I think it was really a combination, but honestly just the fine “snow” from JTT was pretty nice to finish. Wish I could find a way to make it stick better without flooding with glue.

Great to have you back on the ol' crafting horse! Look at that beautiful yard you have now!. So cool. I love the way that you made the indentions in the sofa cushions, very effective. Man, your wallpapering technique and the weathering and stains on it is out of this world. I also love the fabric pleating on the curtains. Cheers man, excellent work and beautiful final shots!

You have been sorely missed brother. Glad all is ok and you have a dedicated home and studio space to really hunker down and do what you love. I don't know a particular scene, but what might be an interesting challenge (if you haven't tried) would be a scene that incorporates either old machinery or aged/abandoned vehicles. There is a lot of great detail between upholstery aging, the glass windows, paintjob wear and rust and the elements and plants weaving through over time. Plus with machinery or a more industrial setting, you could both create a 'history' for the scene and get creativre with queue's for some environmental storytelling. This piece got me thinking about that since you get a little of it with you weighing down the cushions on the sofa and carefully figuring out how the snowfall would worm and reside over time. Love your work and seeing all these new tools and techniques. You rock holmes.

i do urban exploration and I love this. Its a pretty good representation of the decay and how things get dirty and shitty. My only comment is about the snow. You used a brush so there's some hard edges where the snow stops. What I would suggest is do use some spray glue or possibly drops of elmers or crazy glue so you can get more of a random feel. Also to build up like drifts I would lay down some hot glue. then after it hardens hit it with some spray glue or brush it on and the hit it with the snow powder. That would give you some height, as well as that randomness you want with snow. I say all this with love and not as criticism. Its really cool, I didnt even know this was a thing!!

Theres an old BBC tv play from the 70s called The Stone Tape on RUclips. It's about a tech company that discovers an old house that keeps "replaying" a traumatic event as if it is recorded in the very stones of the building. The set would make for a cool diorama. It's fairly simple, but theres a staircase that goes to nowhere and a high up window as if for an upper floor that no longer exists. With the right lighting, it would look very nice.
