Thanks for this video. Ready to drill I noticed that the hood is actually welded on with three legs. A few times with the hammer on the hood from both the intake and exhaust side made one of the legs break off at the weld and the hood easily pushed to the side. Result: a free passage. No spectacular improvement in sound, but I think it's a great ghetto fix 🙂
Can't wait to see that video with the . modified exhaust. Wanna do the same. In the other videos, by the way, the opened up the whole thing to make an adjustable valvez so you can open and close it like a sorta dB-killers.
Hi Ross, good to see your video. Think Im gonna do the same. Good you please give me the link with the video where they dismantle the exhaust en cut it open and then weld it again. I have seen it once but cannot find it anymore, I keep following you!
So my bike finally arrived. It was just assembled Friday and I’m waiting for delivery at the BMW performance center. As soon as I get it I’ll do the swap and make a video. Word on the street is that I have one of the last production 1250’s. 😬
@@rosskapron3634 Very lucky to get yours, the wiring loom for most beamers is made in Ukraine so ordering a new bike will be a hard one to fill. Yesterday i visited my dealer with my october 2021 and they offered me to take it back at retail, 7500 kilometers on the clocks.
Yes that is correct. That allowed me to cut one end cap off. I’ve tested it briefly in the garage against the OEM muffler. At idle there is no real DB change. Roughly about 117-120 decibels. I noticed a slight difference when revving down but very similar still. I have not tried it riding yet. That may be different.

Hi , thx for your video. I’ve done the same and measured the db’s. After the mod it gained is almost 5db in idle.
