  • 7 Cemetery Road was a Friday night creature feature shown on WSAU, Channel 7 in Wausau, Wisconsin in the 1970's. The name was later changed to 7 Scream Theater. They would show great B movies like "Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster", "Monolith Monsters" and "Monster on Campus". Some of the best memories of my youth. The name tag on the graphic is actually reproduced, as the 7 Scream Theater tag was the one that came with the graphic.

I saw this clip a few years back and in a way getting my wish from childhood, when I would have the tv turned off and told to get to sleep. But now I am an adult and control my tv set, and they will be airing the 4D man on Svengoolie on Me-TV new weekend on 7-2/33-2 right here in Wausau... this is like time travel.

That sounds like me too, feeling the presence of Sir 7. There was one where he was lancing a dragon that they used to sign off with. I'd like to see some of the other graphics, or know who painted them. I remember being so sleepy by the time it was over that it was a really relaxed feeling. Staying up late when you were a kid was such a treat. I used to have a plastic tv tray and build models and eat chips or corn as the furnace would kick on every 20 minutes! Thanks for checkin in. -Kurt

I remember an old wsaw ad where Sir 7 cuts down a Christmas tree. I wish someone would post it. I liked to watch viterbo high quiz bowl. And when I was a kid, I used to like the Midland coopertive ads that where on during the 10 oclock news. They would have feed nutritionists from all over the area in it. "See 'so and so' in Loyal, so and so in Thorp." lol good old days!

Ya, I remember staying up late with a bag of chips and a glass of koolaid watching scary shows in the dark, making sure not to let me feet dangle over the edge of the chair or couch! I to remember the furnace kicking on almost non stop and trying to be very quiet not to wake anyone up. I can still smell the Christmas tree in our living room on those cold winter nights, all bundled up watching tv. I remember Mosinee theatre or something like that, they had late movies on.

I remember this and 7 Scream Theater in the early eighties, too. It really was the beginning of the end for 7SS when they showed *Blood* *Mania* every third week, a horror movie from the seventies about as interesting as watching paint dry.

I am amazed and grateful that this was posted! I well remember the precursor to 7CR - "Theater X," which aired on Saturday afternoons and showed many of the same films from the same syndication package - Mothra, The Blob, The Tingler, The Giant Claw, etc. - My entrance into a lifetime of loving horror and SF!
And how I wish that WSAW's 10PM announcement and title card still existed - "It's 10 o'clock...Parents, do you know where your children are?" That sepulchral voice scared me silly!
    Thanks!

Cool! Do you have anything else from this channel from the 70's/80's? I remember as a kid, never being able to draw that fancy "7" properly, and being scared when they signed off at night because I felt like Sir Seven was watching me to make sure I was asleep.
