I think emotionally this is my favorite episode -Shulk And Fiora Reuniting -Meeting again With Reyn, havin a good time -Dunban and Riki bonding And dunban visually being on the edge of tears when reuniting with Fiora God its so hard to hold back the tears here ;-;
Can’t blame Dunban for feeling that way since he lost his parents a young age & his sister was “killed” in front of him, & so he was the only family member left & I couldn’t help but sympathize with him. So when he reunited with Fiora, I couldn’t help but tear up a bit just because of how much Dunban went through in his life. And his 2 best friends betrayed him. Like man… 😢

true i love how the line "i reached out for a piece of scrap metal and then i fell into the ground" refers to three things simultaneously 1. the scene immediately prior where shulk reaches for fiora and falls from galahad 2. shulk's first time grabbing the monado at ose tower 3. shulk's attempted handshake with egil at mechonis core
Eh, I'd say on par with Rex as they both have really good moments. Since I already know you'll likely disagree and say shulk is way better than Rex, here are a few of his best moments rival or beat some of Shulk's best: The entirety of his battle against Jin and Malos at the cliffs of Morytha (his calm speech before the fight, followed by his impassioned, desperate, yet confident pleas to Pyra and Mythra, easily one of the greatest moments of the series), his complete breakdown during the illusions in chapter 10, and his dialogue with Malos, against Aion show his true growth and resolve. Those are just three of his great moments and he has far more, but for the sake of time on both our ends I'll leave it there saying that I'd say Rex is either on par with, or better than Shulk. In terms of Addam, I agree, but it's also not a fair comparison as Addam isn't the main character of Torna, Jin is. In terms of that comparison, Jin is on par with Shulk at least, honestly maybe even better than Rex. Jin loses Lora at the end of Torna, the person he literally couldn't live without, and in the process of losing her, he becomes a monster in his eyes and merely wishes for it to end, spending his days roaming and wallowing in his self pity and hatred, seeing the evil humanity has done. Then the day comes, where he meets Malos once more, and he takes his hand and the two swear the kill the architect. During this time frame to that of his death, he becomes almost identical to Klaus (in the fact that his goals are driven by his thoughts of a higher power) though instead of Klaus accidentally killing billions, Jin purposely kills thousands, with his goal to kill everything. Upon hearing Rex's words at the cliffs, Jin is thrown for a loop when he realizes there might still be hope for humanity, however in his eyes that hope is pointless if it doesn't have the power to protect itself, and then Pneuma awakens and Jin begins to revert to his old ways when in Morytha (due to Rex's actions both in the cliffs and in Morytha itself) It isn't instant, but during that time below the cloud sea, he understands that Rex is just the same as Lora once was, this is when his resolve begins to truly crack, between him ordering the rest of Torna not to attack the party and him waiting for Rex at Megrez Gateway. During the his last stand at the gateway, Jin sees that Rex has gained the power to protect the world, the world that he and Lora once desired, upon hearing Rex state the role blades play in the world, his resolve breaks, understanding that the old ways of Torna (Nation), and Lora have not died out, and live within Rex. At this point Jin's only desire is for Rex to stop Malos and save the world, this is why he sacrifices himself to kill Amalthus, to ensure that Rex can save the world in time.

Calling Rex's fashion sense bad (and even partially claiming it brings down his character) compared to Shulk is so pathetically biased toward 1 that it's not even funny. IMO you're clearly a toxic fan of 1 who's unwilling to accept that 2 is a worthy successor to it.

Riki is such a developed person... although he's the common comedic relief character, he has matured and grown far more than he seems. I admire him.

The opening cutscene here is just perfect foreshadowing. It’s pretty much exactly what happened.
