Very nice review 👍. It is more interesting if you compare it to other utility iron such as Tour Edge Exotics C722 Ti-Utility (19), Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi Hybrid Iron (19), TaylorMade DHY (19), TaylorMade UDI (20), Cleveland Launcher UHX Utility Iron (20), Srixon ZX Utility Iron (20), and Titleist U-505 Utility Iron (20).
Slightly off topic but I've been playing the G430 5-hybrid and 3-hybrid, and they are definitely not left biased in any way. Granted, I do have them set on the flat adapter setting. But I do swing in-to-out about 5 degrees with a face closed to the path, they rarely ever go left more than expected.
Compare it to the touredge driving 3 iron. Got one because I seem to hit long irons better than a hybrid. Got better distance and hit is straight for most of the time.
Haven't been able to watch in a while. But, like always, Thomas seems to be able to hit any club that he tests. I wonder if he would end up putting this Ping in his bag.
Nice review 👌. It would have been cool if you played with the loft sleeve. Also would love a video comparing the icrossover to the old g425 crossover. Wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to the new one.
I just bought the 3i today I’m about 5-10 yards shorter than you but I wasn’t getting over 85ft high and I’m pretty sure I was getting quite a bit more spin. I was hitting a tp5x which isn’t a ball I use but less height and more spin doesn’t make sense to me
Would like to see from a tee at a slower swing speed to see the dynamics of launch ,spin and carry. When you need to clear a bunker in front of a par 3 but the hybrid you have to hit a cut. Nice review thanks always enjoy the videos too bad no stores in FL.
I plan to get a lesson before next season for my slicing problem with the driver. I took it off the bag and had better results with my 3 wood, I was finally finding fairways and gaining yards. After a couple weeks the slice was back, now with the 3 wood...Not sure what happened but it did. It's only my second year golfing so I know that a lesson with a pro might change everything. So, based on your video. If I still want to try a ping utility driving iron, I should try the g425 model for the forgiveness? And is getting a 2 iron to make sure I get the most yardage a no brainer? I play the g710 irons and I love them. -Thanks
A 2 iron will require a good amount of speed to get the most out of it. Plus, the forgiveness is significantly lower than any hybrid, wood, or driver. Since you’re playing the G710’s and like them, the G425 Crossover would be closer in profile and looks than the iCrossover. But, I would also try a Callaway Apex UW. And would go with a 2 Hybrid over any Crossover unless you have a good amount of speed.
@@lawbinson Thank you Rob! I do have a 3hybrid taylormade m6 that I sometimes use on the tee as well, it's just shorter than my 3wood of course. I will keep your advice in mind!
I should have posted here. I just bought the icrossover 2 iron and wondering what is the usual setup in terms of length. It was originally 41 inches now knocked down to 40 inches as I felt it was feeling alittle heavy. My Qn is what is a usual 2 iron length is 40 inches too short?
Good question. The standard length for the iCrossover 2-iron is 40 1/8", so just barely more than 40 inches. So it would have been that the original was built and/or ordered long? Either way, I would not think 40 inches is too short. But if you feel it's a little heavy, maybe get the swing weight measured and make sure. If the club was ordered longer, the weighting was also likely adjusted and the swing weight may be a little off balance if cut down to 40. The standard swing weight is D2
Thank you for that 41 inches felt like a drag and after knocking it down it feels good not heavy but just feels weird and much shorter even though it was just a cut down of 1 inches. Im still practising and getting use to the club. I have a ventus blue 7-s as a shaft.
Interesting… Someone who uses a driving iron and has the speed and it still is so close between a 2 and 3 iron loft. Seems like a 2 iron just makes very little sense.
Most people myself included use them off the tee mainly. For me it's cross dependant. A course where I have long second shots to par 5s I wouldn't bag a driving iron, whereas a course with long par 3s and tight shortish par 4s these are ideal.

Love it! Got rid of my 3-5 iron for the 4 iCrossover. Then added an extra wedge and hybrid to my bag🤙🏼

We will play with the loft sleeve in a future video, stay tuned!

Lessons would be much better than buying a new club.
@@mikescott8894 I know I will do that first I just love the idea of a fairway finder off the tee who looks like an iron, like my g710s. Thanks
