These videos are perfect, thank you so much. And the ability to download the pdf that goes with the video is fantastic, making them a truly useful learning resource that is priced in a way that is fair and makes me happy to contribute to your project.

Also: I hope you release the episodes faster than 1 x per week (30 weeks is a LONG time) unless of course they're not already produced/transcribed. This resource is so invaluable, I would pay a decent price to get all 30 episodes+pdfs so I can go through them at whatever pace I want (and hopefully, you can start other series as well).

This really is an amazingly valuable resource, thank you so much for taking the time to make these.
Can I ask: are they speaking a sort of high variety of Ammiyyeh? I hear some Westerners speak of "Educated Spoken Arabic" being used in interviews on TV, that it uses some Ammiyyeh grammar and pronunciation and some Fusha but isn't "pure" Fusha either (but then I asked an Arabic teacher what does this sound like, should I learn it, and she didn't know what I was talking about). Is this such an example? What with "اسمحوا لي", etc. And, if I recall rightly, I think I have heard some "نعم"s and "جدا"s in this series. So should this be a model for how to speak in a semi-formal setting? Like a job interview, speaking on the radio? Being especially reverential or respectful around the boss, the police officer, the in-laws (saying "نعم" or "جدا" rather than "آه" or "كتير"?) Or is the way these two are talking also ok for normal, everyday conversation on the whole (without being laughed at for sounding too formal, and funny)? When would you use titles before someone's name before having a chat ordinarily, for example (e.g. where he says يا ست اناس)?
    شكرا جزيلا مقدما على مساعدك!

Hi Lydia! In this series, the overall tone is informal and the way they speak still represents normal, everyday conversation on the whole. Words like نعم and جدا are also used by native speakers in everyday speech, and you def will not be laughed at for using such words. With regards to ست اناس, apparently, the man only uses that title at the beginning of this episode whereas for the rest of the episodes, he simply addresses her by her name. It's probably because it's the first episode and the man is introducing her to the listeners. If you're talking to friends or your peers, then there's no need to use titles. Titles are more commonly used during more formal settings or to address those older than you. I hope this helps!

@@thelevantongue So sorry I forgot to reply to this at the time, just been on your website and remembered. Thanks for answering my question so fully. This is an excellent resource and I probably will be looking to invest in your PDFs in the not too distant future (just finishing off another Arabic course and don't want to be spread too thinly). Thanks again for answering my question :)
