Maine Coon Kitten Introduction - First Day

- Filmed between the 28th January and the 29th January 2022.
Starring: Galadriel, Hermione, Lucifero (for half a second), a human arm, human feet.
I initially intended to make a video of the first 20 days but it turned out 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Even my mother refused to watch it so I split it.
The decision to get a new kitten was kind of sudden and followed the as equally sudden decline in Lucifero's health (renal problems). I am happy to report that, probably out of spite, he is much better now.
I also did not intend to let Hermione see the kitten the first day but the other human was tired of having to keep the doors closed, Hermione was getting stressed out as well and flat out refused to leave the kitten's room. Lucifero did not care, at all.
Nothing ever goes according to plan, does it?

Technically with her colouring she would be known as a calico brown white and black which means she could have Calitude, calitude is the attitude of the calico cat which is very dominant, don’t be surprised if she takes lead becomes boss of the house, my calico kittens rule the world
I looked at those sheer curtains in the window and thought those aren’t going to be there very long. 😅
That is exactly what the cat breeder warned us about, when we showed her pictures of the apartment. Therefore, obviously, not one of my cats has ever touched them (yet). Not all cats are curtain climbers, also, we have cat trees in each room....They do pee in my pots though. Didn't see that coming.

She is named after a character from Lord of the Rings. Galadriel is an immortal elf, a sorceress of great power and is depicted wearing white and shining from within. The name means "maiden crowned with a garland of bright radiance"...Lady of light basically.
This was such a cute video. I have 3 cats around 3.5-4.5 years old. One is the mama kitty and her 2 babies. They are mixed breeds that I rescued. But on Christmas Eve I am bringing home 2 Maine Coon kittens and I'm nervous about the introductions. Wish me luck!
Thanks, and good luck! Hermione was 6 years old and Lucifero 14, when we brought home Galadriel. I was about to start working full time and Lucifero's health was declining so I decided to get a new kitten to keep Hermione company. I read all the material on kitten introduction I could find, prepared for a month and still couldn't follow the proper steps! Hermione hates closed doors with a vengeance and Galadriel started crying the moment you left her alone, so we rushed things along too quickly. My advice to you is to take it slow. Set up a room for the new kittens, don't let them see each other, introduce them by smell by swapping scented pillows or blankets, then swap rooms etc.
That isn’t a cat carrier it’s a studio apartment.

I got a main coon 5 days ago 12 weeks old he straight away explored the whole house started eating after 3 hours and used the litter after 4 hours I think I'm very lucky that he adjusted like that. I have a ragdoll whom I got a month ago he is 14 weeks old they became friends on the 3rd day. But my ragdoll was not happy on the first and 2nd day.
Kittens adjust a lot faster than adults. Introducing a kitten to an old cat is a lot trickier.
