It’s utterly amazing. A car that can do Melbourne to Adelaide on a charge! I think sedan design isn’t the best for demand but with skateboard concept taller vehicles can be produced, air suspension too. No wonder Ford GM VW are crying.
I like everything about the 007. This looks like it will be one of the few truly 'future proof' EVs. The 007 will surely be emulated, presuming other automakers can catch up with the amazing battery tech that Geely has created. While BYD is doing great I think that Geely/Volvo and GAC now stand with Tesla as the automakers that are most powerfully influencing the shape and direction of EV development. It would be great to see Geely and GAC establish a business presence here in Australia. If either company was to broadly deploy their charging posts here, we would be fortunate indeed.
The headlight bar is really cool and truly innovative, the first in the auto business. The overall package at $35k in China - on par with base Model 3, is very competitive. Could really shake Tesla, this car.

The model three certainly has a place, but in terms of overall numbers, it will be overshadowed by hatchback and SUVs. For example, in America, the cyber truck has over 1 million orders and will be very popular, but in the rest of the world I can’t see it selling very much due to its size.
Geely is an interesting one, since it is a private company (owned by a Chinese billionaire) so it can slip past the china import restrictions, by using Polestar and Volvo. I think though because it doesn't get the full EV subsidies it seems they are taking their time getting to the USA. Maybe they will start importing batteries and constructing cars in Volvo factories in the US.

It’s great to see new battery tech like this. Waiting for it to trickle down to EX30 sized cars. This size class is just too big for us. EX30 would be a perfect fit if it had 600km range and had a dashboard or HUD. Better aerodynamics would help that goal too. 0.28 drag coefficient isn’t great.
I'll be very interested to se these being reviewed in local markets around the world. I'm interested to see real world range, and also to see a direct comparison with whatever competitors might exist. It does sound like progress is being made, which is great. If there is a battery advancement, then I'm interested to understand how competitors will react, and as ever with technology, how THIS level will eventually be leapfrogged to whatever comes next. Either way, progress, if it really exists here, is a good thing.

But for the moment, China is still burning a lot of coal. It's still going to take them a few more years to get to net zero carbon.

Chinese cars do offer great value for money indeed, but when they encounter issues, can they be repaired? Are spare parts available?
I would think the answer to both questions would more than likely be no! Chinese vehicles are normally very poor quality no matter how good they look.

How needs an 800 kilometre range? It's not necessary. Most people only travel 50 kilometres a day.
500 is plenty and that would reduce the cost where some people could afford it.
