Another damn bailout for a plan that was doomed from the start.
Provide 401Ks instead of pensions. Let the contributor specify which and how much to put away each month. Good companies have matching funds up to 6%

Welp, you've got your answer. Teamster's. They pocketed their share 'managing' and 'officiating' while you worked. I guarantee that the teamster leadership, leadership, division officers will ALL get their FULL benefits on retirement. Sucker, you've got to suffer as they need those funds for their homes pools and mandatory bi-yearly 4 week vacations. C'mon, you can trust your brothers now, can't you?

17 years driving for UPS and gets 2,000.00 a month in pension. He will collect more money in one year than he contributed in the seventeen years he worked for UPS. How do you think this is sustainable.

Howard McCauley unfortunately this will make people retired overseas even more than we are. It has increase drastically over the years. This will push retirees out. 10 full.

A "turnaround" for a pension fund is the same as for an individual's retirement. It won't happen.

It's interesting that there haven't been any talks of cuts to executive bonuses and severance packages since the financial meltdown of 2007 - 2008, especially since it was investment decisions made by those executives that caused many of the problems.

Time to end this. Either everyone gets a pension or nobody gets one. Enough.

Very sad state. Why did these pension get to this point? Numerous state pensions are also in the same boat but they get taxpayer bailouts. Whose going to help these people?

Time for government workers to pony up and pay into these unfounded pensions. Just like they expect taxpayers to pay for their unfunded pensions. So Every federal, state and local government employee should pay into a fund to help these pensioners. What ever it costs, 25% 50% or 75% of government employee paychecks.
