubber headed version of Shredder
lmao "DiiiCK" i always found it odd whenever i saw that growing up.
Battletoads was the one franchise that made me consider an snes back in the day. I'm surprised the franchise has been dead because I consider it a high point in gaming history.
Mentioning Genesis and Classic Game Room in so little time...this is clearly my jam, aside that i love Battletoads.
I always remember that Sega Genesis exclusive code for some Mortal Kombat game that was "a-b-a-c-a-b" a reference to a Genesis album that i less like, but whatever, i love that band...the complete 70s-80s time of that band.
CGR for life!
I love these videos
awesome video !!!
