SuCh a good qualifier, it was so exciting to see how stacked stuff was and how strong every match was. I’m so so excited for next week and for the end battle over all. I’ve only recently gotten into watching competitive MK and Rips your channel and streams have been a huge part of that. So entertaining and fun and casual while still having huge stakes and tense match ups. SoO so happy that Roethor qualified, definitely one of my favorites to see in any stream, but I also hope Val comes back next week or the one after that and gets into that final team, cause it would be awesome to see a stacked group of arena players representing. I also am a big fan of the random selects in the grand final, I think it shows the sportsmanship and fun of recognizing both players have qualified, and it’s entertaining to see how they work with characters they may or may not have played. Always a delight. Thanks for all you do! It’s always a blast!
Roethor has to be my favorite player to watch in the Arena. So fun to watch, and I steal all of his tech because I have the most fun playing Quan so far.
Crested hawser was probably a hidey from someone, dk who. Didn't sign up again. The villain had trouble launching the game after the khameleon update and he also said he has kids so he's probably busy with that. Murko hasn't been playing competitively, bit of a break, but he's still active on twitter I believe.
Hey Rips! I love your tournaments and high level matches and they make my day anytime I watch them! But I had an idea! Watching the final two in this video, since you do weird ruled tournaments all the time why not do a random select tournament? For example must random select at the start. If you lose a round you have to random select and if you win you keep the same character. You could do it with main roster, kameos, or both!

Darn, the only reason Takeda lost to sindel is bcuz of that aerial whip attack, it shares the basically shame input with shooting star. Whip attack: Aerial Forward+Down+1 Shooting Star: Aerial Down Forward + 1. NRS made that input so odd, that it can conflict with other specials.
I love this combo. Rips although he has fantastic english, destroyer just makes up random shit and confuses the hell out of him. Don't worry rips, half of the time us native english speakers don't know what he's talking about.
Honestly dude watching Val Vs Reaper I think the new tremor buffs gave us a perfect counter to Kenshi. Cause let's be real Kenshi is only top tier cause of sento. So if you aren't in sento stance he is arguably bottom tier. So keep away is the name of the game with Kenshi bc if you let him get one touch it is over. Unless using tremor. Because the armor for one (while no where near as good as the armor from MKX) still doesn't let Kenshi have that confirm he needs. Along with tremor having a great mixup and keep away tools and since they are all ambush attacks it works as a perfect counter for Kenshi. Imo at least
The destroyer collabs are majestic. Match1: Roethor had an inherent advantage on this match, game 1 looked like it could go either way with cold being his usual awesome self but afterwards Roethor got his mojo rolling and not stopping. I dont think the sub zero kameo was the best in this situation as well didnt seem to help much but idk. Match2: Ok this felt super close. This might not have been the most exciting match but from a strategic standpoint it was a masterclass both played this immaculately but Val proved superior, his usage of the crystal armor is second to none. Match3: Too much Sindel for one vid even though i love ma boi fireaxe. Magictea finds it hard to approach sindel. When he does he leaves a mark but overall the gameplan of fireaxe is too solid. Match4: Havent seen yuvility in a good while happy he is alive and kicking. Battle of the toxins pure poison from both Scorp/ferra vs Tanya+Homie/ferra. Its a back and forth with constant 50/50s and resets both delivering bombshells of combo damage but ultimately MKjavi proves too much to handle. Match5: Roethor actually tripping up Val with too much visual noise. Making even the queen look helpless at times roethor slowly chips his way to victory. If course its not easy it IS val and at times he simply squashes the Quan but mostly Roethor dictates the rounds. Match6: Javi vs Fireaxe armed with tremor this time. First time i see tremor's armor breaking. Javi plays this smartly capitalizing on openings. Fireaxe makes some clever resets and while this was a 3-0 it felt close somehow. Finals: love the random select and its incredible javi got 2/3 from characters he plays. The sad thing was that Javi has no idea how to use tremor and thus his last match was kameoless and even so he did great. I think with a more useable kameo this could have proven quite an interesting final.
Love the analysis once again! Problem with Javier though is that he only plays takeda with scorpion or jax and sub with khameleon. Anything else and it's probably too weird. I guess being a character loyalist does that to you lol. I remember when he won the top 8 tremor without even using any tremor but I guess he can't do that for every one of his characters.
@@abdullahharoon253 Specialization has its perks but its a double edged sword whenever you are out of your waters. Ive felt this in fighting games too trying a new character is a pain no matter how much i have played this same game. And Javier is an excellent scorpion player but is not a master of the game in general to the point he can apply his skills easily to multiple characters like Kanimani, Faysal, Mighty unjust or VGY.
@@TheArmyofHades yup, it doesn't help that scorpion, for majority of the last year, has been quite difficult to use, which is why Javier probably didn't try to use other characters until recently lol
13:24 As a Quan-chi main, i can say his weakness is being run over by brawlers like Shao or Lao, etc. Rush him down, do not let him set up those portals and cages. If you wait and try to punish, you are lost. Aggressive play is how you win this matchup.... Lastly, after rushing him, make sure to block and punish his armored overhead jump....VOILLA! Good luck
Takeda = DEAD still when up close or cornered. He has to stay at mid-screen or keep his opponent cornered instead. He needs to be at a range where his f4 overhead and b3 low mix-up can’t be stuffed.
Yeah, honestly fair. I do hate when people cross the line from a personal decision: "I'm not watching his matches because he's boring to me" to "Uvility is so stupid, he's boring and he sucks at the game". Boring gameplay doesn't mean bad gameplay, and honestly if I could pick a character, and hit one button repeatedly over and over again as fast as possible and win money for it (as an example), I would, if that was the best option, viewers be damned.
Same as Kanimani this kid takes a character strip it from any creativity or distinctive gameplay and focuses only on meta and what makes it broken understandable from competitive pov but boring for viewers
@Helikaeon I used to watch his matches from he was playing mk 11 and I thought he would be atleast more creative coming into mk 1 but I guess not, oh well
