"Number 40 a brave 2-8-0 engine that made all the way from New Hope to Ivyland and back with no help." To be fair that was a awesome video. I don't mind about crazy rail fans in the passenger cars, but more importantly this was a great thing from the NH&I crew, they deserve the credits.
It is rare! Especially now that the track conditions on the southern half of the line have gotten worse. It used to happen at least once or twice a year with their “Railfan Weekend” event but they have not held that event since 2008. Otherwise 40 only runs the full length for private charters or to access the Septa mainline for any offline trips ( like the North Wales excursions in 2019 ).
@@fuscoproductions I mean the last few year I think she's only gone up the line til the first switch track which I have no clue how far it is in miles from the station
@@evanf1293 in the last few years the furthest 40 has gone is to Buckingham Valley, PA. Which is 7 miles from New Hope - 40 went this far on the fall foliage excursions. The regular runs are about 4.5 miles to the runaround at Lahaska. There are runaround tracks at Reeder “Deer Park” (3 miles), Lahaska (4.5 miles), Buckingham Valley (7 miles), Wycombe (~11 miles), and Ivyland/Warminster at the end of the line.
@@fuscoproductions ah I see thx. Hopefully in the future she can leave New Hope for another excursion. But only time will tell for the 95 year old consolidation
Wow, that shot at the end really took it away. Great video, I wouldn't expect less of you.
First video I've seen of this trip where we weren't cut out of the end of every clip! Man do we have fun.

Actually passed through here several times beginning in 98
Enjoyed watching as always sir.
Excellent video.
Must be rare for 40 to go down the entire 16 mile line.
