Forgiveness can be difficult to both give and receive. When we’ve been hurt, especially by a loved one, that pain will take time to heal. The first and most important key to remember is that you can’t force forgiveness. Accept that your spouse has the right to forgive you or not. But is there a way to get your spouse to forgive you?
Forgiveness must be earned. You can take several actions to aid this process, but everyone grieves at a different pace. Continuing to apologize might do more damage to your marriage than good. So, after you clearly, sincerely, and humbly apologize, continue to work on being the best version of yourself through working on physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual attraction.

Forgiveness and love come from Jesus. He’s changed my heart so much, through all these trials with my husband, and it gives me the power to forgive him when he hasn’t asked. That’s the only way I can be who Jesus has called me to be.

Forgiveness and reconciliation are commanded by God. Some people will never forgive until they are saved. Unforgiveness is a heart hardened toward God and others. Your videos and advice are always good because it helps us grow as individuals, and in the image of Christ, and I always enjoy and learn from them.

That's like "How to say sorry for shooting your spouse". How about "How not to need forgiveness by staying faithful."

As great as you and I love your advice, it didn’t save my marriage. I tried and she didn’t want to- so I let her go after 20 years.

So sorry but still forgiveness is important. It took someone I love 25 years to re ognize the damage they did and still without possibilities of coming back forgiveness gave closure.

How about coming to terms with what happened, accept it and move on.
A lot of Christians view forgiveness as the only path. You don't have to forgive someone who hurt you terribly, you don't have to have that person in your life at all.
There are people out there that will love you for who you are.

You should forgive the person, but you don't have to reconcile at all cost. Forgiveness is for the forgiver's good.

I betrayed my wife in the worst way and I am remorseful and sorry but I woud never ask for forgiveness. It's not necessary. If she wants to forgive me for her own sake, that's fine but I don't need it. I need to move forward and ensure that it won't happen again.

I think it's a mischaracterization to insinuate someone is DEMANDING forgiveness, but rather SURPRISED or baffled that someone who claims to be a Christian would choose not to (in defiance of clear scripture commands...see Ephesians 4:31,32/Matthew 6:14,15), and instead choose to hang on to bitterness and resentment over relatively small offenses (like a raised voice in response to their anger outburst)...especially when you have already forgiven them of much worse offenses (ie, physical and severe verbal abuse).

What if your spouse refuses to forgive and just wants to torture me? He is! It’s extreme verbal, mental and emotional abuse!!! I can’t take it anymore.

My husband blames me for those around me saying things to him that he doesn’t like. He wants me to confront them. In his words I need a backbone and should have his back. How do I handle this?

    • @therealprofit5982

Kindly ask people not to disrespect your husband In front of you because if it hurts his feelings it should hurt yours to

    • @onenationhere

Why doesn't he confront them ? And, how can you control what others say ?
I guess ask yourself why others are talking about him, it is very uncommon for people to talk bad about someone for no reason. So, what is his part in this ? It has to be something.
