Holy crap, the battery of my old Sharan died over night (no prior symptoms, suddenly only 4.8 v). This video saved my butt! Thanks for sharing the important lessons online good sir!
I didn't have any idea about how to remove the battery in our Seat Alhambra. However, I wanted to do it on my own. The first time in my life 😉 This awesome video gave me all the details needed. Finally, it just took me one hour to finish. Thank you very much for that great video!
Thank you so much! I will use this guide to change the battery on my Seat Alhambra. If you want more views on this video ad "Seat Alhambra" to the title. There may be some people who do not know that they are virtually the same car.
Thanks! I was getting ready to swap out my 7 year-old battery and had no clue where to start. Of course the manual only tells you to have a VW dealer replace the battery. One thing I noticed however is that your 2nd gen Sharan seems to have a battery hard case while mine only has a complete wraparound soft battery warmer.
You're very welcome 👍 Yeah, they want us to do everything at dealers. When I bought my car, asked about AdBlue, they said that I should book it in for top-ups.
Thank you for this great & detailed video. Although I have a 2017 model, all steps are basically the same. Without your video I would have no glue how to remove the air filter box....
Thank you very much, this video inspired me to do it myself without a programming tool. 2013 Sharan 2.0 TDI, no errors or issues with the computer. Battery management seems to work just fine. One thing though, my car has some kind of additional air hose from the back of the air box (compared to your 2011).
Thanks 👍 I'm not sure how important is battery reset, so can't say much about it. If it works fine - very good. Additional pipe? There's 2 in 2013 Sharan? Whatever that is, must be a reason anyway. Thanks for watching my videos 😊
Yes, at 3:51 - 3:52 when you lift up the air box you can see what I guess is the position for the second connection. On your box it is just a round shape in the plastic, no hole. Mine connects to a short soft pipe/hose that will disconnect from either side when you lift up the air box. It was quite fiddly to get it back on. Now I have to find out what it is for :)
You're welcome 😎 There are a couple of issues: Your windows and, if you have electric doors, doors may forget they starting points and stop working automatically. But that's temporarily, it goes back to normal after some time. The other issue - any new battery should be coded into car with start-stop technology. Eventually, your start-stop technology can stop working, as it doesn't know how many cycles it has done and what type of battery. Ideally, it should be updated with the scanner that can do it.
thank you for great video 👌 i changed the battery in seat alhambra 2012 and in audi a4 2009. 1 hour work with coding. i did a coding with OBD11 and everything works perfectly 😁
Am thinking this will be v v similar for a 2013 Alhambra, any idea if coding will be an issue if I follow your instructions? Have seen coding mentioned elsewhere when it comes to changing batteries and I'm not at all sure what the implications are if some coding is required. Thanks for any help at all.
Yes, technically you need to reset battery in ECU. It counts amount of start/stops, so when the count gets high, it assumes that battery is not as good and deactivates some features - like start-stop. I don't know what else. I think it's fine to even drive like that, but to be tip-top it's best to set "new battery" via software.
Great Video - one other thing. When started the car afterwards lots of yellow warning lights (e.g. steering, auto stop, tyres etc). Short slow drive (about 100m) and all reset themselves (so nothing to worry about)
Thanks mate, this was a big help on my Seat Alhambra too. Quick question. What is the pipe on the bottom of the air box? You can see it at 3:00. It looks like it should connect to something but I assume it is maybe drainage pipe??
Thanks. You assumption is absolutely right - it's water drain pipe. When you're driving and it's pissing down with rain - that's where trapped water comes out.👍

Any ideas on what this might be or more importantly where it should've gone, couldn't see anywhere for it at all. Many thanks!
Thanks Frank, that pipe is a water drain, it shouldn't lead anywhere - just be pointing down. If you drive in a rain, that's where intake trapped water escapes.
@@wawayltd had made sure it points away from all the cables around there, there are loads of them, will see if I can get it to point straight down. Thanks again man, your help is much appreciated.
Very good your videos, it would be desirable some on engine mechanics, for example to failures of the sensor of position of the accelerator G69, not plausible signal, or failures of the caudalimeter
Hi I was surprised to see that you have an AGM battery in your Sharan 7N. I have an original factory fitted EFB in my early 2015 2.0CR. I am looking to replace it with an AGM but wondered if the battery management needs to be coded for the change from EFB to AGM?
Any new battery should be coded into car with start-stop technology. But the only thing you lose, if you don't (as far as I know) - start-stop stops working, as it doesn't know how many cycles and what type of battery. For me it's not a problem, as I don't like using start-stop anyway.

Do I have to teach the new battery with a control unit so that everything then works with the new battery? many thanks for your response
Hello! Yes, your cars computer counts every time you start-stop the car, and then assuming that the battery is not being as good, it disables some options (like start-stop). When you put new battery, you should set it via scanner/diagnostics software.
Sorry but this is an AGM model so you should have Stop and Start. Do as this and you'll lose all codes (radio...) You must put a second batterie in parallele during disconect the old one AND do the adaptation in ECU with VCDS for exemple.

Yes, you should reset battery in ECU. This video shows just physical part of the job. If your battery is dead and you need to get going, just replacing is good enough. But for perfection reset is necessary.

Thanks 😊👍
needs to be coded or not?
Yes, you should reset battery in ECU. This video shows just physical part of the job. If your battery is dead and you need to get going, just replacing is good enough. But for perfection reset is necessary.
@@wawayltd thank you vrry much 😁 do you know how to reset ECU? i have OBD11 pro... or i need vcdc?
Do you mean that phone app Torque Pro? I'm not sure that it can do it. Some other scanners can, VCDS definitely.
@@wawayltd it is a phone app but can be used for coding 👍 but i dont know how to... i read forums but i cant figur it out 🤣 its easier wit vcdc... so i wait for it and then i make it with vcdc 👌 thank you very much for everything 😁
Thank you !!!
My battery 79ah.....can i fit 70ah ?
You can fit 70ah, it is better to keep same capacity though, because lower capacity may not last as long.. However, if I'm not mistaken my Sharan has 70ah.
👌👍👌

+General ✈ BZA Ну тогда тебе и домкрат не нужен ;)
