    A good honest review! I'm a Hntr owner and you're bang on the mark with your comments. I've had mine (in Rebel Red) since March and I'm heading for 6000 miles. I avoid motorways and do the minimum of fast dual carriageways, I find that the bike just loves back lanes and twistie A roads and of course, like you say, it's so easy to ride in town. And personally, I absolutely love the looks!! 10/10 to RE! Thank you for your review, all the best, Phil

    Good review. Didn’t dwell on stats. It’s more important to describe how it feels. Anyone can look up the numbers. It seems to be an honest bike that behaves exactly as it looks. It’s inexpensive without being cheap, low powered without being slow, and fun without being intimidating. And it’s frugal.

    • @exeterrider
      @exeterrider  10 месяцев назад +3

      You nailed that ...yes all of the above. I don't really like reading out stats, then again many people ask for them but writing them out in the video seems to be a good happy medium.

    Great review ER. I love my Hunter for all the reasons you mention. It’s the perfect tool for the B roads of the Cumbrian/Northumberland borders I ride. I occasionally take my wife on the back and barely notice she’s there and she loves it too.
    The new Triumph 400’s do look serious competition though albeit at a fairly significant price premium.

    Cracking little city bike I should think, especially if you commute to the outskirts or an outlying village. Electric motorcycles will struggle to match this when you balance fuel economy, performance, range and price! Shame (to my taste) about the design of the fuel tank graphics, Gloss black with gold coachlining would've set it off beautifully. Lovely footage in and around Thorverton. Where was the huge glass building at the end? Torquay maybe?

    • @exeterrider
      @exeterrider  10 месяцев назад +1

      I feel the same way about the tank graphics and am kicking myself I didn't mention it now, also I forgot to say it comes with a side stand as well...but yes were on the same page there although Daves looks a bit more subtle on his black grey set up.
      Yeap it was Torquay at the end . I quite like it down that way and Babbacombe etc...I wonder if there are any Ken lanes down there ummmm

    I have that much confidence with mine that I can corner it on 2 wheels.. all joking apart, it can corner to such a degree that I scrape the souls of my boots on the road and it hasn't slip away from under me... yet.
    My fastest recorded speed achieved on level roads has been 80mph on the speedo which is incredible. Dual carriageways is a constant 70 on the speedo without any bike complaints.
    Acceleration has been nearly enough to do a wheelie by just selecting the correct gear and no aggressive clutch control. Fuel economy is very good and the exhaust note is perfect. I haven't been able to fault the braking system and the headlight is ample from it's filament headlight bulb.
    I did consider adding a couple of mods i.e DNA air filter and the FuelX lite ECU but what's the point? I cannot see this bike going any better to warrant the extra expense.
    If I want a faster bike my best bet is to wait another year and buy a new one with the 450cc engine for even more power.
    One notable negative, the rear suspension could do to be a little softer under my aging body. Overall, I am very pleased with my HNTR for the price I paid. Also in Rebel Red.

    One of your best reviews, how you do these vids with all you have on is amzinballs, the quality really shows. You maximise your locations, and use so many of them.
    I like that they give you the bike for a good long time, shows they have faith in what they make.. I was surprised at the low price of the bike, and that it comes with that undertaking feature, I've not tried that myself sound edgy.
    Can the bike be easily derestricted, I think I little more poke on the motorway for passing would be nice?
    Amazingly you got not one but two high speed trains going in different directions, I'd not seen that before in a bike review.
    You even ended with a sunset shot and I don't know if it was just luck but you somehow got the music to end just as the video ended 👍😊

      Thanks Beans, yes I am lucky here with all the places I can go for walk rounds etc, although I am running out so I'm hoping more beeches will be built in my time. RE have been one of the best to work with because they really let me have time to get the shots and most of my video segments including the walkround on this one was filmed twice and i just pick the best one.
      You can't derestrict this motor to my knowledege at the moment, but many have de-cated the Meteor etc to give it more.
      I didn't know the sunset was there at the time but yes I did plan it in on purpose. Often luck with these things isn't it : )
      The trains were a tad bit of luck and had to hide my excitement of getting that shot while trying to keep talking at the same time. I messed up the 3rd train haha....but at least I got 2 of them.
      Thanks

    Loved your video❤, I am a hunter owner from india, I have the exact rebel red colour that you rode, I can tell you this bike with the blackedout engine and wheels under the sun looks very appealing to all people as they often appreciate me while at traffic signals.
    The J series engine has good torque and BHP for the city riding and adequate for highway riding, and it's smooth.
    Headlight could be better and the rear shocks are too stiff but it's not a deal breaker.

    I particularly enjoyed this video as it matches my findings on this bike. It's so small and manoeuvrable compared to the lumpier Meteor and Classic 350. Out of all the RE 350s, this is the one I would own. Also, the new TEC cam I believe gives another 5BHP at the rear wheel which is an almost 30% gain. I can see with that, re-mapping a fruity exhaust and some styling tweaks that this could be a real Goldstar competitor, of which (cough) by some co-incidence my extended riding review comes out on Saturday (ahem) 😄

    Another excellent bike review. You seriously have fantastic content. I nearly bought a Continental GT 650 for my second bike a few months ago. I had money in hand and went to the dealership to test ride, thinking I'd fall in love with it and bring it home. I hated it. Two reasons, and you touched on two big reasons, first, it felt like it weighed a ton when i would lean it over, and second, it felt way too much like i was on in and not in it. You said the Hunter is light-feeling leaning it, so that's good. You said it feels more like you're on it than in it, but it still has to feel better than the GT 650...does it? I'm still trying to find that elusive second bike, I may have to test this one out. But i want my wife to be comfortable on it as the pillion (she's only 5'2"). Iron 883 is leading the way, but the Street Twin (900) is up there along with the Honda Rebel.

    I think the biggest single improvement to this bike would be twin clocks. I don’t like RE’s but like the looks but the instrument binnacle is abhorrent if not functional. Twin clocks on bikes please. Did you see all year motorcyclist vlog on old honda cb550. Now all you foreign motorcycle manufacturers take a look at that bike and make a modern one. It has the looks, power (only 50bhp), style and presence and sound. But obviously the emissions probably no good with carbs.if I want a city bike give me the scooter marque that little 125 or 350if you want some welly.
